We recently took our dog there for the very first time and could not be more pleased. Our dog is very big, very excitable, and somewhat nervous around other animals. We were completely accommodated in every way imaginable -and best of all, all of the staff that we encountered seemed to be an expert at what they do AND actually love what they do. I have been here a few times with my kitten, Feliza.  Previously for shots and yesterday/today to have her spayed.  All who work here are obviously animal lovers (not always the case in a vet office).  What I notice most is how gentle every employee is with handling of my companion critter, as well as other people there with their pets.  Our pets are pretty much always terrified at going to the vet and everyone here gets that and acts accordingly One thing in particular really hit me hard today as I waited to claim my kitty after her surgery.  On the counter there is one of those battery operated candles and there is a sign by it that indicates that if the candle is lit it means that someone is saying goodbye to their companion and there is a request for quiet and respect for the grieving process going on behind the door.  Wow, it brought a tear to my eye and struck in me the empathy that the staff desires for respecting the love and devotion that we have for our companion animals.  A small gesture, but a huge feeling.  In the small stuff is the essence. This place is GREAT. They are well staffed, caring and efficient. We just took one of our dogs in for a minor surgery. She recovered MUCH more quickly than she did a few years ago when we took her to a different place. I was amazed - they used less medication and did a better job. I went there for the first time today with my adopted cat, Barbara. She has a scratched eye, thanks to her butthead brother, Jericho. I witnessed the doctor and staff console a grieving couple whose doggie was just given a grim prognosis. They were so kind and caring. I was impressed.The vet explained everything he was doing with Barbara. The assistant was excellent with her, and she usually is petrified of most people. The cat, not the assistant. I don't even know the assistant. She could be fine or she could have social anxiety, I don't know. Probably not, though, because she talked to me. The assistant, not the cat.The visit and treatment costs were not exorbitant and they even let me borrow a kitty carrier! I think they felt sorry for Barbara and me with our repurposed cardboard box and bath towel lid.We'll be back in 5-7 days for a check-up! Read Less

The most caring and compassionate staff. I bought a puppy without knowing it had parvo I was devastated and every staff member I came in contact with was beyond sweet. From the dr to the staff my puppy  couldn't have been better taken care of.  He did pass but they truly did everything possible to try and save him. Not sure how anyone could give this quality veterinary hospital anything less then a 5 star rating.  I have lived in the mountains near here since 1988, and during this period of time have had a number of pets.  They have all been seen, and treated by the Vets at Rim Forest Animal Hospital and never once have I ever had anything but the most trusting and loving care given to my animals.  Sometime because they are a small rural business they, like any business of this size serving a vast and large area can become overwhelmed, but that being said it should not be confused with their dedication to providing the best care possible to your pet.  I'm just grateful that we have such a high level of care in an area that is sparse on services. The facility itself is decent. But the service provided by the veterinarian himself was cold and non compassionate. First of all I have a 70 lb pitbull and picking him up by his harness and tossing him in the exam table when I am bring him in to find out if he has a tumor. That type of behavior is not acceptable. The ladies who work in the office how ever are delightful. But I do not recommend this office. Read Less

Very caring and compassionate, knowledgeable, professional and friendly, this is as good as it gets.We took our dog in for abdominal pain and in about an hour, she had blood tests, x-rays and an ultrasound!  That wouldn't happen at most local vets. You'd be sent elsewhere for the ultrasound.We love our new vet who agrees with our holistic approach and praised us for feeding our dog a raw diet.  We've found a new vet for our pets and couldn't be happier. I recently had to have my cat put down, and I went here to have him euthanized. This was my first time here, so I didn't know what to expect, but when I had called to make an appointment over the phone, the lady was very helpful and sweet. When I arrived, they promptly brought me to a private room with my dear kitty, and gave us some time. After about five minutes or so, the assistant came in and was very apologetic and understanding of my situation, and explained to me the procedure, which gave me comfort in knowing he wouldn't feel any pain and that it would be quick. The whole procedure took about 15 minutes, and after I was on my way home to bury my furry friend. They are very professional and caring people, I really appreciate the service they have provided. I highly recommend this vet for anyone in the area, for you will not be disappointed! Read Less

Dr. Coleman really takes his time evaluating our dog.  Our dog (who hates going to the vet) did very well and wasn't afraid.  Ours was an emergency call on a Saturday night and he came to evaluate very cheerfully.  I wish he was our at home vet.  Katy also was very sweet and helpful. Read Less

I just want to say that this is the best animal hospital ever. We were having problems learning how to express our dogs bladder and one of the Vet tech's 'Robert' actually took the time to come out to our house to show us.
