I'm not sure what I think of this place. They were pretty good to my cat but the owner, Dr. Salaguinto, wasn't very nice to me. Totally out of the blue, she sent me an e-mail saying that I was no longer welcome there as a client. I had no idea what I had done to upset her so I called and asked to speak to her. She was rather vague but the nearest I could tell, she was mad because she felt I had changed around my appts. too many times. I don't know why she didn't just tell me that!! A warning would have been nice. She COULD have said, "I feel you are changing your appts. around too much so if it happens again, we can't see you here anymore." But nope, she just dropped me out of the blue like a hot plate. She made it sound like I had offended everyone in the office or had done something unforgivable which was preposterous. I did and said nothing wrong. I feel like my poor cat was just left stranded by her, and my cat has a lot of problems. She's a recue cat with lots of issues. Salaguinto would not take into consideration that I am physically disabled, don't have a car and must rely on my friend for rides to see the vet and he has a very strict work schedule too. I know that is not her problem and she has a business to run, I get it, but when one is dealing with all these factors, it can really be very difficult to get to the vet's office. She was also mad that I requested appts. after 4pm. They are open until 5pm so I don't see why that was such a big problem. I have a feeling she has done this to other people and her workers very much act like they are afraid of her. She's the owner and I think she runs the place with an iron fist, she is VERY inflexible/ unreasonable. Plus, my interaction with her over the phone was like a Twilight Zone episode. She insisted that I had a vet appt. elsewhere and that simply was 100% NOT true. I still have no idea what she was talking about and she acted like I was just playing stupid. I don't know, sigh, the lady has a huge EGO and is just plain NOT nice or very tolerant. That is certainly my opinion anyway. The other people there seem very nice though, I feel sorry for them. I tried to make an appointment here for a cat I adopted from my neighbor across the sidewalk. I spoke with the receptionist. I was not listened to and instead accused of stealing the cat from my neighbor. Dr. Salaguinto left me a condescending voicemail suggesting I go through “proper channels” to adopt a cat and said they couldn’t be involved if they got the sense someone was still looking for the animal then made the even more appalling suggestion that I call animal control... if I thought my neighbor was harming the cat. How would calling animal control improve my cat’s life or obtain prescription flea medication for him? If I thought someone was harming my cat I would call the police. Mixed in with all that, she said she would accept a written relinquishment of ownership from my neighbor. Of course Dr. Salaguinto would take my money for an exam but would need the “actual owners” approval for treatment. I am stunned that a veterinarian accused me of animal theft without actually speaking to me and would suggest I call animal control on the animal I adopted. My neighbor was also offended. I am really happy I did not put my cat through the stress of going to a veterinarian that is not competent enough to leave a helpful voicemail. I wish I could include the condescending voicemail with this post. I notice all the Facebook reviews of this clinic are glowing so this review will likely get deleted.
