Didn’t even take my dog here just because of the experience I had on the phone. Was given attitude the moment the phone was answered. I remained calm due to the fact that I want my dog seen and treated accordingly. They weren’t trying to give me any quotes besides the initial exam...we need to know these kinds of things because sometimes the money isn’t there no matter what we do. In those cases we would need time to take out a loan or apply for a credit card. Anyways, I was told to have my dog seen ASAP due to having a foxtail up his nose. After asking for some quotes I was put on hold waiting for the info on the quotes. They proceeded to tell me they have no openings anytime soon after putting me on hold and wasting 20 minutes of my time. Putting me on hold for pricing EVEN THOUGH they apparently didn’t have any openings anytime soon. I should’ve been informed this in the beginning and suggested another vet. I find this alittle funky considering my mom made an appt for her dog at the same vet hours in advance...very upset but thankful VCA Vet Hopsital was able to get my pup in asap and had no issues giving me quotes. Please choose your vet wisely to ensure your dog has a good experience. I truly hope the doctors are more willing to help and today was just a bad day for the facility. Read Less

The Saturday shot clinic is cheap. I took my puppy for a well baby check and the vet spent less than a minute with her. Waist of twenty five bucks. Didn't do a thing or check her out at all. I was very disappointed. Read Less

Was recommended to this vet by a friend because of the great prices for vaccines for my dog.  The wait was a little long, the seating didnt accommodate the amount of people in the there with their pets on a Saturday so lots had to stand, and I wasnt in love with the staff calling your pets name and then heading to the exam room with your animal without you.  I have an appointment today for my dogs infected eye so will see how this goes.  For those of you complaining about inflated prices with this vet and although I havent experienced it....... most vets over charge for anything and everything.  Just the name of their game.  I havent been to one who doesnt take you to the bank at some point or another.  Unfortunately they make their money off of you desperately wanting your baby to feel better or stay alive and they know you'll pay anything to do so. This place is awesome, I cannot express how thankful I am of the people here. Earlier today our dog wasn't going to the bathroom and had blood on his little area, we thought he may have kidney failure. Long story short we went to 3 other places that wouldn't help us, then finally found this gem and they took him back right away, even though they were very busy they made him a priority. Highly RecommendBrought our little kitten Khaleesi back for her bacterial infection check-up. I just want people to know I was devistated and emotional over the thought of possibly lossing another fur baby because she was in horrific shape when we brought her in & didnt think she would survive. But from the moment we entered this place the beautiful people who work here truly perform miracles are just absolutely amazing. The unconditional love they ALL have for animals positively radiates from the entire staff. They truly are passionate about what the do, and provide exceptional care for animals. My daughter and I had the worst experience here! We were there to put our beloved 16 year old poodle to sleep. This place was not the place to go! The "new" vet was so inexperienced she kept having to look at the tech! Dr. Avtar Singh is one of the very few vets that truly care about animals, I won't take my pets anywhere else unless they needed emergency care because he is gentle, kind and truly loving toward the animals. He seems to try to comfort them while he is examining them. My daughter took in her cat while I was away and couldn't help. She couldn't afford all of the tests that needed to be done on her and Meds so Dr Singh took over half of her bill off, I have never seen that before and I have a lot of animals, been to a lot of vets. That is above and beyond, this is their business, their livelihood, they have rent to pay for employees who need paychecks but he still took money off her bill because he cared about the Cat. I wouldn't want him to do it again for us, that is not fair to him but it told me something about why he is a vet and who he is as a human being. Read Less

Very fair priced and kind, well mannered staff. I originally only went here because of their great Yelp review but, I'm glad we did, the great reviews match this great vet. I been bringing my dogs here for years. Always really good service. Brought in my 2 year old cocker spaniel mix trouble. I notice she been holding her leg every once in a while. X rays was done. Can see it's a gentic problem with her knees something that can be taken care of later. Looking at the x rays for her back legs the vet discovered she had a lot of stones in her bladder. So he took another picture of the bladder and you can see how many she had. We had them removed. On mon picked the dog up Tuesday everything looked very well done. She is her normal self minus the cone around her neck. Incision that was done looks very good. They explained everything from meds to how she will react first couple days. The doc himself even talked to us on picking up the dog. They really do care for the animals. Great customer service . Really make sure they check everything to keep your pets healthy. Read Less

Have a new puppy and a lot of questions and concerns, they were able to help with all of them. Walked me through it and were very patient. Most of the staff seemed to really care about their clients. And called them by name and seemed to know pet owner named as well. Prices seem to be in line with others in area. Feel comfortable bringing my puppy back again. Read Less

My cat got hurt about 2 years ago we took her to this location.  Doctor said she escaped a dog attack and he  took such wonderful care of her.  My cats like a teen ager always getting in trouble.  Today I took all my babies there 2 dogs and one cat, exam, toe nails and shots, Lillie Bell came home with ear mites, i sware it's the kids (cats) she's playing with, you know the alley cats  .  I watched how the staff toughted over all the babies big and small.  Nice job. We have 3 dogs, which two of them are Pitt Bulls. We moved to this area 2 years ago. We have had two vets before this one, which none we were impressed with. Only cared about the money first, and didn't have that personal relationship with our dogs. Till we came here. Let's face it,,,all vets are expensive. We can swallow this one. Why? They now our dogs by name when we walk through the door. Our dogs love them. That should of been the first. They have a clinic every Saturday for shots, heartworm testing, exam, etc. for 25.00.  And really, the prices are lower then any of the other vets we have gone to. Elkhorn-walerga animal hospital truly cares about their patients. Our dogs are our children and we only want the best for them. If we ever moved from this area, we would still bring our babies here. Ignore the negative reviews...if you notice most all of the reviews have four or five star ratings. I have been to many vets over the years, some good, some great, some not so great, some interested in just making money. This hospital/clinic ranks at the top of my list. Dr. Avtar Singh and his staff truly care about the animals they treat. I am offended by the idiots that make reference to language and culture as a detriment to receiving excellent care; if you believe that.. then it's your loss and shows ignorance that is borderline racism. Not only is the care top notch, its affordable. I highly recommend this animal hospital...I don't do these reviews very often...but in this case I felt very compelled to tell it like it is. Our adult cat and two kittens had tape worm issues. The vet prescribed Drontal costing 70 dollars (3.5 pills). When the second dose was due, we went to the vet and they said that we had to pay another 70 dollars for the second dose. All totaling to a 140 dollar bill with some change for 7 de-worming Drontal pills. Our cat and the kittens had a really hard time with the pills, especially the kittens. The tablets were extremely large and they kept spitting them out. Regardless the high price (another vet provides Drontal for 12.00 dollars per 3 pills, which we found out later), they failed to explain that there is another option.There is an injection option, which is about 24 dollars and it is administered only once. We could have cut our bill in half and pay only 70 dollars but most importantly, we could have avoided administering the pills twice to the little kittens. Somewhat mixed feelings about this place...  I just rounded up because we can't give half stars.Pros: Friendly service and competitive prices.Cons: Outdated lobby and lack of post-op care.It seems like a pretty busy place, but I don't know if I'd need to come back for other services.  Our dog was spayed and her helpless body plopped to the ground as soon as we stepped out of the lobby.  I'm pregnant and didn't expect to carry an extra 40 pounds to the car.  Then she had a long night of recovery as the anesthetics wore off.  We knew the risks and read the handout, so we monitored her for a couple of days of puking.  I was kind of hoping they would at least check if she was fine.  Oh well. The staff is very friendly n compassionate. The Dr. Is quick yet efficient n they r willing to work with u if u r on a budget , which is unique because usually vets try and get the money they can. I'm giving them 4 stars only because it's an older facility and it needs a bit of updating on the inside. I took my chihuahua here based off Yelp reviews. They read extremely well so I decided why not try them out. I knew my dog was nearing the end of this 13 year old life but just needed to get down to the main problems. Well there were a lot. However Dr. Singh was very thorough and compassionate through it all. We ended up deciding to put my little guy on steroids to help ease pain, unfortunately he only progressed faster. When the day came I had to put him down, Dr Singh and the entire staff were so genuine and kind. They staff helped arrange for cremation and all. Took our cat in 11/15 to be spaid and vaccines. The staff was very helpful and let us use a larger cage to take her home in, do to ours was a little small. A week later she ended up with a cold and eye infections, more than likely from a other animal coming in with it. The Dr gave us all meds for free and special pricing on the office visit and IV.
