Although the Vet. Is Very Good I don’t care for the process . As a New client the front desk lady is there physically but not mentally when I had several private conversation regarding my dogs well being at No Time even when asked about Cost . As a business owner he should feel comfortable with that discussion. Rather an employee whom was no where near the room who does his charging $$ Also as a client I don’t like surprise charges. Why am I being charged an office visits when I’m already paying overpriced services. I happen to be out shopping and met a woman who shared my concerns and had similar problems. Not to be mean but the woman had a constant memory problem , I had repeated information that was on my dogs chart and she continued to repeat & forget. I was frustrated yet I had empathy . That was only one concern . I decided to find another vet. who is comfortable making medical and financial decisions . Again the doctor is a Good Vet. but for me I’m not willing to pay an office visit on top of over priced services that are already included . I feel like we’re being $$ Gouged. Especially when our concern is the well being of our babies 🐕🐶. My baby is a service dog , I need to TRUST the Dr. & Vet. staff . And yes everyone is very Nice. Read Less

The personnel are so very nice took both my Maltese dogs in they did a good job on grooming them one had an ear infection and took extra care not to get water in eat they cleaned her ears being extra careful not to irritate the ears. Will continue taking my dogs there. Good job ladies Read Less

My 3 dogs got kennel cough while in boarding here for 4 days. One has had it for over a week. I called to see if there is anything they can help me out with. I spoke to Bonnie who brushed me off stating my dogs were exposed to kennel cough before I they came in. My dogs have never been exposed to it and they were very healthy and happy when I dropped them off. She said she would have to talk to the vet and call me back. Never received a call back. My dogs we not sick at all and they have their vaccines. This is due to poor sanitation. I will not be taking them there again. Extremely disappointed. Read Less

My Princess a Boston Terrier was diagnosed over 3 years ago with Addison's and with medication has been doing very well! I was blessed to have her another three years only because Dr Faria and staff caught it early she had to be put to sleep this last Tuesday and they are so caring there. This is the only place to which we bring our pets. The staff are always warm and welcoming, and one can easily tell that they constantly have the best interest of their patients in mind. One time, we had to take our dog to the emergency vet in the middle of the night, and the next morning, Bonnie from Atchison called and asked how our pet was before the office was even open! I have brought my dogs here for care for over 10 years. Dr. Faria and staff are always welcoming and make you feel like family. They were compassionate and made me feel at peace when I had to put one of my dogs to sleep. When treating my dogs they are always gentle and explain their processes thoroughly. TERRIBLE VET! They did nothing when they diagnosed my one cat with Pancreatitis and when my other cat threw a clot they did NOTHING but let him lie in the cage. When it came to Euthanizing him Vet put the needle in the one place my boy could feel and made him scream in pain and try to climb over my shoulder to get free. Later the Vet tried to tell me he never screamed or tried to get away. THEY ALSO refused to release my cat's records to me or the new Vet I went to! They are liars and I would not recommend this place to anyone who loved their animal! Read Less

Atchison Vet is a great place. I'm very happy I found them and it was by total luck. My 2 year old pup got a foxtail somewhere on the way back from Lake Tulloch or at the lake. I needed a Vet ASAP and knew there would be some in the Oakdale and/or the Riverbank area. I saw Atchison Vet on the way to the lake so I stopped in coming back and hoped they could help. Sure enough they were open and helped us right away. They were so friendly and welcoming.  After the foxtails were removed my pup was so much better. I have been coming back ever since that incidence for my cats and dogs. The Vet is great and fun to chat with. The staff is awesome. Their service is top notch and they tell you exactly what is going on. There is no doubt about this place. I would recommend them to anyone! Read Less

Atchison Vet has been my home base for many years. In the central valley (Modesto) area it can't get any better.....believe me. My mom, dad, and family all take their pets to Dr. D. I'm not certain what the 1 star is about but I am 100% confident in saying my family has always been happy here....trust me it's a great place.A big issue for me (coming from the bay area) is the parking. The location and parking is very easy for a drop off or pick up......saves me time with my insane Border Collie Sam. They are always reliable, on time. and have a family attitude when I walk in with my pup. They know your name and your pets name which feels awesome when stopping in to say hi.......which I do often. My family has taken our dogs and cats to the doc for as long as I could remember. I now live in the bay area of California for work and still drive to Riverbank for any Vet services I have for Sam or Mixie the Trixie Cat. There is no other choice for Veterinary serives in my opinion.  Next door to the hospital is the boarding and grooming side which Sam and Mix love until they get a bath. l get Sam and Mixie cleaned up every time I come. It's a one stop shop. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for Vet services. Read Less

My mom took her cats here for several years.  They were always pushing her to have her indoor-only cats vaccinated on a yearly basis, and would send out timely reminder cards to bring the cats in for their annual shots ($$$).  She not typically one who questions the advice of a veterinarian when it comes to the health of her pets, so she just went along with what was recommended.  It was only after she switched to a different vet that she learned her cats were being way over-vaccinated.  She was shocked to find out not only was there no health benefit provided by such frequent vaccinations, her cats could even be at increased risk of cancer as a result.  Unfortunately, one of the animals just succumbed to cancer and had to be put to sleep. Whether or not over-vaccination contributed to this, we will never know. Moral of the story: if your veterinarian still recommends yearly vaccines for cats, know that it is totally contrary to today's veterinary knowledge, and your animal's well-being might not be their main consideration.
