They do not care about your pet just how much money the can make only take cash or credit , I took my dog in because her rattlesnake vaccine got abscess the wanted $ 1700.dollars to drain it and put a tube in it , and the dog had to be fully under ' also if a had to do C.P.R. on the dog it was another $500 dollars, try coming up with that on Social security . so the vet said he could drain it and put a tube in it for $780 well he did not put a tube in it and glued it up and it could not drain so I called them again witch it takes them all day to return your call ' they wanted $1700 t0 put the tube in and do the job right . So I called a old vet I used to go to and she said to come on in , She drain it and put a tube in it in front of me in less time then buying a tank of gas. I was out the door for $83.00 and back home in less then a hour, I now believe there is a GOD and she lives in George Town . John Greding Read Less

I'd like to update the previous rating with this one, we went and there was huge wait and unsanitary condition and most that worked there didn't seemed to enthusiastic, but however gladly the medicine we got from them actually helped our puppy survive and now he is well so I am raising this from 1 star to 3. Realistically it would be a 5 star for giving proper medicine to heal the dog which is most important. but a 1 or 0 star for customer service. and 0 for sanitation. Read Less

Please pay attention to the one star ratings. I am sure most would give zero stars if possible. This place is horrible! They made me wait for almost 5 hours stating they did not think my dog was that sick. When they finally took me back, the vet stated I had a very sick dog. We sat there and watched the staff have pizza delivered, the front desk was left unoccupied for long periods of time. They tried to charge me for an ultrasound that was never done. My dog did not make it. When he took a turn for the worse, no one contacted me. If I had not called, I would never have known. For the money they charge, service should be so much better. Do not be fooled by the response from the owner. He is uncaring and incredibly greedy. I did go to the Veterinary board, but was never allowed to see the records the vet submitted, so who knows what they said. It is very sad that they take such advantage when people are in a very stressful situation. Horrible, horrible place. Stay away! Read Less

The staff here is amazing! One of our dogs was hit by a car and taken here. Within 5 minutes, they assessed the condition of the dog, let us know all of our options, how much it would cost, and the likelihood of survival prior to doing anything. They were upfront, informative, honest and even reduce the bill to reflect actual costs instead of charging the full amount of the bill. That's customer service. I highly recommend! Read Less

We were a bit nervous because we had never been here before, however if we ever have any other immediate issues we will never take our dog anywhere else. We brought my mom's chihuahua in while she was in labor. We waited only 15 minutes to be seen. WORST vet I've ever been to. Rhonda was who saw our baby however she  had terrible "bed side manner" so to speak. We hear the other employees singing happy birthday to an animal in the next room while our dog had dead puppies in her.  She was very rude and incensetive gave no care that my mother was crying her eyes out just saying how many dead puppies there were over and over to her. And laughed at the fact that we were oblivious that the puppies were dead. Compassion is what should be used there was none. My mom said "I don't know how to sleep easy" and she laughed as she left the room to get the doctor. Read Less

Horrific. Despite one good doctor here (Dr Lisa Lachioma)... most everything else about this place would lead me to advise you to keep well away. From the blaring TWO TVs in the waiting room, to stressed and insensitive staff with little to no people skills, to neon lights and stark run-down treatment rooms, to a chaotic and "ER-atmosphere" back room, where you are obliged to leave your sick or dying pet in something like a war zone, if you have any way to get help for your animal elsewhere, do it. This place is archaic and missing the heart so essential to healing and dying peacefully. Read Less

I was very upset and walked out of the office without saying anything to the staff, but they were so great that I felt like I needed to come back and write this review. Every employee that my family and I encountered last night showed the most patience, sensitivity, and understanding that I could've asked for. They made sure my family and I understood the procedure and reassured me that it was a very peaceful process and that my dog would feel absolutely no pain. I can't thank you all enough for helping make an incredibly sad night as comfortable as possible for both my dog and my family. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you. Read Less

I was so upset that my dog had to have surgery and they were by my side every step of the way. Took our senior papillon in to our regular vet for a diagnosis. He was given an antibiotic shot and his vaccines.  A couple of hours later (evening) we noticed his muzzle was swollen. I took him to Atlantic Street Veterinary.  The vet tech thoroughly examined our dog at the desk, in my arms, noting that he did not seem to be in any distress. We waited for about 30 min. and then the tech took the dog to an exam room to be seen by a doctor.  When the tech returned, he said the doctor was not concerned, but they could give the dog a shot to reduce the swelling.  Since we had been there about an hour, and the dog seemed fine, I opted to take him home. There was no charge for the exam.  Awesome. Read Less

This facility is the most compassionate and caring place that you could bring your pet to when there is that kind of emergency... the kind that involves the tough decision to let go of your beloved pet.  Our 8 year old boxer Riddick, went into shock and needed immediate medical care.  We brought him in and the staff there took care of him right away, whisking him from us and into an area where he could be treated.  It was not much longer than 10 minutes that we were informed that he had a tumor on his spleen that had ruptured and just like that our baby boy was dying.  We were in tears, needed time with him, needed to get his sister to the hospital to say goodbye, and they accommodated our every need.  We were all able to be there when he passed.  I'm so truly grateful that they treated both us and our boy with dignity.  Thank you Atlantic Street. Excellent 5 Star Review - Thank God for the Doctors and the skilled team of Atlantic Street Veterinary Hospital Pet Emergency Center in Roseville. Our 4 pound Yorkie, Daisy, was literally dying in our arms when we ran in their doors at 3 AM unannounced. They immediately took us in and instantly began emergency services on her. She was dying from a protein problem involving leakage from her intestines into the body cavity. If it weren't for their being open & having the training and skills for this illness, we would have lost her that night. Three days later she came home and has been healthy ever since with a special diet. God Bless You All.My family and I highly recommend the Doctors and their wonderful staff. My toy poodle chihuahua was attacked resulting in a prolapsed eye. It was late and his vet was closed so we brought him here. They examined him said nothing could be done to save the eye that it needed to be removed. They gave us a work up in the range of around $3,700.00. The Dr. told us the surgery would be considerably less expensive at our regular vet and they could prescribe sedatives that would keep him asleep overnight. We went with the surgery to try to make him somewhat comfortable. The surgery at our regular vet (where he has his stitches removed) would have been around $700 but this Dr. was compassionate, honest, and helped us in our time of need. Read Less

Woke up this morning and my cat was unable to move her hind legs or tail. Didn't want to wait two hours for my regular vet to squeeze her in so decided to bring her here. I called ahead to let them know we were on our way and upon entering the hospital, someone was waiting to bring her back for her exam. We waited for maybe 15 min or so, then were brought back to talk to the vet. (Dr. Hench) Dr Hench was very kind and explained to us what she felt was going on based on our cats exam, and why she came to the diagnosis. Ultimately, we were given the option of seeing a cardiologist and running lots of expensive tests to figure out how to try and prolong the inevitable, or euthanasia. I am sure it is always difficult for a. Eat to give those options, but she was very kind and gave us her honest opinion about our cats's prognosis being very poor. While it wasn't the answer we wanted, we did appreciate her not trying to push unnecessary testing that would just prolong our kitties pain. We had to make the difficult decision to put her down, and the staff were very caring and did not rush the process one bit. We were able to take all the time we needed to say our goodbyes, and I felt that in the end, our kitty received the care that was right for her. It's too bad they are an emergency only clinic, because I would love to have Dr. Hench as our regular vet. She had amazing bedside manner. The office was clean and welcoming, didn't smell like death like some offices do. Today was an awful day, but I am grateful for the gentle and kind services we received here. We also felt that the cost was reasonable for an emergency pet hospital. All said and done we walked out paying less than $350 for services rendered. Well worth it considering the level of care and concern we received. Read Less

I have brought three pets into this hospital. Once was for a chicken that couldn't breathe well and they were able to put her out of her misery and it was fairly priced. So grateful for someone willing to euthanize a chicken! Most recently brought a newly rescued cat in for serious breathing difficulties which turned out to be a torn trachea. The vet explained treatment options and didn't make me feel bad when I said I couldn't afford the surgical option nor when I chose Do Not Resuscitate. Luckily, the conservative treatment of resting in an oxygen tent worked! They kept me up to date and toward the end when I hadn't even reached my initial estimate amount, they suggested she could go home. I appreciated that when they could've easily been paid for one more night of treatment. It's a stressful atmosphere so yes, sometimes you have to wait and the dr isn't always available to chat with you but the priority has to be emergencies. When we picked my cat up tonight, there were a couple dogs that had been hit by cars so of course there was a wait. But I'm sure when my cat was struggling to breathe, other people had to wait while my cat was the priority. An emergency vet is expensive but at the very least there is somewhere that can humanely relieve an animals suffering when the regular vet is closed. Read Less

Five stars for delivering no-nonsense, compassionate and professional service at 1 a.m. on a Saturday night. Without going into too much personal details, I had to bring in a pet for what seemed like a possible emergency (not overt like a open wound but concerning nonetheless). Given the hour, I was quickly seen and my pet was handled with care. The staff acknowledged the late hour but never engaged in any distracting or self-depreciating banter. Their concern was my pet, not the fact we were all tired. The vet (I didn't catch her name but she's an exotic pets vet) was great. She delivered her assessment in a professional, to the point manner but not in a detached, impersonal manner. She suggested x-rays but -- to her credit -- said they can wait until we go to our regular vet. I say that because they didn't use the hour or the situation to up-sell a service that wasn't absolutely needed. She said they could do an x-ray but it can wait, so I decided to wait given the stress already on my pet and working with a less-evasive course of treatment first. The facilities seemed clean and the whole office seemed well-staffed. It wasn't just a pet technician on call, requiring I wait around for someone to get out of bed and show up. They seem to be a true emergency facility that is ready to deal with almost any emergency crisis at any given hour. It's one of those things you don't want to go to, ever, but my pet and I were very fortunate to have their facility and staff available when we needed them. Thank you, Atlantic Street Vets. Read Less

I don't typically write reviews, but today I said goodbye to my best friend and felt the need to share my experience. Even though I'm more sad than I have been in quite some time, I know that the care and compassion he was shown in the last 24 hours of his life was amazing. To all of the staff at Atlantic Street Veterinary Hospital Pet Emergency Center, thank you. Henry was seen by his primary vet earlier in the week for what appeared to be a minor rash and nose irritation. Two days later he collapsed and our vet did the right thing when they realized his situation had deteriorated and he was in need of critical care. As a pet owner we are often faced with tough decisions when it comes to the care of our pets, specifically monetary decisions. As I watched my old but still active dog deteriorate I pushed my concerns aside and truly listened to what the vet was telling me. She was thorough and educated, and provided me with every detail I needed to make an informed decision about the care Henry needed. Henry stayed overnight to be stabilized so further testing could be completed. I never felt pressured about his treatment plan and the pricing was not to far away from what I pay for testing through our primarily vet. I don't have any baseline for overnight care, but it didn't seem excessive for the care he was receiving. The next morning I was called by the on-call doctor and she too was amazing. I can honestly say that everyone I came into contact with at this facility left me with a feeling of security and a level of compassion that I have not seen at any other medical office - human or pet. My sweet boy is gone, but I know in my heart that his life, including his final day was filled with love,  care, and dignity - I hope that I can say the same when my time comes. Read Less

This place is a joke! I took my four month old puppy, Emma, here five days after she receiving a Parvo vaccine. After waiting five hours, we spoke to the vet for 4 mins and then dealt with the vet tech for the rest of the time. After the very very very long wait, the vet tech stated Emma had a "faint positive" for Parvo. After the diagnosis, we were devastated and deeply saddened. The vet tech recommended that our puppy stay at the center for 3 days which would cost $4,696.67. Isn't that ridiculous? When we informed the vet tech that amount was too expensive for my teacher salary, they recommend medicine costing approximately $738.84. My family and I prepared for the worst. We purchased what we could afford, and spent $459. To our surprise, the next day Emma was running around, jumping, and playing. I immediately did a little research because Emma was not behaving like a puppy that was on the verge of death, which is what we were told. We were told by the vet tech that she most likely wouldn't make it through the night. I decided to do a little research of my own on what exactly a "faint positive" even meant. I learned that sometimes after a Parvo vaccination, dogs can have a reaction and exhibit signs of Parvo, thus giving a "faint positive" on a Parvo test. After learning this, and day three after her diagnosis by the vet tech, I took Emma to the center to show them that she is well and alive. I explained to them that Emma did not have Parvo and now have a bag of medicine that Emma does not need. I asked for a partial refund for the misdiagnosis. I was contacted by the manager and she refused even a partial refund. She stated the IDEX Parvo test that the vet tech used is 100% accurate. Not even pregnancy test are 100% accurate. Do not take your pet to this place. This center plays on your emotions and the love you have for your pet to get you to spend an obscene amounts of money. It seems, by reading the other reviews, that I am not the only customer who they have scammed. I informed them to read the reviews on this website. I am writing this, so this doesn't happen to you.

Stay away! Read Less

Dr. Amy Furtado and the assistants took wonderful care of both Luna and I, giving me options to consider and to choose from. The good news is Luna is doing much better with the recommendations the Doctor made and the services they provided were excellent. I would highly recommend them for emergency pet care and thank all the staff who took such great care of us both. Read Less

I brought my dog in when she ate bunch of fudge brownies. I rushed her to the clinic, panicking and not listening very well. Not only did they get her in and out in under half and hour, but everyone at the clinic was understanding, patient and knowledgeable. I would like to personally thank Dr. Lisa LaChioma, Amanda, Rhonda, Jamie, Ryan and Edgar who helped fix my possibly huge mistake. I encourage anyone who are unfortunate enough to need their care to come to the Pet Emergency Center.(And when I expressed my thanks, they said I could always bring in used towels and blanlets or donate to The Chester Foundation, for anyone else who was as impressed as I was and wants to help out). PS: Their follow-up with us since this happened has been top notch. We could not ask for better care for both our pet and for our family during that trauma. Read Less

Be warned about this place.Read Less
