This is the best vet in Riverside. We used to go to a vet in Highland but when they couldn't diagnose our dog we had to try a new vet. As soon as the vet saw our dog she knew he had Addison's disease. She was able to give him a shot and now he has some medication to take but 7 years later and he's still alive. After a terrible experience at Arlington Animal Hospital, I came here after speaking to the great staff on the phone. We have found our Vet!!! The Doc we worked with was incredible and advised us against spending the big money where we could skip it, and helped us with all kinds of home treatment options, and now our kitty is happy and playful (he's my cat-follows ME around and loves me!), and almost all better from sever bronchial pneumonia. I'm really not sure how I feel about this place. I am new to the area and had not yet found a veterinarian. I saw all the great reviews and decided I would give it a try when my dog had problems itching and biting herself. I am a first time dog owner of a 4yr old Chihuahua and my dog had never had fleas before so I was unaware of the symptoms. I assumed that maybe she was allergic to something. To make a long story short she had fleas and this place charged me over $200 for flea medication which was needed but a host of other things that I don't believe was necessary to treat the fleas. Of course I did not no and paid the money only to find out from other people that all she needed was the flea treatment which should have been around $50 or so. As far as the staff they were very friendly and professional. I just feel like I was taken advantage of I don't think I will be back. Read Less

I rescued a pitbull back in march of 2017 and she was a mess. she was sick, emotionally broken, scared, nervous, basically everything. I live in Yorba Linda but after seeing the good reviews I decided to drive all the way down to Riverside to try it out and I am not disappointed. I loved this place. This is only my second time, I had seen dr. Park preciously and he was great. I'm sad to hear he passed away. Dr. Kim was amazing. I am new to Riverside and had to make the most difficult decision about my sweet dog Nellie.  She was 16, deaf, blind and suffering from arthritist. I couldn't be more grateful for Dr. Kim and his staff.  Dr. Kim got down on the floor with us and Nellie and talked us through the options.  He was caring and sensitive and told us to take as much time as we needed to make the decision.  We decided that it was time, and Dr. Kim walked us through exactly what would happen.  My girls and I sat on the floor with Nellie and loved her up as she went to sleep; Dr. Kim gave us space to grieve and be with our girl.  The entire office staff was sympathetic and kind.  We have three more dogs at home and we are certain Dr. Kim will be our vet going forward. There is nothing more painful than having to say goodbye to your pet.  It has taken me this long to be able to even write about it without being overcome.  I didn't know where to start when I found out our Lab of 14 years had cancer and had about a month left.  I asked around because although the vet that gave us the diagnosis was okay, he was not the one I wanted to help me with the next step. After a friend mentioned Animal Hospital Of Riverside as an option I called.  The person I spoke to was wonderful. Knowing the end was near, I decided I should call and start getting information so I would be prepared when the time came.  Little did I know when I called that Friday afternoon, tomorrow would be that dreaded day.  After calling around, there was an immediate difference in the sympathy and tone of the call with this office.  They gave me the information I needed and I had comfort of knowing I would be ready.  That night was a bad night.  I could tell the quality of my Hunters life was going faster than the month timeline I had been given from the "other not to be mentioned" Vet.  I called first thing in the morning and told them I felt Hunter was ready.  Although they were fully booked, she fit me in and through my sobs was patient.   I wish I could remember your name but YOU WERE OUTSTANDING.  I arrived 10 min late and met w the Doctor.  I could tell he wanted to give Hunter more time, gave me options as I would want a "good vet" to do.  Not just easily put my baby to sleep.  After taking time he didn't have with me, on a busy Saturday, going over the x rays I had brought showing the tumor and the video I had taken of my precious Hunter that showed her in distress, he begrudgingly helped me say good bye.  We both knew at that point it was right.   Didn't rush me.  Told me to stay as long as I needed to and ignore whatever we heard in the lobby just outside the door.  We elected to have our family member Hunter cremated.  Within a week she was back home with us in a beautiful memorial box.   A card from the office came a week later.  Each member had signed that card and wrote a personal note.  I want to thank everyone that helped me on that emotional day.  Easily one of the worst days of my life was made into a beautiful memory because of every little thing you did right.  From first call to last Kleenex at your office, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  RIP HUNTER Read Less

my mom took her dogs here to get their rabies shot. they called her and her 3 dogs into the hallway and gave them all their shots WITHOUT an examination. My mom got her dogs home and as she took one to the back he began to thrash and was breathing hard and collapses and died. my mom called and told them what happened and they said "were sorry" then said they could cremate him. my mom responded that she didn't have money for that and they didn't even offer to pay it. they gave no explanation to my mom what caused her dogs death. and I'm still waiting for the Dr. Kim to get out of the patients room to return my call, which is strange since my mom's dogs didn't get a room. So sad this happened and the front desk had attitude and chuckled her way when I said that the dog shouldn't die after having a rabies shot. and she said it wasn't the rabies. Read Less

My cat visited the Animal Hospital of Riverside for the first time today to get some dental work done.  Dr. A. Kim and the staff were extremely helpful.  They genuinely cared about the well being of my cat, even though he was a screaming ball of angry orange fluff.  The facilities were very clean, the office had no detectable smell, and everything seemed well maintained.  I highly recommend their services and thank them for a positive experience! We've taken our dogs here several times since moving to the area less than six months ago.  We had a Golden Retriever who had tumors on her liver and we knew the inevitable was upon us.  Dr. (brother) Kim was SO caring and compassionate, as was the staff.  My daughters and I were able to spend as much time as we needed with our beloved Bair before Dr. Kim gently administered her medication.  He spoke softly and with the same amount of compassion if she was his own pet.  We later took our Annie for incontinence issues and saw Dr. (sister) Kim.  She immediately recognized that Annie may have Cushing's Disease (which our previous vet said she couldn't possibly have after someone suggested it to us).  She, too, was extremely gentle and caring and talked us through all the options.  In all cases, we have been given an estimate for treatment and medication in advance so we can make an informed decision on how to proceed.  We couldn't be more pleased with both Dr. Kims and the staff at Animal Hospital of Riverside! I can't put into words how pleased I am with these Veterinarians.  They are  highly knowledgeable and compassionate.  They perform all examinations and injections in the exam room and not in some back room.  I really feel by doing this I see how well the care my cat gets.  Their prices are also great.  At previous Vets I paid for everything they did such as checking ears and eyes.  Here this Vet had this as part of their normal exams.  So refreshing to see a business that looks out for the clients. We sadly had to put our Lab mix, Kanin to rest. It was such a HARD decision but we knew when we rescued him he would have a shorter life than other dogs. We had 11 plus beautiful years with him.  We had moved back to Riverside after a long while and I looked to yelp to help find a new vet. Who gets a 5 star rating?  Hardly any!  But because of the reviews we landed here!  My husband had the hard job of taking Kanin in and being by his side for his last journey. NOT EASY!  They were compassionate and kind. They did not try to talk him into procedures that were pointless. I brought my dog here for the first time to have a lump on his ear looked at.... and the doctor was very sweet and told me all he needs is some Neosporin! Phew what a relief! And as I was leaving, he asked if it would be okay if he waived the office visit fee for me!  So I left with not only a good bill of health for my pup, but also a 0$ bill! These new owners are just a money mill. Dr. Parks understood what were house pets and working animals. I have many hunting dogs. These are not house dogs. They pound thru the brush in the water and on land. They may from time to time scratch there corneas on foliage. This is a common thing with hunting dogs and Dr. Parks understood that very well. I could get eye drops and anything I needed at any time from him to keep my dogs without pain and in good health. This new owner is only about the money. He and is staff would not even sell me eye drops for my dog without a $100 consultation with the new owner. This is bad business. To disregard the previous customers relationship with the vet and make a new cost relationship is a gigantic mistake. I will never pay $140 for eye drops from a huckster when I can get them for $27 online. I have files that are more than 30 years old at Animal Hospital of Riverside and they might as well throw them away. They do me no good as a service or a vet. Service is a lot more than they provide. My favorite vet! I've brought my dog in for a few check ups and even brought her in to get spayed. Every visit with was great and the Dr. even helped us out and lowered the cost on some things my dog needed. So gracious!My only complaint has to do with one of the girls on staff. When I asked if i could pay by check , the girl made a face and asked "well is there money in the account?" and then laughed. Yea I found that kind of rude and insulting. And it's always that one girl that seems to say the wrong thing all the time. I don't think she means to offend anyone, but its something that needs to be worked on. This morning we brought our beautiful and beloved Maggie to this hospital because her health had deteriorated recently. She was an 11 year old black lab. My wife and two adult kids made the tough decision to let her go to sleep one last time and end her suffering. I want to thank everyone we met today. Forgive me I can't remember your names but you know who you are. Your kindness, patience and compassion helped so much and you should feel good about how you do your job. Staff was awesome.price was great! $35 for consultations and didn't try to do unnecessary tests etc. Also the Doc was so helpfull! Spent so much time with us giving tips and info about taking care of my pets that had nothing to do with the problem we went in for so he wasn't one of those who can care less about their patients and customers and just the money. I have gone here for 3 years and have been treated wonderfully! I have two dogs and my boxer is allergic to so many things, including the rabies vaccine. Doctor Park and staff have always been so wonderful with taking care of my boxer's problems and being very attentive to her when she almost died from the rabies vaccine. They were wonderful and continue to be wonderful. With my other dog, she is a Catahoula mix and has high anxiety when it comes to grooming her or having the doctor giver her exams or shots and the staff and Doctor Park have always been sooo wonderful in helping her and doing what needs to be done. Dr. Park is a genuine and caring doctor. All of the staff at Animal Hospital or Riverside are kind. I have been taking my two dogs there for a couple of years now. I would not go anywhere else. I live in Corona and drive to Riverside just so my dogs can be cared for by Dr. Park. The prices are low and Dr. Park tries the cheapest route for his customers in order to help care for animals. He is amazing. The staff and Dr. Park only do what is necessary in relation to costs. I had a dog that was really sick and before finding Dr. Park another vet told me he would have to be hospitalized and cost me 1500.00. Dr. Park saved my dogs life without any hospitalization and only a couple hundred dollars later. Dr. Park has neutered both my dogs, vacinnated them, cared for them when they are sick and did an ear surgery on one of my dogs. He is great. Now that I found Dr. Park and his staff that's the only place I take my dogs. 100 % recommended!! Great staff and doctor. Read Less
