I updated my payment information via phone a couple months back, when I received a new visa card. I have automatic deposit(s) and rarely study that each of my bills are taken out accordingly each month, as I believe I should be contacted if there is an error in my payment methods. Today, I received a phone call that my payments hadn't come out for a couple months. This is VERY frustrating as I spent a good time on hold when I updated my payment information prior to this. The person who called me today said "It seems that the employee didn't save your information". She was helpful and updated it (again) right on the spot. I had multiple people in a car with me when I updated my information (this was like, late Feb), and to pay $200+ at once, as opposed to my regular payment monthly, because of their error is frustrating. That being said, I do enjoy having my pets here and they were very helpful when my dog was sick a few months back. I have two dogs with Banfield and both are at the most expensive plan. My husband and I split our dogs into separate plans, and my regular automatic deposit is $75. Overall 4/5. Read Less

Major Customer Service Fail. I had an appointment today at 12:30 and there were no other patients in the waiting room and all three exam rooms were vacant. But by 1 p.m., I was still sitting there in the waiting room, so I said something to the receptionist. She went back and said that it would just be a few more minutes, but by 1:15, nothing had changed. My dogs just became more and more anxious sitting there. So I left angry. Why wouldn't the technician at the front desk say something to me first rather than me having to point out the obvious? Why wouldn't they put me in an exam room to wait? Why wouldn't they call me later to apologize? I'm really disappointed. I guess Customer Service isn't part of the Wellness Plan. Read Less

I came to this hospital only because my regular veterinary care hospital was closed. (Sunday). I had boarded my two large dogs at Best Friends Kennel in Carmichael earlier this month and they came home with diarrhea from having acquired Giardia at the kennel. . Giardia is a very nasty parasite and can be deadly if not treated promptly. On Saturday evening I noticed my little Shih Tzu had come down with diarrhea. Of course she got the Giardia from my big dogs. I didn't want to wait until Monday to take her to my regular vet at Blue Cross Pet Hospital because I she is so small and she is nine years old.  The staff at Banfield was friendly but I couldn't convince them that she had Giardia. They insisted that I have her poop sent in to a lab. I guess rules are rules. They did give me an antibiotic to help the diarrhea. So I ended up having to take my little dog in to my regular vet on Monday. All in all my complaint is to Best Friends Kennel for not screening their dogs before boarding them. So far it has cost me $850.00. As for Banfield, I give them 4 stars for being nice and thorough. I take 1 star away for not listening to me. Read Less

First I had called a day in advance to ask about nail clipping and shaving for my cat. The receptionist, Tim, told me about the prices for nail trimming but when I asked about the fur trim he said just bring your cat in between 2-5 and you shouldn't have a problem getting him seen. I then asked does this require a doctor visit? Should I schedule something? Is there a fee associated with this type of request? All his answers were "No. You should be fine." So I took him in and then get a call 2 hours later that they need to sedate him to do the trim. But because he didn't take the initial sedation, they then told me he needed more sedation but still couldn't finish the trim even after that. So he is not completely shaved and I was charged full price for this service even though it was not complete. Then one of his claws was supposedly embedded so he needs antibiotics to prevent infection but I wasn't informed of that until I was there to pick him up. Also I needed by a certain time and they weren't done until hour later and proceeded to inform me of all of this other stuff I needed for him at that time and I ended up paying $250 that could've all been avoided if the receptionist, Tim, did his job in the first place and told me what I was in for. Also, he is now favoring one of his paws that was trimmed, but the the embedded one, and I'm doubting the quality of the that job too. I have been bringing my cat to Banfield's for almost 10 years now and I have never had this type of experience. I guess it's time to find a new vet and who is more qualified to do what is asked of them than this incompetent facility clearly is. Read Less

I have nothing but good experiences here and at the Banfield in San Jose, CA. In San Jose, when I was out of work, my cat had kidney failure (and at the time I could not afford their health insurance), the vet actually euthanized by cat for free and I received a beautiful certificate later with her name and where her ashes had been placed. I will never forget their kindness. Here in Sacramento they have been really good to my cat, Milo and the money I pay for the insurance has been well worth the price. The only thing that I wish they could manage a little better is time. I am always early but he is never seen until at least 10 minutes or more after his appointment. But that is my only criticism. Other than that, it's all good! Bringing in a new kitten soon! Read Less

Well, just wanted share my experience at your hospital in Petsmart. I took my poodle in to have a few sores on her back checked out. For the initial cost of $49.95 all I got was to have Freda temperature checked - Normal, Heart rate - normal, and was old about her teeth for her type of breed. Then I was given a quick sales pitch for the dog insurance for $40 a month. I saw the doctor all of 5 minutes. They charged $30 just to cut an inch of hair on Fred's back. A half a shot was $62. And a small spray bottle for top spray for itching $34. Absolute HIGHWAY ROBBERY. Are you fricking kidding me! I kept my composure. But I will never be back. Never. In the future, if I can't cure my dog then I will put her to sleep myself. Total cost was $178 and they had the nerve to act like the did something miraculous. What a RIPOFF.

Read Less
