Stephanie Darrow quoted a procedure at $160 but charge $400. She is NOT honest. If you consider hiring this vet... be careful for undisclosed extra charges.

I am so sad to post this about the veterinary hospital all my pets have gone to when I was growing up in Rosamond. My parents called me since I have 15 years experience in veterinary specialty hospitals because they have a feral cat in their neighborhood that they said was all of a sudden paralyzed. I came over to look at the cat and believe the cat may have had a saddle thrombus (clot from the heart to paralyze the read end). I called Kern Vet and told the receptionist the story and she told me they were too busy today. I asked if she could ask someone higher up about this since this is known to be extremely painful for the animal and she stated that they were too busy and the earliest they could euthanize him would be Monday. I explained how this was extremely inhumane and they should be ashamed since a euthanasia would take such a small amount of time to put this animal out of pain and suffering.
Knowing veterinary medicine in general practice, emergency, as well as specialty hospitals I have NEVER experienced a hospital with such little compassion as I just experienced. When I called Dr. Bosman at North Valley Vet he had no issue with helping this animal no longer suffer, even on his busy Saturday schedule.

I am editing my review to 5 stars as when my dog was dying their compassion was amazing. Their prices are not as high as everywhere else. I was able to afford a private cremation.

A few things I noticed: there is a discount for seniors, and military.
There is a shot clinic, Monday thru Friday! Discount for cash.

The Veterinarian seems good and was good w my dog. I am not giving 5 stars as when I brought my dog in to be spayed, I was NOT told ahead of time to bring proof of rabies.
So of course then confusion and frustration occurred, when I was told I should have brought it.
They were kind enough to call the vet who did the vaccination and get the "proof" , so it ended up ok, and they ended up doing the spay on my dog.
The surgery was impeccable and she healed up incredibly fast, w a hardly noticeable incision.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Plus they are far more reasonable priced than a lot of other vets that we have been to. I highly recommend taking your pet here.

Great, loving, caring staff. Doctors are wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. They also to alternate treatments (acupuncture/chiropractic and cold laser therapy) and meds. As well as traditional medicine. They even do in house orthopedics for very reasonable prices. Plus they do boarding as well. Best place to take your pet in the AV for all around care.

I am doing this review from what I know or have experience with other people, I was working for a local woman who had two dogs, on a few occasions she took one of her dogs in an emergency she diagnosed the dog and gave medication which was very expensive but what made me do a review was that I feel she knew that the dog was not going to make it for very long but still chose to prescribe medication and a week later the dog had to be euthanized, that too me sounds like she just wanted to get the $1000

I took my dog in there after it had been bitten by a snake!!!! It was defecating on itself, shaking and convulsing in my wife's arms.
Took 10 minutes for anyone to come to the front counter.

Told me it was normally 75 for an office visit but this was at least double just for the exam because no appointment and I just showed up in the middle of day. After 5 mins of her almost making us feel like we had inconvenience her... she gave us another veterinarians card. LOL so I took her advice and left... started to become obvious... take my dog to another vet because she obviously didn't care my dog.

My poor puppy was suffering with some kind of skin condition and I brought her in on Thursday night thinking I could get her some relief, but the "secretary" said oh no we are only a clinic and I can'...
My poor puppy was suffering with some kind of skin condition and I brought her in on Thursday night thinking I could get her some relief, but the "secretary" said oh no we are only a clinic and I can't help you because I am just the secretary. Great I will not be recommending help for my pets anymore from you. There was no empathy so I have no recommendations for you. thank you very much

I am so sad to post this about the veterinary hospital all my pets have gone to when I was growing up in Rosamond.
