They helped my cat twice when he was sick. The vet accurately diagnosed what was wrong, explained clearly, and gave options. They made time to do a needed surgery on my cat same day when he badly needed it. The receptionists and techs are efficient. Thank to this vet my cat is alive and healthy. I believe prices here are reasonable/comparable. A visit is $40 and they ask for it up front. Separate cat and dog waiting rooms are a great idea but the cat side at least is small and the floor and bench are gross. Exam rooms are clean. Read Less

I really enjoyed my experience there was able to walk in with multiple pets for just vaccines was greeted by receptionist and technicians. They were little busy but still worked quickly because one of my pets has bad anxiety. I appreciated that they notice it and cared about him being stressed out. Let me start by saying that my experience was back from about 2006.  I'd been a completely satisfied client of this clinic for about two years.  My dog had a condition that they were unable to completely diagnose, but they found that keeping my dog on a daily dose of antibiotics seemed to keep his problem with infection in his paws at bay.Unfortunately, I was involved in an accident and suffered a severe spinal injury and as a result lost my job.  What made things so bad was when I needed to re-fill the prescription for my dog's antibiotics, they said I needed to have him put through a "yearly exam" which I simply could not afford.  I had the money for his drugs - or the exam, but not both.  They refused to re-fill the prescription unless I could also buy the exam.  I never wanted to be in an accident and I felt really guilty that I couldn't get the money together fast enough to keep infection from killing my dog.I think what bothered me most was that they just didn't care that this would result in my dog dying in a rather unpleasant manner.  I pleaded with them to no avail, so all I can assume is that they never really cared about animals, only the money they can get people to spend.Thankfully, I was a member of an Internet forum that was devoted to my dog's breed.  I was tipped off that I could legally buy the antibiotic that my dog desperately needed to stay alive by ordering it online from an aquarium shop.  Apparently, you can buy medications for fish without a prescription from a veterinarian!  I was able to save my dog's life thanks to this information.With this near-death crisis behind me, I spent a great deal of time making contacts with online veterinary medication providers.  Eventually, I found a source that seemed to conclude that I was not lying about my dog's condition and they decided to sell the meds my dog needed without a current prescription.  Obviously I cannot identify the source where I obtained the medication, but I am mentioning this because I was able to find someone who genuinely cared enough about my dog and how much he means to me.  My point is never don't give up if you run into the same kind of problem that I did.  There are people out there who care more about the well being of your pet than the money they can get from you.I am typing this review with my little buddy (14 years old now) lying comfortably at my feet.  He's been with me through thick and thin and I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to still have him with me. I took my 2 year old dog because something was leaking from her nipples but turns out that it is not sever that it could end the problem with a surgery. The doctor said it can be a false pregnancy or something else which I can not remeber. An option was to give her surgery for her not to have babies and the problem would go away and a less chance to have cancer. We decided to give her medicine and we'll see what happens from their. This place is horrible!!! Very dirty in a ghetto location. I still have never met the veterinarian. The girls at the front desk were rude uncaring and disorganized. They over charged my credit card, never apologized. I said my Chihuahua bites but she really needed her nails clipped. So, they gave me a muzzle to put on her!!! Are you serious!!?? I brought her in so I wouldn't get bit!! These girls are idiots. Then they wrapped her in a towel and she got so scared she pooped. I had to clean it up!! To top it off, her nails were worse before she went in!!!  Jagged and spilt, have clipped and pointy!!! I wanted her to be ready for Christmas since I was hosting this year. They do a great job with grooming, take great care of the pets & follow instructions on how you would like your pet to look. Great customer service & the owners are so sweet and very nice people. Honest people & always providing great feedback on my Julez! Every time I walk in I feel confident knowing that my Julez will be well taken care of and will look fabulous when I pick her up. Dr khabra prescribed  extremely high dosage  of thiroid medication to mini pincher. He was  EXTREMELY  rude  unprofessional.  All he care  was making money by requesting  blood work every three weeks. Ended  up taking my mini to diffrent  vet.  Was told thiroid  levels  extreme  high and now  my pet had a thiroid  cancerous  tumor. My mini died a day after. This veterinary office was very affordable and the staff was pleasant and professional. I appreciated the doctor's genuineness and his explanation of our options. He definitely did not try to sell us any unnecessary procedures/products and in fact he was great about providing his honest opinion and giving us multiple options for addressing the issue. We are residents of Roseville for over 20 years. Our cat is now 14 years old and she has only been seen by West Roseville Animal Hospital her entire life as well as two of our dogs. We love WRAH, no complaints! Last year, we inherited my husbands parent's labor-doodle and sadly under tragic circumstances. We are giving her a lot of love on a daily basis. Not only did she lose her human parents, she also lost her fur brother and the only home she had knew her seven years of life. We were told by the vet in Oregon who had seen her all her life that Sasha has been dealing with dental issue which resulted in terrible bad breath but most recently "pain". Our vet, West Roseville Animal Hospital gave us an estimate of $1,100 - $1,400 to pull the teeth needed and clean the remaining. Since we inherited this doll baby overnight along with a lot of other expenses we were not able to fork out over a grand at the time. Several months has passed and she appeared to be in pain, which is not an option. We paid $80 to be seen and get another estimate for teeth removal which was not $1,500 - $1,700. OMG! We still did not have the money but was determined to make it work somehow. While at a friends house that night for dinner the topic came up. They told us to check out Del Paso Vet Clinic. They are in law enforcement work and live in Roseville but take their dogs to Del Paso Veterinary Clinic. We called their office on Monday and was seen that week. Paid $40 for the visit. Our son's took Sasha in for that appt and both said the staff and doctor was very compassionate, professional and answered all the questions that they had. The doctor showed the boys her teeth; which ones had to pulled and which ones he would like to save for her sake but made no promises. Further he explained that without a doubt she was in pain and showed them the teeth causing her the pain. Our oldest asked how much this procedure would cost. The doctor said $600 but could be $700. Our son asked if that included antibiotics and pain medication too? YEP it did he told them. There was an extra charge for lab work which was not required but recommended. Well, YES for sure we will do that too. This veterinarian clinic might be posh as others but clearly these folks are in the busy for the RIGHT REASON, lets take care of these pets! We have thanked our friends and we have told everyone we know at work to neighbors to friends PLEASE check this veterinarians clinic out. With the reasonable charges they offer, the less pets will suffer! Sasha had her surgery the following week. She had eleven teeth pulled and it is now on week two without any complications. She is off pain meds and wrapping up her antibiotics. Because the rates here are reasonable, we are going to have all four of our animals medical charts transferred to Del Paso Vet Clinic and anyone that will listen to us.....will be doing the same! I will never regret not trusting my instincts with this place. Pets are my family, and I love them more than anything. I have habit of letting people silence me or tell me I worry too much and that stops today.When I moved to Arden-Arcade I thought, this vet has okay reviews and separates cats and dogs why not? My cat Willow had started licking her lips A LOT and her personality had COMPLETELY changed. I had done my research and all of this had pointed to potentially serious problems. I made an appointment (to be fair I have two other cats and have not had as completely traumatizing experiences as I will explain below but they were always really logistically annoying that is why I can't remember the exact wait time) and they would see me 20-60 minutes after my scheduled time. No one would be rude but no one would ever apologize for being late. It was actually amusing, how apathetic the staff could be. Especially if you scheduled an appointment on the day they were opened late... it took forever.Now to the doctor, he was polite, maybe even charismatic. Except when I explained what was happening to my cat Willow he got the look in his eye, the "Oh God not another Googling expert". He then said that her gums looked a little red and she was probably fine but we could give her a steroid injection. My instincts did not trust him at all but I thought, I'm not the expert so I'll go with it.A couple weeks go by and she's doing the same. I google signs that a cat is in pain, my cat Willow is meeting many of these signs. I don't know why I still go back there. Probably his confidence. To this day I will regret it. After making an appointment and repeating my 30-60 minute wait he tells me that I am over worrying and more meds can do her harm... And for that cherry on the top, I paid an exam fee as well.Flash forward to me having life get in the way, other cat issues, being repeatedly told my cat is okay. Now probably 8 months or more Willow has mats on her fur. I thankfully moved close to my old vet (that I had been driving to for new cat issues because this vet is so annoying) and I took her in to be shaved. I asked her as an afterthought to be checked be my favorite vet because I had a nagging suspicion that her mouth issues were ongoing.  Today they called me stating that Willow may have an abscess on her tooth, her mouth is infected and we're hoping the infection did not go into her blood stream. There is probably more but I am so stressed that I cannot remember.I am writing this review so people know that this veterinarian clinic does not have empathy for their clients or patients. My cat Willow has been needless suffering, and I wish I had trusted my instincts sooner. Honest Vet, very reasonable.  I had a pup that hurt his paw and wanted to be sure it wasn't serious.  Called a couple vets where I live in West Sac about 45 min before they closed and neither would help.  They couldn't care less and only suggested I go to an emergency?  Seriously!?!?  Well I called Del Paso Vet and they had me come right in.  Saw the Dr and after a very thorough exam, he recommended nothing.  He said our pup was fine and probably just sore but would be okay.  Any other bet would have put the pup through X-rays, tests and charged several hundred.  These guys only charged a $40 office fee and he was right, few hours later, our pup was just fine.  I am a regular here now and just so happens I needed all their puppy shots, etc.  the staff is friendly, helpful, and it's the easiest place to take for checkups.  So glad the folks in West Sac declined or I would still be overcharged for unnecessary treatment. This review is long overdue. Dr. Khabra is the best. I live on acreage and we have many animals. He not only treats our house pets with care and compassion, he also patches up our feral cats when they get in fights and the prognosis is not good. He's performed surgery on my dogs from foxtail removal, deadly spider bite, and unknown blood infection. His staff is also the best, caring,  kind, and compassionate. Called to see if I could get an appointment today for my dog who got in a fight. She only has a minor cut that we want to make sure doesn't get infected. lady on the phone was rude, kept interrupting me, and refused to see me at 4 (said I had to come in by 3 or tomorrow). They close at 5:30 today so it wasn't that my appointment was too close to closing time. This "Vet" should not be treating cats. Anyone or any cat would be feisty if they had ear mites. The vet tech offered her assistance in rinsing my cats ears after the doctor told me sedation is the only answer. I was delighted by the techs offer but the vet was visibly pissed. My cats exam consisted of the vet scoping my cats ears and then looking down at her the rest of the visit. Normal i can put a paragraph together a little Better but I'm highly irritated. I took my best fr iend in the world there after talking on the phone it was determined that I probably need to put my dog down because he was 12 years old and had not eaten in 3 days. I took Snoopy down there in tears and all they cared about was getting their $180 dollars before the doctor would even see him. I was hoping he would say something to talk me into trying to save him first? He didn't even bend down and touch him! I swear! He just says, sometimes it's time to say goodbye ? W. T. F. That dog I loved more than my step dad who just died. I was hoping for a kind word but just because I had to scrape up the money on 2 cards which broke me, he knew no more money for him! I would have paid anything to keep my dog! Snoopy was walking fine, jumping in the bed and car fine, etc. I now live the guilt the rest of my life. We made an appointment for the next morning, and they gave him a couple of shots - a general antibiotic and an anti-fever drug - at a very reasonable price. Best prices I have found in the Sacramento area, I especially appreciate the fact that they are not part of the VCA chain, which seem to focus primarily on profit. The Dr. is knowledgeable, efficient and cordial. The clinic is clean, and though the waiting room is on the smaller side I would guess a newer building would raise the prices! They also have an adjacent building for grooming. My dogs don't require grooming but I would imagine that the prices are reasonable there as well. I would expect that some customers could find the two services in one lot convenient, one stop shopping if you required veterinary services and grooming services. This is the veterinary office I recommend to anyone in the Sacramento area. I recently moved to El Dorado County and still make the trip to this clinic often. Read Less

Our son's Rag-Doll "Cup Cake" cat got unexpectedly ill with paralysis in her back legs. I rushed her to Del Paso Veterinary Clinic on Saturday 8/15/2015 since they opened at 8:00 a.m. and since they seen her and our pets before prior to moving to Davis. When I got her in the office, the staff did not greet us with a hello, would not wait on me while we were having a family emergency of life and death. I had to ask them to hurry to look at my son's cat right away! "Can you please help me, our cat is paralyzed" They made me fill out paperwork again and charge my card for the visit while our poor Cupcake was meowing and stressed for 15 additional needless minutes. By the time we made it to the examination room and waited 10 arduous minutes more; the vet was completely unprofessional, did not say hello and appeared to be not proficient in his field. He asked me if she breathed hard like this all the time? I stated no and that she was completely healthy up until this morning when I found her in her current state, but she was obviously stressed for being at the vet office and not having the use of her back legs. I was also stressed because he could not give me answers that I needed such as taking an X-ray. He stated that they're only open four hours on Saturday and don't have the means to help her (Don't know what that means??) They could not help me and refunded my $40.00 and I had to return to Davis and expend another 25 minutes driving back. By the time I got into South Davis Veterinary and pulled her out of her cat carrier, she passed in my arms. Sad to think that maybe, possibly something could of been done to alleviate her pain in a timely manner and possibly extend her life! Don't make this mistake that I made going to Del Paso Veterinary Clinic. I will be posting our story on other websites and making an official complaint with the California Veterinary Medical Board. The vet here is arrogant and ignorant. We brought our Scooby here for an infected paw. The vet touched his paw said it was cold and could need amputation if it wasn't treated immediately. We would need to go to UC Davis for emergency treatment because he didn't have time to treat him. We arrived at 830 am and they closed at 12noon. He didn't even examine the sore between his toes . I asked him for my money back since he did no exam, gave no diagnosis and formulated no treatment plan. He told me that he would give me my money back but people don't talk to him like that in his clinic. It doesn't work like that . Since his nurse took his temp and weight we should still have to pay. We ended up taking Scooby to El Camino Pet Hospital and Scooby was given excellent care and treatment. Stay away from this clinic. You can read about my El Camino Pet Hospital on yelp also. My dog recently had an accident playing with our other dog - she cut her self pretty badly while rough-housing!The Doctor took her on very short notice, provided a very thorough examination and with two hours my dog was in surgery and the wound was cleaned, stitched and repaired. I took my cat to the vet clinic this Monday at 3:30 pm. Her entire left jaw was swollen. She's been in my family since 2001, so obviously I was concerned for her well-being. She had trouble eating. I took her to see Dr. Khabra. He explained it was an abscess and he needed to perform surgery to remove it. Khabra would have preferred that we come in early at 11:30 am (clinic closes at 5:30 pm on Mondays) but he went ahead and performed the surgery late in the afternoon. They put the cat under anesthesia and performed the surgery to remove the abscess. I was surprised by the short amount of time D. Khabra was able to successfully perform the surgery in: He was done in a little less than an hour. I was able to take my cat back home on the same day. I'm satisfied with Khabra's professionalism and the nurse who was able to explain the costs of the surgery and anesthesia in easy-to-understand language. Read Less

My precious puppy became increasingly ill from congestive heart failure, and life-sustaining treatment options were limited. As the days passed Raymond could only lay in his bed, and his breathing was labored. For selfish reasons I could have held on to him longer, but knew he was having a hard time with each breath he took. I made the painful decision to let him go, and my heart was heavy with sorrow. The staff at this vet was very supportive and compassionate, and I could not have asked for any greater amount of kindness during this difficult time. I hope no one has to let go of their pet, but if you do, I know this office will give you the support and understanding to make the experience less traumatic. These people are so unprofessional it's really sad! We brought our new Chihuahua puppy here for her puppy vaccines and they didn't even have money to give me my $12 change. They wanted to credit my account instead of getting change. Also the receptionist or vet tech or whatever she was was very unsanitary and unclean. She handled money touched things all without gloves then reached out to vaccinate our puppy. I asked her to use sanitizer before hand and she refused!! Wow! She said its not really a big deal! Never the less this place was bad. I left without vaccines and would never recommend this place to anyone!!!! Also the vet who overheard me asking for the sanitizer also told me its not a big deal. I took my 4 year old Chihuahua to Del Paso Pet Hospital because He need to get teeth cleaned. They were able to see me the same day and to my surprise were able to do dental cleaning the same day. The exam fee was a reasonable $38.50.Best of all prices for getting a dental cleaning was only $232, which includes anesthesia.I am very happy with this vet, the staff and most importantly, their prices.Del Paso Veterinary Clinic is affordable and best pet hospital of sacramento. I was very impressed at how friendly the Vet and staff were. I was surprised at how soon they were able to see my Dog- Same day- when other places had at least a week long wait. On top of that very reasonable prices. My little dog had the ear infection and my regular vet give me the estimate of $400 but at Del Paso Pet Hospital it cost me only $150 and that include the exam, ear flushing and all medicines. Do not take your pets to this vet for any serious medical conditions. Both Dr. Ball and Dr. Kahbra misdiagnosed my dog's cancer, even though they had the biopsy results showing ""probable aggressive adenocarcinoma"". They did surgery to remove the tumors and told me they were benign and not to worry and didn't recommend any further treatment. I trusted them and was happy (of course) that the tumors were benign. Less than 2 months later, the tumors grew back larger than before. I took her back and was then told I needed to see an oncologist as the tumors were probably malignant. It was at this time that I was shown the biopsy results which clearly stated ""probable aggressive adenocarcinoma"". Dr. Kahbra would only say that he thought that was ""inconclusive"". I had the biopsy results reviewed by 2 specialists and they both couldn't believe how badly my dog was misdiagnosed!!! Sadly, by that time my dog was so sick that I no longer had the option to have the tumors removed again or to try any other treatments and I lost my dog. Read Less

I am not sure when specifically it happened, but some time within the past year Del Paso Vet Clinic changed owners. The new doctor, Dr. Kahbra, is wonderful. He seems to care very much about the animals. The spay/neuters he has done for my animals have been wonderful and I've never had even one issue after surgery. He is the type that shakes your hand every time he sees you. I am very happy with the change in ownership. Oh yes, they are also open till 8pm on Wednesdays which is great for me to be able to make appointments that do not conflict with my work schedule. Read Less

I took my 2 rabbits to Del Paso to be spayed & neutered because I called around and it was the cheapest. Unfortunately, they didn't have the best service. My rabbits' nails were not trimmed well, my girl's spaying incision should have been glued because it's better than stitches, they didn't care about her chewing on stitches or being uncomfortable in her very tight head cone, and my rabbits were not handled very gently or attentively, which my other vet is great at doing. I suggest spending the few extra dollars on better care for your pet(s). Read Less

I had used this clinic for a few years, and overall I was happy, until recently. I have an older dog that was tested for heartworm by Dr. Bell, and though she ""Kia"" has no symptoms was told she had it. I did the antibiotic treatment indicated, and the heartguard regimen from then on. I was told that the full treatment to eradicate the heart worms would likely end her, and since she was old that I should just look for any progressive symptoms. Since then each time I have attempted to refill the heartguard I was told that they needed to do more bloodtests, which of course is more money for them. This makes no sense at all, for (1) she is too old for a treatment that could end her, (2) she has no symptoms, (3) heartguard is preventive, and accordingly would not do her any arm if she did, or did not have the worms anymore. The fact that this clinic refuses to provide the heartguard without more money for tests is a clear indicator that this vet, like so many others, is all about the money, not treating animals appropriate for a fair value. They offer affordable treatment and walk clients step-by-step through a variety of care options. That said, you may need to bring along some patience for special events like late night shot clinics when staff may be overwhelmed by the volume of clients and unexpected emergency cases that may stumble in. Locally owned, small practices are increasingly rare in the veterinary field, offering more personal care and community perspective. This clinic gives back by supporting local arts, treating animals for the (sizable) homeless population, and working with a local rescue group, Happy Tails. I highly recommend this clinic! Read Less
