I could not BE MORE DISAPPOINTED with Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital. At one time, they were the most caring and compassionate vets in the area. Unfortunately, that seems all of have changed dramatically. I know that they have been focusing on buying other veterinary practices in the area, and their focus on success at-all-costs is apparently seriously harming their business. It now seems to center only on the money! I have been taking my Labrador to their practice since she was 8 weeks old. She is now almost 5 years old. Whenever I get their reminder postcards about vaccinations or tests that might be due, I get her to their clinic immediately. Less than a week ago, my dog was in for all of her booster shots – I believe that the veterinarian administered 4 different vaccines. Today, I called to arrange to board her next weekend, as I have done many times in the past. I was very surprised when the receptionist advised that she could not be boarded because she did not have a special influenza vaccine that they have only recently made necessary to board a pet in their facility. I explained that my pet was there just days ago, and if this vaccine was so important, why was she not administered the vaccine when she was there? Certainly, it is no mystery that I have boarded the dog with them many times when I travel out-of-town. I got the run-around and was promised that I would shortly receive a return call. Hours later, the veterinarian who looked after my dog just days ago called to say that she should have discussed their new requirements with me, but for reasons yet unknown, it slipped through the cracks. So, despite the fact that this dog has been there faithfully for years for all of her tests and shots, and she was there less than a week ago, they refused to board her next weekend. Apparently, the clinic is so focused on buying up other veterinary practices that they have lost touch with what once made them so successful - being responsive to pet owners and providing quality customer service. I suspect that this newly mandated requirement for an influenza vaccine (which is not required by any other clinic I called today) is simply a way to raise additional revenue – all of which is especially annoying for pets that they have looked after since birth. I will be visiting their clinic tomorrow to get a print-out of her medical history and immunizations, and I will NEVER use them again. There are lots of other vets in the Rocklin, Lincoln, and Roseville area – you do NOT need to deal with these people. Find somewhere else – you and your pet will be better for it. Read Less
