Pretty appalling experience - the floors in the lobby and exam rooms are grimy and covered in fur. The exam fee was fairly standard but the cost of vaccines was twice as much as other vets. staff seemed very experience. vet was more like a car salesman than a doctor. not worth the cost. poor quality all around. nurses all look stoned and unprofessional, dirty, one had terrible body odor and looked homeless. I don't understand why they charge so much and look so disheveled. Read Less

Dirty facility with inexperienced staff. Very unorganized, my dog almost was double vaccinated because they could'nt get their records straight. Receptionist was curt. Will not be returning

Would give 10 stars if I could! Front office staff was super polite and respectful. The online sign up made it all a snap. Booked my appointment and set up my payment without ever having to call or set foot in the office. Once on our visit, Greg was very gentle and thoughtful about my dog's experience at the office. He was very generous with treats, and insured that my dog had a positive experience with everything, from the table, to the scale, the needles, and the technician. One of the best vet visits we have ever had. Thanks guys!! Read Less

I have worked with Dr. St. Lawrence and Dr. Calhoun, and have been very impressed with both. Dr. St. Lawrence was thorough in explaining options for my dog when I brought her in for anxiety and pacing, and happy to answer all of my (many!) questions. He sent follow up emails to check on my dog several weeks after her appointment, and even filled a prescription over email when I decided to get some meds for her a couple months after her anxiety appointment. I have recommended Woodside to a friend who brought her dog in for blood work, and Dr. St. Lawrence sent her a follow up email to check on her pooch too. Dr. Calhoun saw my dog for a consultation and then a dental to remove all of her teeth. He was incredibly understanding of my need to understand and know about every charge on our bill, and was very honest about what is and isn't needed and the pros and cons of every decision. On one visit he came out to the waiting room as I was paying just to say goodbye to my dog -- he clearly was enamored with her and it's wonderful to have a vet that so clearly loves pets as much as their owners do. In the weeks after her dental Dr. Calhoun continued to help me figure out the most cost effective plan for post-op pain meds, even if it included ordering some things online not through the clinic. Do your own research for your needs, but from what I've gathered Woodside seems on the low end cost-wise for vets in this area, and I couldn't be happier with the care my dog has received. Read Less

Wonderful vet. This facility was just purchased by Dr Wm St Lawrence of Portola Valley Vet Clinic. Couldn't be happier to have them closer.

Absolutely love this vet. They are so kind and caring. After we brought our dog in the vet emailed about a week later to ask how she was doing. Wonderful touch to show they care and remember our pet. Super easy to come back and get more antibiotics, the vet even remembered us and asked how our dog was doing. Discussed the issue and gave recommendations for the next two weeks. Really love this place and highly recommend. Would give more stars if I could! Read Less

Used to take my cats here as they are close to the house. Decided to adopt a dog last week. Read the reviews and sucked air through my teeth while I cringed. Decided to give it a shot for an initial exam. Made list of a couple of questions I had and made an appointment. The receptionist was fine. Friendly. "Nurse?" who initially took my information was cheerful and bubbly yet professional. Dr. Clemens was fantastic. Engaged, not in a hurry, caring. We talked about the dog, we talked about some training issues.  Got Tick, Flea, Worm Meds, got some shots, got the dog chipped, got an exam, got follow up stuff  - Only thing I declined was the doggy dental stuff. Let's see what her plaque looks like in a year. Asked about spaying and was given a quote. To be fair - the vet is located in an expensive zip code and they have rent to pay and employees to salary. The SPCA or Pets In Need is a much more affordable option for spaying and I told Dr. Clemens "Cards on the table, I think I'm going to go that way for this procedure."  Her reaction was warm, accepting. I could have gone to Pet Food Express or shelters for the same services but I like supporting small businesses - especially neighborhood ones. I have no complaints and look forward to future visits. Let's get some current reviews, based on current staff posted. They deserve the business. Read Less

We've been taking our cats and dogs to Dr Clemens for over 10 years. I love her expertise and care of our animals. She keeps up to date on advances in veterinary medicine/care. Whether a routine visit (where she detected a cancer early in one of my dogs) or a "what do I do if my pup ate a length of gauze" call, she and her staff are knowledgeable, responsive, and caring of both pet and human.
