On Sept 22 I made an appointment for Oct 1. The appointment was for my dog to get a bath and nail clippings, along with any necessary shots. When I got there, the animal health technician told me they didn't have time to do the bath today and I would have to reschedule for that. This is after I confirmed the appointment with them twice during the week. Don't plan to go back there again. They don't appear to be reliable. Read Less

I am highly upset and disgusted by a recent Facebook post conducted by one of your employees, Renee Winter. She posted an extremely racist message over a bill proposal to make Juneteenth a federal holiday. When I further questioned Renee, she proceeded to call me a "snowflake" and this further ensued a quite nasty exchange with me. She then unfriended me and continued to message me some nasty remarks in a private message. As a professional in your community and having grown up in the Rocklin/Roseville area, I believe this behavior is highly unacceptable by one of your staff and should take further review from your management. I've attached an image of the post your employee made, quoting specifically from Renee, "Why not make their day in February when it's their month?? Gay people don't get a special holiday...?!?!". I find this HIGHLY offensive and would never take my animals to a place that accepted this sort of view on individuals who may have skin that is a different color than their own. I hope you take this message seriously, as I take racism very seriously, and I believe this reflects poorly in your taste as a professional business. I've posted on Facebook a couple of times and someone who runs your social media has removed my complaint not once, but TWICE. Does this mean you condone racism? If so, this is horrific and I will make sure to tell everyone to stay away from your practice. Read Less

Frustrating to say the least. They are currently searching for a resident vet so we haven’t seen the same vet twice making it impossible to trust the diagnosis or level of care provided when going in for a follow up and the second vet seems puzzled by the original course of action taken. The rest of the staff is consistently pleasant and courteous which has been greatly appreciated. Read Less

I have been to this vet several times with my dog and was never impressed.  This last time, I needed more pain medicine for my dog as he has bad arthritis and they told me they wouldn't refill until he had blood work.  I guess they need blood work every 6 months.  It had only been 5 months so they could have given me a few so at least he would have some while waiting for the appointment and blood work to come back.  On top of that this required fasting.  So I fasted him all night and all day and when I went in and waited they came out and told me the person who made the appointment shouldn't have because the doctor wasn't in that day.  I was so mad!  My friend also took her cat in there that couldn't urinate and they just tried to take a urine catch and couldn't so they sent him home with meds for a parasite.  2 weeks later cat still has the same problem.  So she took him to a different vet and they said they should have taken urine with a needle if they couldn't get a free catch.  They found he had a horrible urinary tract infection.  This vet didn't do what they should have.  They seem uneducated and do very little for our babies.  We will never come back here! I've got a very reactive heeler, and this vet and tech were AWESOME with her. They also went through their first thoughts on diagnosis, and then actually listened to my feedback, and gave input about what else it could be. (It seems like it was the second, so it's great they were open to talking like that.) They let me hold my pup's head, and they were very understanding with her fearfulness (as a rescue, it can be really frustrating when people don't understand). Unfortunately, the other owners in the waiting room were not closely watching their dogs and/or could not control them. That is frustrating, but I think comes with the territory of any vet's office, and is not a reflection on this one. Not cheap, but reasonable and worth the price. Read Less

I love the vet here. She is truly amazing with our cat. The reason for my 3-star rating is availability. I called today (Tuesday) needing an appointment for our cat because she hasn't eaten or drank in two days, acting lethargic, and stopped grooming herself. All of which I explained to the receptionist. They can either get her in tomorrow at only one time (just so happens to be the ONE time it won't work) or we wait until Sat. NOTHING in-between. So, either it resolves itself, I find a new vet, or she dies. Apparently they do not leave open slots for emergencies or concerns. Beware. Read Less

I love the vet here. She is truly amazing with our cat. The reason for my 3-star rating is availability. I called today (Tuesday) needing an appointment for our cat because she hasn't eaten or drank in two days, acting lethargic, and stopped grooming herself. We have been using Dr. Heaton for almost 20 years. My parents use them and my sister. We often say that we wish we had Dr. Heaton as our own physician! We have had nothing but a great experience. Dr. Heaton is compassionate, caring and takes all the time you need to talk about your concerns and he will answer all your questions. I have never had any issue with anyone being rude...it has been just the opposite throughout the years. Read Less

I love this pet hospital and the staff. I took my kitty Rebel here for the first time a few days ago because she was not feeling well. Turned out she was in renal failure. I had to put her down a few days later and it broke my heart. They were kind and compassionate and treated us both very, very well. I am so happy I took her there. Today I received a sympathy card from the staff which was beyond kind. I can't say enough good things about them. Read Less

We absolutely love Dr Heaton and his staff. They literally have the most compassion for you and your animals. Dr Heaton always spends enough time with you and your pet making sure you are comfortable and know all of the details about what is going on with your pet. He will sit and answer any questions you may have and not make you feel rushed or like your a bother to him or holding him up. We recently put our dog down and he made the unpleasant experience as comfortable as he could. The staff is amazing as well and always helpful to get you in for appointments Read Less

Nice vet, but their boarding could be improved. They used to have some of the best daily rates for boarding, but recently raised their prices, and now they're more than other vets. They include food with the boarding, but don't offer a discount if you bring your own. Also, they aren't careful about sending you home with your pets belongings, even if you carefully labeled them and brought everything in a bag. Read Less

Andrea at the front desk is very rude! I have 3 dogs and all 3 have been to Dr. Heaton. Apparently Saturdays are very busy and I was in the waiting room for 45 minutes without seeing anyone. When Dr. Heaton came in and I said I had waited that long he said he "was doing the best he could". He also then walked out of the room. He apologized and all was good. Until I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with his daughter Andrea when I came in another day for the same problem. I was never told there was an extra fee for dropping off my dog for a few hours. I told her I wished she would have told me and she condescendingly told me that I didn't ask. She is incredibly rude. I told her I wouldn't be coming back and she said "that;s fine. You were rude to Dr. Heaton". I told her that he actually apologized to me and she said no he didn't. She said she was standing right there and he didn't. Are you kidding me? This is someone who obviously doesn't have the maturity level to deal with the public.My dog may have a tumor but compassion just isn't her thing. Just because you are related to the doctor doesn't make it a smart move to be rude to clients. This veterinary clinic is not worth the trouble. Life is too short to deal with people like her. I have had pets for 20 years and NEVER had any problems with anyone. Read Less

I have taken my animals to see Dr. Heaton for 16 years. He was amazing, the staff were always so nice, and they seemed to take really, really excellent care of our pets. However, in the last year I had taken my 9 year old pomerainian to have a suspicious limp looked at no less than 3 times. Everytime we went in we were brushed off without an xray or a real exam; saying that my dog was overweight, and when he lost the weight he'd lose the limp. Eventually he did lose the weight, and the limp persisted. The day after Christmas he stopped walking. When I called to make an appointment to find out what is wrong with him the staff were cold and rude, Dr. Heaton's fill in vet was in (a brusque imbecile worthy of his own review) and wouldn't be able to see him until later in the afternoon. Finally, after calling around we ended up taking him into an emergency vet at Loomis Basin Vet Hospital where we learned my dog has cancer in his hind leg, so bad that the bones there are so brittle they broke sometime in the last few days. Now I am faced with the terrible decision of how to deal with this. He will need to have his leg amputated, and hope the cancer hasn't spread. That will involve months of rehabilitation and pain management that he may not survive, and I can't really afford. I can't help but think, that if he had examined him more throughly, or taken an xray even once, we may have caught this sooner. Maybe before the break, and bone loss so he could keep the leg. They didn't give him cancer, by any means, but they also did nothing to look for any ailment either. Read Less

I took my 3 month old puppy to this vet on the recommendation of a co-worker. I was told that he just had an ear infection and that I should just leave him overnight. When I came in the next afternoon, the puppy was dead. No one thought to call me or to let me know he was getting worse. I know no doctor can perform miracles, but the staff seemed very cold when I asked why no one thought to let me know what was happening. I wouldn't send my enemy's snake to these people Read Less

I love the vet here. She is truly amazing with our cat. The reason for my 3-star rating is availability. I called today (Tuesday) needing an appointment for our cat because she hasn't eaten or drank in two days, acting lethargic, and stopped grooming herself. All of which I explained to the receptionist. They can either get her in tomorrow at only one time (just so happens to be the ONE time it won't work) or we wait until Sat. NOTHING in-between. I take all three of my dogs to this vet. The Dr. is great and really knows what he is talking about. He doesn't try to rip you off and gives you great service.

We have been using Dr. Heaton for almost 20 years. My parents use them and my sister. We often say that we wish we had Dr. Heaton as our own physician! We have had nothing but a great experience. Dr. Heaton is compassionate, caring and takes all the time you need to talk about your concerns and he will answer all your questions. I have never had any issue with anyone being rude...it has been just the opposite throughout the years. Read Less

I love this pet hospital and the staff. I took my kitty Rebel here for the first time a few days ago because she was not feeling well. Turned out she was in renal failure. I had to put her down a few days later and it broke my heart. They were kind and compassionate and treated us both very, very well. I am so happy I took her there. We absolutely love Dr Heaton and his staff. They literally have the most compassion for you and your animals. Dr Heaton always spends enough time with you and your pet making sure you are comfortable and know all of the details about what is going on with your pet. He will sit and answer any questions you may have and not make you feel rushed or like your a bother to him or holding him up. We recently put our dog down and he made the unpleasant experience as comfortable as he could. The staff is amazing as well and always helpful to get you in for appointments Read Less

Nice vet, but their boarding could be improved. They used to have some of the best daily rates for boarding, but recently raised their prices, and now they're more than other vets. They include food with the boarding, but don't offer a discount if you bring your own. Also, they aren't careful about sending you home with your pets belongings, even if you carefully labeled them and brought everything in a bag. Read Less

Andrea at the front desk is very rude! I have 3 dogs and all 3 have been to Dr. Heaton. Apparently Saturdays are very busy and I was in the waiting room for 45 minutes without seeing anyone. When Dr. Heaton came in and I said I had waited that long he said he "was doing the best he could". He also then walked out of the room. He apologized and all was good. Until I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with his daughter Andrea when I came in another day for the same problem. I was never told there was an extra fee for dropping off my dog for a few hours. I told her I wished she would have told me and she condescendingly told me that I didn't ask. She is incredibly rude. I told her I wouldn't be coming back and she said "that;s fine. You were rude to Dr. Heaton". I told her that he actually apologized to me and she said no he didn't. She said she was standing right there and he didn't. Are you kidding me? This is someone who obviously doesn't have the maturity level to deal with the public.My dog may have a tumor but compassion just isn't her thing. Just because you are related to the doctor doesn't make it a smart move to be rude to clients. This veterinary clinic is not worth the trouble. Life is too short to deal with people like her. I have taken my animals to see Dr. Heaton for 16 years. He was amazing, the staff were always so nice, and they seemed to take really, really excellent care of our pets. However, in the last year I had taken my 9 year old pomerainian to have a suspicious limp looked at no less than 3 times. Everytime we went in we were brushed off without an xray or a real exam; saying that my dog was overweight, and when he lost the weight he'd lose the limp. Eventually he did lose the weight, and the limp persisted. The day after Christmas he stopped walking. When I called to make an appointment to find out what is wrong with him the staff were cold and rude, Dr. Heaton's fill in vet was in (a brusque imbecile worthy of his own review) and wouldn't be able to see him until later in the afternoon. Finally, after calling around we ended up taking him into an emergency vet at Loomis Basin Vet Hospital where we learned my dog has cancer in his hind leg, so bad that the bones there are so brittle they broke sometime in the last few days. Now I am faced with the terrible decision of how to deal with this. He will need to have his leg amputated, and hope the cancer hasn't spread. That will involve months of rehabilitation and pain management that he may not survive, and I can't really afford. I can't help but think, that if he had examined him more throughly, or taken an xray even once, we may have caught this sooner. Maybe before the break, and bone loss so he could keep the leg. They didn't give him cancer, by any means, but they also did nothing to look for any ailment either. Read Less

I took my 3 month old puppy to this vet on the recommendation of a co-worker. I was told that he just had an ear infection and that I should just leave him overnight. When I came in the next afternoon, the puppy was dead. No one thought to call me or to let me know he was getting worse. I know no doctor can perform miracles, but the staff seemed very cold when I asked why no one thought to let me know what was happening. I wouldn't send my enemy's snake to these people Read Less
