Rude beyond rude!! The receptionist at this office needs to find a new job...If she doesn't like her job anymore or can't find compassion in herself then she should let someone who does do her job! My fiancée and I were trying to take our sick dog in to be seen. They said it was too late in the day (2pm) and referred us to Atlantic Street (which was an ok experience). When we tried to come back in the following day as a follow up they told us that the dog was fine and reluctantly made an appointment for us to bring him in. By the time we were able to be seen it was too late for our fur baby. We ended up having to have him put to sleep. The receptionist in the front was one of the rudest people I have ever come in contact with. We were already sad and upset about our dog and she just made the experience 10 times worse. No one should have to deal with that kind of snottiness. Needless to say... we will NEVER take another animal there. Read Less

Everyone of my fur-babies have been loyal patients of Dr. Hendrie and her wonderful staff since the year 2000. Even when we moved out of Rio Linda (sometimes we were quite a distance away) I ALWAYS drove however far it was to have my babies seen by Dr. Hendrie. They are all so compassionate, empathetic, sincere, caring, genuine and beautifully amazing people at Rio Linda Vet. I had to make the most painful decision of my life in December 2014 to end my first fur-son's suffering and let him go to the Rainbrow Bridge to be at peace and healthy again while he waits for me. Dr. Hendrie had known him his entire life since day 1 and she let us come after hours for privacy and as I layed there on the floor holding him as he took his last breath just as I always promised him I would be there, Dr. Hendrie let me lay there holding him for as long as I needed. My husband had to come pull me off of Monte after over 45 minutes of laying there crying and talking to him, apologizing for not going with him at the same time. Dr. Hendrie nor any of her staff members were upset or bothered that I stayed so late they were very understanding and asked if I was sure I was ready to leave. Monte was 1 month shy of his 13th birthday. 2 days later I brought home a beautiful kitten, Patches "Boo" to help ease the pain and heartbreak my 2 children and I were suffering. Tragically, Patches just passed away June 2017 at only 2 1/2 years old. Monte and Patches both were cremated and we have their Pawprints in stone with their names thanks to the cremation company and to Rio Linda Vet as well because I had no idea where to seek cremation for a pet and to my surprise the Pawprint was such a beautifully perfect keepsake that they are so wonderful for including. Sorry for the long story, I could go on and on about how wonderful Dr. Hendrie and her staff are but quite honestly, I strongly advise you to personally go see for yourself. I have never been here and nor will I ever go here. The receptionist or whoever the cranky woman is that answers the phone is always SO rude to me every time I call. This is the second time I have called to ask a SIMPLE question, and all I got was attitude. I work for a mobile veterinary clinic and I have an actual education in animal medicine, and she attempted to tell me the things I was saying about my pets, were wrong. Last time I checked, receptionists are not vet techs or veterinarians. Sorry but if you want people to actually want to come here I suggest getting a receptionist who knows how to provide decent customer service. I'd rather take my time and money to a facility with a staff that knows how to be decent human beings to their potential clients. Read Less

Dr. Hendrie is fantastic! Her reception staff is good although one is a bit stand offish at times forgetting that she may be dealing with worried or sad pet owners, but her Vet Tech's are great. The people overall are great, it's just a little pricey when compared to other Veterinary Clinics, but my pets are cared for and loved on when they are here and so I keep coming. Read Less

Dr. Hendrie is a wonderful, caring veterinarian.  I feel extremely fortunate to have her as our vet.  She is very thoughtful and considers the animal's comfort. The bill is always reasonable and generally less than I expect.  I've had everything from nail clippings to successful tumor surgeries performed by Dr. Hendrie.  Her veterinary service always exceeds my expectations!  Thank you Dr Hendrie! I tried to make an appointment here to put my 9 year old dog to sleep. They outright refused to help me because they had never seen that specific dog before. My family has been going here for years. My dad put our first dog to sleep here and I had my rabbit cremated through them. Never again will I go here. I had proof my dog was not going to get better and was in a lot of pain. They didn't care and she suffered a lot longer than she needed to. Read Less

Dr. Hendrie and her staff are the most caring around. She finds a way to make the care reasonable both in terms of time and $$. Sometimes there is a wait because she will squeeze you in when there's a true need and I appreciate that because it has been our pet once or twice. I do wish they were open longer hours/weeks, but its a small veterinary clinic and they do deserve their days off too. I've never had poor care or poor treatment and I've been going here for more than 15 years. Read Less

Best place to bring my pets have had myndogs and cats here. My pets always seem to be taken care of amd treated right the first time, and always have got better. I brougt my  week old lab puppy in to see wht was wrong with her. They checked her out and called me and wemt over what they found and sent her home with me. Dr. Tammy Hendrie and her staff are absolutely incredible. We have been taking our pet there since our move to Rio Linda 4 years ago. Comparatively their high level of pet knowledge, excellent customer service & really competitive pricing makes them #1 in our book. They are caring, considerate and all of them just love helping animals. My 2 dogs are never afraid and go ballistic when they see the staff. The thoroughness of the examinations, follow-up & information they provide you is incredible. They go way beyond in care and service than the normal vet hospital. 5 Stars for Sure.
