These guys need to get their scheduling/reception in order. We've had 3 appointment that have fallen through in the last two weeks. First: was "we have a new girl and we shouldn't have scheduled you then" Second: was a "family emergency" Ok I get it that's understandable. Then my wife reschedules for today and I show up with the appointment card in one hand and my cat in the box in the other: Third: "sorry, you're not in the system we can't help your cat today" So even with a written appointment card with date and time I was out of luck. My Mom, took my dog, Xena, there, it was the first time. They werez very helpful and accommodating. There were several dogs and he was kind enough to come outside to cut ,Xena's nails. Very clean place and would never go anywhere else again. Both persons working there are pleasant and courteous. Read Less

Don't go to this vet!!! the staff "manager" is rude and unhelpful. I am co-founder of a very large chow rescue in Rosamond with support of Martha Stuart and Tom Cruise. Our rescue in one a few rescues that takes sick dogs from being put to death from pounds due to sickness...I had a very sick chow tried to get an appt and was told to busy with 5 surgeries told to make an appt for next day which I did...dog died that afternoon of something that could have prevented death if treated.... if the rude manager would have had a hart and made an appt. The other staff person tried to reason with her to let me bring the dog in but the manager would not allow me to. She was rude and very nasty. I was in line in Albertsons tonight waiting to check out and over heard two other individuals express the same experience as i experienced with this vet which prompted me to write this post Read Less

The best vet...ever. Compassionate and ole fashioned kindness. Fees are reasonable. Staff and vet are compassionate and kind. Getting harder to get an appointment due to his popularity which says a lot. Available electronically after hours for emergencies. Nuff said. Read Less

All of my animals have been going to to Dr Rich for the past couple of years (the other vet office in town discriminated against my pitbull mixes). My animals actually enjoy going to the vets office & the ones left at home are upset!  He treated our Boo kitty for diabetes, extending the time and quality of his life. When the end came the entire clinic treated my family with compassion and mourned with us. The techs all loved him, even taking selfies with on visits. Sherry, one of my sharpei/pit mixes has chronic inflammation & loss of muscle strength (from age). Dr Rich has been wonderful in treating her and helping to keep her comfortable. She absolutely loves him and loves meeting the other animals. The clinic charges the lowest amount they can while staying in business and even offer a $10 shot clinic every Saturday. I would not take my animals anywhere else!!!As for the review by Aleanna J. It is not the clinics responsibility to keep your dogs in your home/yard. It is your responsibility. If they constantly have to take time away from patients because your dogs are loose they have every right to charge you. Read Less

If I could give zero stars I would. I have never personally interacted with the doc, I live near by with escapee dogs. All of my interations with the staff have been negative such that I will never recomend they to any one. Oasis has made enough money off of taking my dogs and charging me to get them back to be able to pay for one of them to get spayed... now she is pregnant. Continually I tell them to either return them to my back yard, which is 30ft from their unsanitary holding area, or leave them be so I can corral that back in. They charge 20$each, that is 5 $ more than I pay for dog food every two weeks. Needless to say, I am urked by Oasis veterinary. Read Less

The first time I took one of my pets to Sierra Oasis, I was a little bit shocked when Dr. Rich walked into the room.  No lab coat, no high-and-mighty "I'm the doctor, so just smile and nod at whatever I say" attitude...just a regular guy who looks more like a surfer than a doctor.  His appearance wasn't a deterrent to me, though.  I LOVED it!!  In the next instant, I realized I had found a gem of a veterinarian.  Dr. Rich got down on the floor and gathered my very scared dog into his lap to give him snuggles and reassure him that everything was going to be okay!!  I have NEVER before seen a vet treat my animals as if they were creatures with feelings who needed to be comforted!!  Dr. Rich didn't begin to examine my dog until my dog was 100% comfortable with him.  I have received the same loving, caring attention from Dr. Rich and his staff every time I have taken my animals (both my own pets as well as foster pets I care for) to Sierra Oasis.  Dr. Rich even met me at the clinic one night at about midnight when one of my foster puppies got sick, and that was after he had talked with me via Instant Messaging on Facebook to help me ascertain whether or not the puppy needed to be seen on an emergency basis or if he could wait until the clinic opened in the morning.  I highly recommend Dr. Rich and Sierra Oasis Animal Care to anyone needing veterinary care for their furbabies.  They truly care more about your pets than they do about the almighty dollar...something that is, unfortunately, very rare in today's society. I have never met a veterinarian who will lay on the floor with your sick dog and cuddle him while giving him a check-up. Dr. Rich is one of the most dedicated people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting: he truly cares for his patients, and it shows in the compassionate way he treats each and every one of them. I have been taking my dogs to Sierra Oasis and have followed Dr. Rich from one location to another because I truly believe no one will care for my puppies the way he does! Took wonderful care of our dog when he got an abcess on his head and needed in drained. Took him in at the end of the day when they were already busy and had an emergency case they were handling. Took great care of him overnight, drained and cleaned his abcess and had great after care to make sure it healed well. I recommend them to everyone I know. Dr. Rich is a wonderful and loving Vet who you can tell truly loves and cares for animals. Read Less
