This is a great vet. The receptionists are super nice, and the nurses and doctors are also very curious. I was told it would be 10 minute wait- 30 minute at most. And I saw so many people come and go in the hour and a half that we waited. We were still in line to be seen and we kept getting pushed back. So we decided to leave since my dog was in so much pain.  They feel as if they did nothing wrong. All and any of my friends that have pets or not I will tell them this story. WORST VET EVER! I was nervous  taken my english Golden retriever 23 week puppy to new vet office old vet close but omg Love this place Great service, Great steff overall they generious care about health and well being of your pet and they called you in fews day check up on him/her see how they doing  that an A+++in my book and Everyone give this place a try you won't regret it. Bit costly $$ then most vet out there but worth every money you put in for your pet so everyone  stop comparing price to other vet  now it not really matter how much cost anymore my puppy happy everytime I tell him vet time he know ran to door couldn't waite to go vet and when you need advice, question they pick up the phone take there time to answer whatever concern you they better steff and serivce then our own family dr. Most family dr. Refuse to answer phone when do they put you on hold 1 hour hang up seen many place. But vet steff way better. Highly recommended this place oh yeh recommend dr. Chris he reminded me of movie Dr. Dolittle lol. How he talk to the dog and his look except movie no defense not race black man and dr. I've been going to this place for nearly 20 years...back when Dr Frye owned the business. I decided to stay with the new owners mostly out of convenience. They are usually very good vets although my favorite is a part time vet they have that comes in every Friday, Dr Burch. Dr Debbie is impatient and can even be rude at times. Dr Biggerstaff is nice and does a good job, most of the time but he does seem to be lacking in common sense at times. I recently took my 10 year old black lab dog in for xrays on her abdomen and removal of a cyst on her eye lid. I don't know what they did first but common sense dictates that they should have done the xrays first since her bloodwork indicated that something wasn't right inside. Seems to me that they could have looked at the xrays first, and called me when they found the mass. Instead they went ahead and removed the cyst. If he had just thought about this, and how much all of this was going to cost me, he would have checked the xrays, called me and asked what to do, before they went ahead with the $1000 surgery to remove the cyst. I ended up spending about $1500 last week on my lab and to get some bloodwork done on my 17 year old cat. ($195.) If I had known my dog had a huge mass on her spleen, among hip dysplasia, arthritis, and other ailments that old labs get) I wouldn't have bothered getting the cyst removed because I had to take my dog back a few days later and spend yet another $350 to get her euthanized. I have always complained that this vet nickels and dimes us to death, but to not even give us a break on the costs, especially when you consider a severe lacking of common sense, well...we are currently looking for a new vet. We're going to take our 7 pets and the money that we spend on them, and go find someone that cares more about the pets and their owners than they care about filling their cash drawers. I've had a few other neighbors and friends that left this vet office for the same reason...they are simply too expensive. And its a shame because I do like Dr Burch, and I realize that there isn't a big supply of good vets in the Antelope Valley but I'm sure that this is the most expensive vet around, they never give you a break on price, and they nickel and dime you for everything. I have had other issues with them through the years...but I think I've said enough for now. Read Less

I take my doggies here and let's just say they love coming to the vet! We usually go in just for shots but my dogs like me to take some visits to see their friends! My second puppy had some issues and they found out what was wrong and now she is all better! I would come in crying and the ladies were always so kind! Wow! Very impressed by the staff and the service here. Our dog had an issue with his paw; we thought he had scraped it or had an allergy since he was licking it and picking at it constantly.We arrived at the office and immediately felt welcomed by the friendly staff. Our dog had an accident because he was so scared, but the staff members were very gracious about it.Dr. Morrow and a couple techs assisted us and were very personable and helpful - turned out that our dog had a foxtail that had completely burrowed its way into his paw! Dr. Morrow removed it and our dog is feeling much better. The office fees seemed reasonable for the work that was performed.All in all, great experience - I would highly recommend Dr. Morrow and this office! Read Less

Great customer service, they were really good with how they interacted with my cats, and I felt the vet was very proactive and clear in her examination. Great hours of availability and see fairly quickly. Just a warning that the open sign light isn't very clear. I was early and the doors were locked and didn't realize they had opened for some time as the sign looked the same and from the outside it seemed dark inside. But when I got it it was well lit and had a good atmosphere. Read Less

We were recently adopted by a big stray tomcat.  He had not been neutered and had the scars to show his many fights with other cats.   He was so desperate for love and food that we couldn't let him down.   After calling many vets QHVC offered what we needed without adding on numerous charges other places insisted we had to have.   The two ladies at the front desk could not have been more friendly and helpful.   All went well.  He is so gentle and purrs non-stop.  Thank you! This is the first place I took my cat to, 16 years ago, and when I moved I ended up going to a few other places--mistake! My cat was at death's door about 6 years ago, but the vets here fixed EVERYTHING that was wrong with him and he has been doing well ever since. The owners and staff here are honorable and compassionate; they care about animals and people and are not out to make extra money the way a lot of other vets are. I cannot say enough good things about this veterinary clinic.  How about sweet, kind, compassionate, professional, caring ..... all those things and MORE.  The front desk staff are just the best.  I found them all to be such nice people. Dr. Stephanie Morrow treated us and our very sick pet in a gentle and caring manner which made me feel that he was in good hands.  She explained that he was very sick and, after receiving blood test results, advised that euthanasia was the kindest thing to do for him at that point, which it was because he was beginning to show that he was in considerable pain.  Within 24 hours of our first meeting with Dr. Morrow, we were back at the clinic to carry out the final deed for our pet.  Naturally, we were very upset at the thought of having to lose our pet due to illness but we also knew it was the best thing for him, and the office staff and veterinary technician who assisted us were just as caring as could be.  They made sure that our pet was comfortable in his last minutes and left us to be with him in the room for as long as we wanted, no rush.  That meant so much to us, to be able to gently say goodbye to our long time pet.  When Dr. Morrow came in to administer the final shot, it was calm, peaceful and quiet and that was the way our pet deserved to go.It is never a happy day when a pet has be euthanized but I can say that if that is the way it has to be, then the care our pet received at Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic was the best.  In addition, today we received a sympathy card from the office which was signed by everyone.  Enclosed was our pet's paw print and a memorial card.  Lots more tears too but such a nice gesture.  Much appreciated.  Thank you QHVC. Worst customer service ever!!!!!!  Do not go here! I have contacted them 3 times to try to schedule my dog to be fixed. I have yet to hear back from them. Absolutely amazing care. I took my best friend in on a Saturday without an appointment, witch I don't suggest because normally they charge a $75 dollar walk in fee. Thankfully they waved the fee for me. Not only that, but they informed me that normally they don't take office visits of the manner in which I was visiting for on Saturdays because they run a vaccination clinic that day. They still saw my little girl, and were not only quick and very friendly, but definitely made me very happy for the exceptional care they provided. My best friend has just found herself her new Vet. I will always take her back for any of her future health needs.Read Less

It is the most caring vet clinic I have been in. I have 2 18 year old tabby cats with some problems and the staff at the clinic have been very helpful and they listen to my problems. 1/3/2014 - nightmareMy big dog who patiently waited in miniscule front room with 3 other pet owners and their animals, plus sick animals being wheeled in was so insensitively labeled a  "jackass" by the head veterinarian, by the name of "Chris".  He came in gave him his shots and left very quickly.  Previously a vet tech and another lady came into give him his shots and gave up.  My dog was becoming anxious because he had a "party hat" (muzzle) on for the first time and these women were unskilled or unfamiliar with the nature of my dog or dogs in general by showing fear and being so slow.  They went and got the man and he was very quick but he as already madder than my dog could ever have been. I tried to thank him but that's when he called him that and left.I had my dog since October I rescued him from the street, I don't know who had him before me, but I would NEVER describe him to ANYONE, in that manner, much blame me for trying to save his life and make him  a productive member of this society so no one can ever call him  (to MY face again!)  Shame on this grown man, not me! I didn't call him or his staff donkeys, but truth be told.Over the phone, whilst making appt., I explicitly explained my dog to the appt. setter and asked if I should wait for my new muzzle to come in the mail because his reaction could be unpredictable and my dog has had an unknown previous owner up until Oct. 2013, so I made sure to get an appt. where he would be seen by the head vet, who is a male and would have the strength of a male, since my dog is a of a cattle herding breed variety of dogs(Rottweiler) and is very strong.  And it was my understanding that the head vet would give shots, give a friendly word, etc., low and behold that didn't happen on the actual day of his appointment.It is Ironic his name is Biggerstaff, when he is a complete hot-head.  When I had to be the bigger person and walk away with the burden of having a "jackass" for a dog.  What does that mean?  Dogs are animals!  They cannot be anthropomorphized into human behavioral emotions.  Very upsetting, very insensitive.  Very UNPROFESSIONAL!  ramshackle, insensitive, antiquated, cramped, odd shaped tiny rooms, chilly reception, hot-headed.Kind of cold reception, not a lot of kindness.  With two people in the waiting room it starts to feel really cramped.  However, it is good to talk with the other people for animal caretaking camaraderie as the front desk offered no reception.  I wish only the best for their clients!  There's no telling how they would treat my cats and I, ...but I wont find out.  Just glad it's over and we lived another day  to tell! I completely love this vet. Lets start with the front staff, they are very sweet and truly helpful. I have never had a problem with them, they make me glad to come here and feel welcomed.Now with the doctors, My dog Jackie had knee surgery here about 3 years ago. She had Dr.Chris B. do her surgery. I have to say he is amazing. He was honest and open with me and wasn't pushy for me to spend money. In fact its the opposite here, they tell you the honest truth and don't try and make you get services done just to get money. I took my dog to two different vets before here and they tried making me get xrays, special shots and blah blah blah costing a lot of money. I came here and they just looked at her knee and told me plain and simple she will need surgery eventually but you don't have to get it now unless shes uncomfortable (she was and got surgery) but they didn't have to do half the things all the other vets said she supposedly needed. Saving me money and getting my baby all fixed up. They handled her very well, shes a tiny dog and they cared for her so well! The called me after she got out of surgery, and at night just to let me know shes doing well and helping to ease my mind. I would recommend them to anyone, they are a great office and great vets... I couldn't thank them enough for taking such great care of my baby. Read Less

I have 3 cats and one dog. QHVC have seem them all. They are loving, caring, and very understanding. My dog had a very bad experience with a Veterinary Clinic in Tehahcapi, and was very frightened and growling at the vet tech, and the vet. They both simply sat down and let my dog get used to them before proceeding. I was so relieved when they did her exam and a quick rabies booster with very, VERY little drama! They really seem to care deeply about my dog and my cats. When I am shown to the exam room, I feel as though I am the ONLY person in the place. They take their time, explain everything to me that is going on with my pets, and I have never felt overcharged for their services. I can highly recommend QHVC to anyone needing a great Vet! QH Animal Hosp. has been our Vet for the last 6 years., I would not go anywhere else except in an emergency. We have had as many as 5 cats and 2 dogs. We enjoy a professionally friendly experience every time we go. They have a low- cost vaccine clinic one evening a week , open to the community not just their clients, which is huge cost-savings for those of us with a multiple pet household. On their website, you can sign up for low-cost spay or neutering services which we have used for 2 of our pets. Our oldest dog had exploratory surgery last summer. A huge tumor was attached to her spleen. Both were removed and she is back to her old self without any complications. Yes it was expensive, but she had 2 or 3 followup visits at no additional costs to us. Several times during her recovery, the staff called to check on how she was doing, which is more than most human doctor's offices do. They care about pet parents as much as their pets. Explanations are given so pet parents can understand what may be a health issue and home care if needed. Recently, our oldest cat came to the end of her life, and needed compassionate veternary intervention for a peaceful passing. Everyone of the staff were compassionate and understanding with us as well. Everything was explained and we were given a choice to be present or not and allowed to spend as much time as we needed after she was gone. We even received a condolence card several days later that was signed by each of the staff. We are so grateful for all the excellent care we, but mostly, our pets have received over time. Thank you. I have never seen a veterinary clinic interact so well with my pets. All the staff members were very knowledgeable and treated me and my pets like family. We had to go in for an emergency visit, they got us right in and were so compassionate towards me and my pet Punker who was attacked by our neighbors dog. The explained all of the charges in great detail and they even offered me a senior discount. I would recommend them to everyone I know, everytime I have gone in there since, for whatever reason, they remember mine and my pets name, their prices are great, the office is clean, and they really care about my feelings and concerns. Truly the women at QH Veternary Clinic are wonderful. My first visit in there I felt comfortable and confident that they were going to give my dog the best treatment they could. They all seem to be pet lovers which is HUGE for me. In the past few weeks my little yorkie has had so many different health issues. They have been so nice in answering my calls and concerns with what is going on with him. Dr Dean has been fabulous in working towards getting him healed. I usually use another vet, but had adopted a dog and was using the "free" check up from a voucher the shelter gave us.  In no way was this free!  After charging us for all the extra things they could come up with, which of course we had done for the sake of the dog since we were already there, it ended up being quite costly.  We just looked at each other and shook our heads, vowing never to return as they presented us with a surprisingly high bill.I don't even want to think about the reaction the dog had to a loose cat in the clinic who apparently lives there.  It was rough on us and the dog, and somehow we got the feeling it was OUR fault that dogs chase cats. Since we just adopted the dog we had no idea what, if any, reaction the dog would have to cats, and being new customers had no idea a cat would be lounging around unrestrained. And yes, we do expect to see other animals at a vet office but usually the animals are under the control of their human and this cat was just hanging out.  Since that visit, we have taken the dog to our regular vet and saved a LOT of money.  I do not like the idea of a vet charging so much to do what ours would have done for the regular office charge, which would have been LESS than what they charged on their "free" visit.  I chalk it up to me being cheap I guess since I just wanted to ensure I had a healthy dog BEFORE I brought it home to our other animals and this one was closest to the shelter.  Lesson learned. i went in the, front desk was greated (they were ok) and the vet was fast. i may even say to fast but she came in took the info, and took my puppy to the back. after 2 min. the teck gave my puppy back then told me there was nothing wrong with my puppy "he just has allergies". they rushed me out to the front to pay my bill. i was shocked when they gave me a bill for $125.00 when they did not but look at him and give my allergie meds. that i can get over the counter for $10. so i will not be going back.Read Less

This vet office is terrible! They rushed us into putting our dog down without hesitation! They waited till the next day to do xrays in a life or death situation. I would not send my worst enemy to them! We lost a family member due to this office. Read Less
