I've know Dr. Sandra McRoberts personally and have worked with professionally. She is amazing! take all of my pets to see her (I have three). She is able to take in all the factors when helping you decide what is best for your pet. She will work with you to help create a plan for treatment if necessary and she always has good advice on the day to day treatment and care of your animal whether it be a dog, cat or rabbit. I really hope the staff at Petcare read this. I am so disappointed with the lack of professionalism this clinic displays. And, it's something that can easily be corrected if they just take the time, and spend some money to do so. I have been a customer for several months after moving here from Campbell and having an excellent relationship with my prior veterinarian, and his staff. This clinic does not answer their phones. They either send calls to voice mail, or put a patient on hold. Twice, I've gotten so tired of holding to try and get my sick dog in to see the vet, I ended up taking her to the pet emergency hospital because they answer their phone, and tend to their patients, and this was at 9 am in the morning on a weekday. I could not get through. I'm sorry too say even though I love our groomer, Jeanine, I'm going to have to move my dogs to another groomer because the staff don't answer the phones, can't even check to see if my dogs are ready to be picked up. My vet moved to another hospital, so I moved too, but I was still going to stay with Jeanine. Now, unfortunately, I'm going to have to move on. Please Petcare, get this simple issue fixed. They tested my new puppy for coccidia & giardia on 7/7/17. I was told to give him Metronidazole as a precaution. Today we went in for his Parvo booster, after, he had a rash on his stomach. I asked what caused this. It was not there when I took him in. They took him back to the Vet and she said it was from stress. We were getting ready to leave and I asked about his test results. Nobody could give me an answer, after being at the office for over an hour and going no where I told them to call me when they new what was going on. 15 minutes later, I get a call from a very rude Vet Tech. She informs me that my puppy is positive for Giardia & coccidia and I need to come back because he needs two more medications. I told her that we had just finished his 10 days of Metronidazole and shouldn't we re-test him. She tells me, No, we can't do that he needs these meds. I ask her why was I giving him that other medication? I asked her to explain, she was very rude. I asked when they got the results back and she told me 7/10. So, I inquired why am I just now get the results. She informs me that, "THEY HAVE TOO MANY CLIENTS AND CAN NOT CALL EVERYONE WITH TEST RESULTS!" At that statement I was done! If you have too many clients, you should not accept new ones, and you should not have a pre-pay puppy package which is what we purchased. I was also told that the Vet I was referred to was the owner, she is only in on Saturday's and she does not have time to speak with clients. I spoke with the other Vet, told her how upset I was, demanded a refund for the puppy package because I will not be going back to that office ever again. She told me that I should have received my results last week, that it was unacceptable and that she is unable to help with refunds. The receptionist is the only one that can help with refunds, and guess what, she isn't in today! So, I am writing this to steer any new clients away, because from the mouth of an employee, "THEY HAVE TOO MANY CLIENTS". Read Less

We have continued to choose Pet Care for our veterinary needs for over 7 years. We have had various types of appointments with our dogs, ranging from first visits, puppy check ups, multiple surgeries, and all those in between. My puppy had an awful experience at this veterinary clinic.  After reading other reviews here regarding their lack of professionalism and uncaring attitude, I can understand why they gave this clinic a very low review.Long story short...I took my puppy in for his regular check-up and had requested to have his nails trimmed as well.  One of the technicians who performed the trimming obviously either did not know the proper way to trim dogs' nails or simply didn't care enough to make sure she didn't cut the quick.  Well, guess what?  She did and my puppy started bleeding.  I was horrified when I saw what happened.  Instead of apologizing, she said it was because of my puppy's behavior!  Well, you know full well that dogs do not like their nails trimmed and that they can move or squirm a lot when going through this process.  So, you NEED to be EXTREMELY careful and KNOW HOW to trim the nails at the right angle.  Don't blame it on my puppy's behavior when you know full well (or do you even know?!!!) how dogs react to nail trimmings.  No apology whatsoever and then you stormed out of the room to get the doctor, whom I didn't care very much for either.  I have seen Dr. Sandra McRoberts in the past and had no problems at all until now with this other doctor, whom to me didn't seem very experienced at all.  Of course, this so-called doctor didn't even apologize too.  She said it wasn't the technician's fault or my puppy's fault.  Well, if the technician was more careful and KNEW how to trim a dog's nails, this wouldn't happen.  So unprofessional of you to put the blame on my puppy's behavior and no apology!  Shame on you both for being so unprofessional, uncaring and uncompassionate!!!Dog lovers, if you ever want to take your babies here, ask for Dr. McRoberts and Ashley S., another technician who was in the room with us.  Ashley is caring and I give Ashley a 5-star for her professionalism and caring attitude. Best Vet in Dr. Sandy McRoberts! Everytime I have taken my dog to see Dr. Sandy it has always been a pleasant experience, from the front desk staff to the Vet Techs. My dog Ema, had a horrible scratching problem recently. I treated her with Flea & Tick prevention, bathed her in anti-itch shampoo and changed her dog food. When I took her to see Dr. Sandy she told me about this new medication that helps with the scratching. Took Ema home and gave her her first dose and the scratching stopped almost immediately. She gets it twice a day and it has been a life saver, cause Ema's scratching was driving me nuts! I had another emergency with Ema about a year ago where she had strained her neck and every step she took caused her a great deal of pain and if it wasn't for Dr. Sandy, I don't know that I'd still have my wonderful Ema today. If you don't have a dog/cat vet yet....Petcare Veterinary Clinic is the absolute best place to go. Read Less

Staff and Doctor are wonderful. Good communication and call back by the doctor. The only issue for me is getting into the appointment on time. I have never been in the appt. for the time I have made it, they always run late. However, that said, when I am in the appointment, the doctor gives me as much time as I need to get all my questions answered... so from that, I can conclude.. the person after me is now behind. A two-edged sword... I appreciate the service and commitment, so I don't mind having to wait, at least not so much. Read Less

I have a new puppy that I've had to take here a few times in the last two months for his shots and check ups. I was referred here by a friend who takes her pup here. I purchased the puppy package that includes all his shots, two exams, micro chipping and it was well worth it! The staff is always super friendly and they all love my little Jack. I do have to wait every time I go with an appointment so plan for that. I really like how they label everything they send me home with the best instructions. I swear I listen to their instructions but by the time I get home I always have to re-read the instructions. They pay attention to the details which makes it really easy for me. Oh and I love the text appointment confirmations and reminders. I'm not one for answering my cell so being able to text back without my voicemail box jammed up is appreciated! Read Less

The facility is very nice and clean - and it's always just a great pleasant experience. Nothing bad to say - only good things - pricing has been very fair and reasonable as well. If you are looking for compassion and genunie care for your pet, I recommend this clinic. If you are looking for a beautiful waiting room with granite counter tops this is not the place. Dr. McRoberts and staff provide ""old fashion service! They are courteous, sympathetic and willing to help in anyway. They try to keep your cost to a minumum by not adding all the ""fluff"" that you might find in other clinics. You might have to wait longer than you want in the waiting room for your appoitment, but when you see the doctor, you feel as though you are the only patient she has seen all day. Read Less

I can't express how wonderful my visit to Petcare was! I was referred by a friend that has taken her dogs there for a long time and had nothing but good things to say. The receptionists are very friendly and always smiling even though it was pretty busy. The nurses are very caring, you can tell they love animals. The Dr. was very knowledgeable and took the time I needed explaining things to me without speaking down to me. My cat can be a bit of a handful and has bitten/scratched other people in the past but they treated her so kindly and gently even though she was being her typical cranky self. The cherry on top was was my savings! I was very pleased to find out how affordable it was to treat my kitty in comparison to my old vet. Several of my friends told me about PetCare when I was looking for a new vet since my vet moved to Davis and I just couldn't drive that far. I figured if 3 of my friends went there I'd give it a try too. I am SO happy that I was able to meet the Dr. and staff they are fantastic. I could tell right away that they love animals. They gave my dog lots of cookies and loved on her like she was their own. The Dr was very thorough and compassionate, she even gave me free samples of toothpaste and mouthwash! I went in to have a simple cleaning done for my dog. He had just lost a tooth and I was a little freaked out. He had never had a cleaning done so it was time to go. I saw Dr. Baldner and a nurse that I believe was named allison or alice. They were very kind at the first meeting. I was given ADVICE as to what needed to be done. She suggested an extraction on two front teeth that were crowding the canines. I took in that information but was against removing any more teeth since he had just lost one. I was assured that if it came to having those teeth extracted I would be contacted by phone to authorize the procedure. Both the doctor and nurse assured me of this. I took my dog into the vet this morning and dropped him off so they could prep him for the cleaning. 1. The receptionist could not find my appointment (which annoyed me since I had been up since seven). When she finally found it she blamed it on a new system. Hmm....ok. 2.When I was looking over the paperwork I asked if my dog was listed for any extractions. She said NO. I told her did not want any extractions done, and if it was totally necessary to call me. She said, ""oh yeah they don't do anything without calling you first"" (Ahh. okay so its protocol.) So tell me why I get a call from the dental technichian (michelle) that my dog was done.They extracted two teeth and that he was in recovery. I didn't pay for the extraction and I am taking legal action! DO NOT DO NOT take your beloved pet here! Read Less

I wouldn't recommend these people to my worst enemy.I have a Sphynx kitten. She is a $1500 cat. Every time I call these people they put me on hold. I waited one time for 23 minutes until I finally hung up and called back. This time when they answered they were really rude and they said they were with a client and asked me to hold again this time I was on hold for another 10 minutes, when they answered they told me they would have to take a message and call me back because the vet was with someone. They Never called me back. When I called them and finally got an appt. They first took her temp. Sphynx cats have a higher tempature that a normal cat due to the lack of hair. They told me they thought she had a tempature. I corrected them. Next they looked in her ears and swore she had to have the slide test for ear mites. these cats also due to the lack of hair in thier ears have dirtier ears that a normal cat. It of course came out Negative. They gave me a cream to put in my cats eyes called Terrmycin. They prescribed it for 14 days. After about 7 days she became really hard to put the ointment in her eyes. even when we wrapped her in a towel. I again tried to call these people. They again put me on hold. this time for 12 minutes. I was so angry I hung up and called a different vet. When I took her in this time I brought the ointment I was given. The New Vet told me That The only should have prescribed this ointment for 7 days. AFTER & DAYS IT STARTS TO BURN!!!!! I couldn't Believe it! We discontinued the use and her eyes cleared up right away! I would not take any animal to this vet to save an extra $10. They are lucky we didn't sue them. Read Less
