I just want to notify everyone that Dr. Michael Liu just took over this Hospital recently.  I believe just a few months ago.  So any bad reviews, it was before he took ownership.  Please keep that in mind while reading the reviews.After a couple of visits here, this will be my go to Vet.  I rescued a kitten a month ago and my kitten's first vet visit was at VCA Foothill in Pasadena.  I went there based on reviews and recommendation and I was not happy with that Vet office.  So I rescued my kitten Khaleesi a month ago.  The first week I got her she got sick.  Sneezing constantly and runny nose.  I took her to VCA and they didn't do anything.  They just told me to keep an eye on her and said it will probably go away on it's own.  They even told me to give her an x-ray but I chose to take her home and monitor her.  My kitten started sneezing every few seconds it seems like.  So the next day I brought her to Rosemead Animal Hospital.  Mary checked me in and I was seen by Dr. Michael Liu.  They were friendly.  Dr. Michael Liu examined my kitten and everything seemed fine.  It's hard to tell what the sickness could be from.  So he sent me home with 2 medications.  One antibiotics and the other one I can't remember.  I followed his exact instructions and Khaleesi was feeling much better within a couple of days.  I was scared she was going to die!  She finished her entire course of medication and she was 100% better!  I am so glad I brought Khaleesi here.I came back 3 weeks later which was last week for vaccinations and deworming and Khaleesi was in pain from the shots the day after.  She wouldn't let me touch her or hold her.  I called the office and spoke to Mary.  She spoke to Dr. Liu and he advised her to tell me to give it one more day and if she was not feeling better by Friday I should bring her in,  It wasn't even 48 hours since she received her vaccine and I know pain is normal lasting up to 48 hours but I get worried easily.Friday came around and Mary called me during the day to follow up on Khaleesi.  I wasn't able to answer the call but she left a message.  My heart melted hearing that voicemail because I didn't know they noted me down and to call me to check in on Khaleesi.  That shows how much they really care.  I got out of work late so they were close by the time I called back but Khaleesi was back to her normal self.  I called this past Monday and I spoke to Ariel.  I told her I received a voicemail and I just wanted to let them know Khalessi was fine.  Even Ariel was glad to hear Khaleesi was doing much better!I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital.  The 3 Staff that I have had contact with are very caring and that's important to me.  They care about your pet as if your pet was a part of their family as well.  I definitely recommend coming here.  Friendly and caring staff and the prices are great!  Much better than all the other vets I have called to price check prior to coming here but it's not even about the money.  It's about how they treat you and your pet. *STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE* I've been taking my dog here ever since she was 2 months old. But with the hidden fees I decided to find something cheaper and more within my budget. When I came back a few years later to ask for her paperwork. Dr. Shahi immediately snapped at me and said "Where have you been"? I explained that I opted for a clinic since the prices were more reasonable. He rolled his eyes and said "Well I don't even know if there's paper work for her anymore". He went to go look for it and came back with a folder. He took her file and ripped it up in front of me and said " I GUESS SHE WON'T BE COMING HERE ANYMORE"! and threw the other paper work I needed at me. I've never felt so belittled and appalled by such little professionalism. Dr. Shahi is the last person you want to take your pet to. He's rude, nasty and unprofessional. Honestly, I am very hesitant when it comes to taking my furbaby to the vet. I have not had any good experiences with our previous vet and most reviews I've read at multiple places talk about vets not caring or just trying to sell you on something. That was until we came here. My pup had been doing alot of scratching around his ears so I was worried he may have an ear infection and I also wanted to get a general check up to make sure everything is okay. My pup is a 2 year old white husky mix named Bolt. He's a little bigger than a standard husky, but very well behaved and in the past vets have always had me put a muzzle on him. This I am quite understanding about because he is a fairly big dog and for a stranger he can be very intimidating so I was already mentally prepared when I came. The vet however threw me off guard when instead of using a muzzle, he kneeled down, called Bolt over to sniff him and just petted him until Bolt was comfortable before he proceeded to do the check up. At no point during the visit did I feel mislead or that he was trying to sell me on a bunch of things. Turns out Bolt was doing just fine with no infection, but the vet still took the time to educate me on a few things to look out for when it comes to his health. Read Less

Called the office to ask for simple treament , staff told me it only cost 120$ sure sounds great , brought my dog in . The Doctor was asked for more "hey i need to do the blood check" bla bla bla just brought a lot things and each cost at least 100-150$ each , i told him please just follow the one we asked for it . He looked not happy with it but told me ok come back tomorrow and then we can do that . Ok thanks Doc i will see you tomorrow morning . I brought my dog back now another staff told me how much this one cost Doctor ? "220$ for it" and then he asking me to do some extra vaccine for it and it will cost another 140$ So total around 400$ right away . He said "If you dont do the vaccine we wont do the work ". What the hell !!! Why dont you just let me know the day before . OMG !!! Goodbye Doc never see you again :O . Guys just dont bring your pets to this clinic freaking terrible place ever :) Read Less

This is the best Vetinary Hospital in the whole San Gabriel Valley. The Doctor is so knowledgeable about the animals, and he truly cares for them. I have been taking my cats here for many years. The Doctor has saved their lives many times over, by diagnosing a problem ahead of time, before it got worst. As we all know, sometimes our pets get sick, and if you can catch it ahead of time, this is a blessing that you have a great Doctor who can help you with this. It helps your pet, and in the long run, it helps you from a very expensive bill. I truly believe this great Doctor, has been a GOD sent for me and my pets. I have referred other people to him, and they all have tell me how greatful they are that I did, and what a great Doctor he is. Read Less

I brought my dog here because she was extremely sick. She laid on the couch & he didn't even bother to glance at her. He just told me to take her elsewhere. Looking back, he recognized how bad of a condition she was in & knew she wasn't going to make it BUT sent us away BECAUSE he didn't want her to die in his clinic. What a selfish prick. My opinion of him was ok from a previous visit. But now I know how much of a heartless businessman he is & I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE EVER AGAIN. DR. SHAHI DID NOT CARE ABOUT MY DOG. HE ONLY CARED ABOUT HIS BUSINESS. Either way, I'm definitely going to tell my friends about what happened. I doubt they will want a vet who doesn't give a rat's ass to treat their beloved pets either. Read Less

Dr Shahi is a very good vet. His staff is also very nice and helpfull. He was taking great care of my husbands 15 year old German Shepard since he was a puppy. Now we have a 6 months old German Shepard and going to Rosemead Animal Hospital every time we need help. I would recommend this place to everyone.Read Less

This Doctor disclosed my personal information with the owner of a dog I found and took there looking to have an estimate for neutering. Two hours later I had the owner in a very confrontational attitude outside my house, this person scared my family and didn't even say "thanks for saving my dog". We went through a horrible situation just because this "DR" was so unprofessional to give my information to a stranger. We ended up having the police called. Besides that... His "low cost" neutering was $500. Pasadena Humane society charges $85 for this same service. This practice is a shame. I won't recommend you this place at all. Read Less
