My cat and I generally see Dr. True, who is fantastic. She can be reserved at first -- she doesn't suffer fools gladly, and gods know she must have a lot of idiots and spoiled rich types coming in and giving her grief. But she's a hell of a good veterinarian, and once she gets to know you and your pet, she's awesome. Every time I bring my cat in, she remembers her, greets her, pets and skritches her, like she's an old friend. She's sensible, sensitive to my cat's history and needs (my cat's an ex-feral,) and doesn't tack on unnecessary tests, &c. just to pad the bill.
That said, payment is due at the time of service. Don't expect to waltz in, get your pet seen to, and then blithely inform them you'll pay them sometime next week. Or next month. They're a business, and a dammed good one. They expect, quite reasonably, to get paid for their services. Once they know you well, and you have a history of paying on time, and in full, they may work with you on cost and payments, if necessary. But if you want to freeload or expect them to trust that you'll pay them some day...eventually, go somewhere else.
But there's no comparison. Midtown's definitely the best vet in Sacramento. Now that I'm moving out of state, they're one of the things I'll miss most about the city.Read Less
