Friendly vet, and staff. I wish they would serve a bowl of water out side of their clinic for dogs who walked there. I was grateful that they still see my dog when we were late for about 20 minutes because Max stop for every tree we walk by! Read Less

I love Richmond Vet. There is a recent review on this with one star and it couldn't be more inaccurate. Plus to comment on the Vet's English is uncalled for. This is an honest place and a third of the price compared to many surrounding areas. My last dog and my current dog only go there. Read Less

Tried to UP SELL me on tests that my cat did not need. Basically a drug and services salesman. He barley spoke English in a broken Chinese ascent. The vet spoke so fast I had to ask him to slow down so I could try to understand what he was saying. I will NEVER go back. I LOve Pet Vet. Read Less

Dr. Han is kind, thoughtful and down-to-earth.  He's helped me trim all manner of costs so I can do home care for my nearly 22 year old cat with feline kidney failure.  He showed me how to give the subcutaneous treatments she needs--and helped me order supplies online & with Costco so I pay much less than buying from him-- i.e. he loses $ on me/our cat in that regard.   Husband & I are going on 2 l/2 years treating Asi the cat every other day. She's old but happy and now more alive since we got a new puppy.  Upon meeting our rescued pup, Dr. Han held Queenie's head between his two hands & pressed his forehead up to hers, closed his eyes & the both of them became utterly quiet & still.  A bit of Dr. Spock's mind meld, only much gentler & with lots of heart-- so it's Dr. Spock meets Thich Nhat Hahn    youtu.be/8DC8yx4BxEg    Han is not only intuitive but down-to-earth:  no over treating.  Talking about $$$: A friend's vet wanted to charge him $250 to put his ailing, cancer-ridden cat to sleep--after so many years of treating that same cat.  I sent my friend to Dr. Han--1st visit- Dr. Han walked in the room & said "Oh, I'm sorry." No heroic efforts to keep the old girl alive, just kindness, respect---- plus he only charged $50 (5x less than friend's regular vet).   If you want to pay more for boutique treatment--smelling of lavender, super perky office staff, etc. or perhaps you're into a place/vet that's heavy on medicines NOT needed, & Yeah! let's operate!! then please, please leave Dr. Han to those of us who treasure him. The doctors here are friendly and have helped me take care of my baby every time. Last time they helped my dog with her teeth cleaning and removing a mass on the skin on side of her stomach. They are also much less expensive than PetsCo or PetSmsrt which are a total rip off. Read Less

Have been bringing my Pets here for YEARS! There may be equal technologically, but none better in compassion, fairness in price, and candid advice than Dr.Han. Notice that the other Dr. in his office is Dr.Ohn.... and notice that I didn't review him here. Note too that the entire Berkeley-Oak-Richmond area has been targeted by "VC" hosipitals (check them on Nasdeq). You would think they are 'everywhere' but they are not, they are HERE and Texas. over the past 20+ years they have bought out retiring Vets, and inflated the prices IN THIS AREA by 20+ per cent! Prices are cheaper in Marin County for instance. BE AWARE that VC gouges every chance they get. Their Dr.s get a commision on lab and X-ray tests....'just to be on the safe side, your cat could have a hair-ball, or we could be sure with some tests...". Be careful out there!
