I called for an appointment yesterday and was given a 8:30 AM appointment the next day. When I confirmed the appointment was told that I am not scheduled for that day. They are willing to accommodate me like it was a favor. I ended up going to another vet in Fair Oaks area with no problem. This is not the first time I had problems with this vet. When I brought Maya there before regarding the lump in he stomach, the vet said that it was cancer by just looking at it. It will cost at least 2700. I went to another vet clinic for another opinion. I was looking for a local Vet for my two pups and found SAH on Yelp. I have to say I love it! The facility it's nice and clean with a nice parking lot. The staff is amazing! And I can't say enough good things about Dr. Scheblein she's so nice and explains everything thoroughly and feels like a friend I've known forever. The price seems to be pretty competitive, I have two dogs and I was expecting to pay a lot more than I did! So overall I'm extremely satisfied and glad I found my new vet! Read Less

I can't say enough about the exceptional care and service the Doctors and staff provided my dog while she was boarded in Sacramento. I contacted them from out of state, never had been there before. Not only did they treat my dog, but they called me with a status report and made me feel at ease. When I returned, I took my sweet Westie in for a follow up visit. Always impressed with the consistency! The front desk staff is polite and professional on phone and in person. The vets are awesome! I've seen two and I liked them both. They've been personable and knowledgeable. Both Dr.s blew my mind when they sat on the floor with my dog! I have never been to a vet that sat on the floor and gave playful attention to my dog! I had a big dog Rottweiler 70-80lbs and they did this from pup to full size. I get why and it's smart the dog loves it! They are not judgemental about breed. My last vet was, I took my Rott pup 8wks old in for 1st time and the vet told me she was aggressive, we just entered the exam room! I said how have you determined this? He said the receptionist that came out to pet her said she tried to bite her! I couldn't believe it because I held my pup the entire time and all the girls in the office came out to see the adoravle puppy. I'm sure I would have seen it happen since I was holding her! Not to mention pups are mouthy. They did me a favor because that's when I started coming here. To all staff, vets, and management you got it right, good job! Every visit they have a new vet. I dont know if ownership has changed, but, the quality has. They have been dishonest on one occasion, and in my opinion, they are incompetent. Under treat is common, so you will have to keep coming back. But, they do it with such a nice smile, you may hardly mind, but your pet will and so may your pocketbook. My dog had issues with his skin and lump and has seen doctors here. It looked like allergies or skin infection so they gave us anti biotic and injections so calm skin. They also recommended a medicated shampoo which was about $50. I just came back from their office and this was my 4th visit because he is not getting any better. He has been seen her since October last year and after 5 month later and $600 worth of fee and mess, they referred me to see an dermatologist. I understand it is not easy to diagnose and provide proper meds to make every dog better but I just feel like I wasted my money and time here. I am not sure why they took 4 visits to refer me somewhere. It felt like they just gave up on my dog. They are super friendly and stuff but I am sorry, I don't think I am coming back here. Read Less

7 Dr. Weaver is a compassionate vet. who genuinely cares about the pets and their families more than money. Today, Dr. Weaver and her team walked my family through the heart breaking decision to euthanize our kitty. They made it as pleasant as could be expected, and even had our kitty wrapped in a comfy, soft blanket during her final moments. We had a private room with a special exit and were allowed as much time as we wanted to say "goodbye." Even the staff member who had to ask for the payment was as kind and unoffensive as possible. Some vets are good, some vets are great, then you have truly exceptional vets. Every vet at Sacramento animal hospital I have worked with has been exceptional. I recently lost my dog of 11 years and Dr. Siero was with me the entire time, from when we started finding things that concerned us, to when we finally had to put her down. Dr. Siero loved her too and for me that made a huge difference, knowing that my dog wasn't just another dog, but that she was invested in her health and comfort. This is a wonderful vet. Read Less

I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for about 3 years. My first experience was about 3 years ago when my cat was hiding from me and not eating. Apparently, when he escaped from the house & ate something poisonous.After 3 days of going to the vet and getting fluids. He was back to normal and eating everything in site.When I found a kitten in front of my house last year, I was able to make an appt same day. Zazu does not like the vet but everyone is so sweet. He always gets LOTS of love from the vet technicians Now I have another kitten named Waffles and she is the sassy one of the bunch. They did a routine check up on her & of course she has worms. So disappointed in their service. I understand they have a business to run but every time i take a pet in the exam has increased in cost. Today i called bc my cat is not feeling well and they have no appointments until tuesday but i could pay 83 for a drop off to be seen between other appointments, which is 20 more than a regular visit. Or they would give me a name of another vet. Taking advantage of people when they have potentially sick pets is wrong. I asked to talk to a manager about the fee and i was told there was nothing they could do. I think it is time for us to find a new vet. Read Less

I've been taking my cat Harry here for over a year. He had bloody scabs all over his champagne colored fur. I thought they were from my cat Buttercup (they play pretty rough). They shaved the areas around the scabs (boy were there a lot of scabs!) and cleaned all of them. Then I left him there for the day so they could also bathe him in a special shampoo. He wasn't getting any better and was miserable constantly biting and scratching at his itchy skin. :-( I brought him in a second time and it was treated as an infection (if I'm recalling it correctly). Poor Harry still wasn't getting better. The third time I brought him in I was seen by Dr. Nicholas, she was previously a microbiologist and she is fantastic. She suspected that he may have an allergy to a very specific type of mites (2 different mites). She prescribed a prescription Advantage which kills fleas and these very specific type of mites. I gave it to him every two weeks for six weeks then once a month after that (a liquid that goes on the back of his neck between the shoulder blades). After about a month I was able to take off the cone of shame (which he hated) his itchiness went away and all the scabs healed! With the itchy scabs he became depressed but once they went away he became his previous playful self. I think I ended up spending close to $1,000 but it was well worth it. Growing up I was taught that pets are part of the family. I'm so glad we finally got to the bottom of Harry's itchiness!!It's a year later and Harry is one happy and healthy sweet little guy! I just brought him in for his annual wellness check up and he's doing great. I also got him updated on his vaccines. Because Harry is so adorable he received a complementary ear cleaning and nail clipping. The staff here are wonderful and they treat your pets like royalty. Next week I'll be bringing in my other cat for a checkup and updated vaccines. Great veterinary care!! Read Less

I take my cat and dog here for their annual checkups, vaccinations and any concerns I have. The staff is always friendly and professional, and they are genuinely concerned about my pets' health, both physical and mental (my cat is a psycho, go figure). They're so thorough they'll call you back to check how your pet is doing. I got my feline spayed here as well and they have been there for me through every step of the process and recovery. Dr. True and the support staff here are all very friendly, efficient, and compassionate. They were able to accommodate me last minute when my pet had an urgent illness, and I wasn't even a patient of theirs! Dr. True was sensitive to the fact that i am a college student and my budget is limited and instead of guilting me into spending money she worked with me to find a therapy that was effective and affordable. An amazing crew. They have been our personal and our rescue organization's vets for over 17 years. We raise and rescue Great Pyrenees and have taken every one of our own dogs to them.
