Dr. Mark and Dr. Amy diagnosed our dog and gave us realistic expectations - and HOPE - about options to treat her while maintaining quality of life.  In all my years of pet ownership, I have never encountered more qualified and compassionate vets.  We drive 20+ miles to Northridge and it is well worth it.  HIGHEST recommendation!!! 2 stars because the staff at the front desk was always very sweet and very helpful. Otherwise, we are happy to not come back to this place. We used to take our dog here when we first moved to the area, and were really skeptical at the fact that whenever he would get shots or anything done to him, they would take him in the back without us. One time, they took him back for about 5 minutes or so and we had no clue what they were doing, and they ended up charging us over 300 bucks for who knows what?! They just claimed they gave him a bunch of shots and a "stress collar" and charged as much as they could. We were not happy. Then once, they gave him some shot he was apparently extremely allergic to...his entire left side of his face started drooping and he kept shaking as if something was really wrong. We took him back, and they gave him several more shots until he was finally better. I thought maybe there was a chance they'd either waive fees for the return visit or at least discount it for almost killing him, but instead charged us another 100-something dollars. We started going to another vet in South Salinas who told us that our former vet appeared to have over-medicated him with far too many shots and vaccines when he didn't need them. Wow...so Northridge charged us for shots he didn't need AND put him in danger?! No good...again, this would be one star if it wasn't for the sweet ladies at the front desk. Read Less

The vet and receptionist took my dog as a walk in right before closing. He was a new patient and even though they were very busy, they still took him in. He made a full recovery within days. I cant thank them enough. In appreciation, I make sure I tell everyone who will listen, this clinic has a very caring staff and lower prices than other clinics. I would never go back there unless I saw a different vet than Carol. She couldn't be bothered to introduce herself or greet me.  I just needed an "exam" so I could get some flea medicine.  I did ask her if she could look at my bulldog's toenails on one paw and possibly trim one or two that I thought were getting too long.  She couldn't be bothered.  Said that "would be another charge, but she didn't deal with the money part."  OMG! It would have taken her less than 5 seconds.  These veterinarians are so money hungry.  What's the problem with just looking at a paw?  I don't appreciate not being treated in a friendly manner or having to watch her stick a thermometer in my dog's rear five times to get it right. My kitty and I dropped in to see a vet because I suspected her tail may be broken. I was told I was more than welcome to drop in and wait until a vet was available which I did since I don't want my kitty to be in any more pain. I waited no more than 15 minutes and Dr. Iida saw us. She did a thorough physical and assessed her tail. Without X-rays she couldn't diagnose for sure, but said her treatment wouldn't change just knowing if it was broken or a fracture etc. There was swelling and my kitty seems to be able to walk just fine (no suspected nerve damage) so she didn't pressure me to do X-rays which I appreciate. We went home with some meds for pain management and my kitty seems to be quite comfortable and snacking at the moment. I appreciate how friendly the staff was and how thorough and caring Dr.Iida was. I just want to say that Dr. Clark and his staff are awesome. Kelly, Zachary, Liz and Camie are a great group to work with. This vet is simply the best.  The staff make you feel like your fur baby is one of their own.  I always feel so better after attending the vet.  They are kind and caring to everyone who walks in.  My cat was just recently diagnosed with diabetes and they are always checking in on her to see how she is doing. Both cats also like them as well as they give them "head butts" which they told me is a sign of love and they feel comfortable around them.  I also love how I just have to say my name and they know who my animals are.  What more can a person ask for. My dog had always had problems with his ear--every privious vet I took him to, told me that it was just an ear infection (IT WAS NOT!!!) . I needed a new vet because I had recently moved to Salinas and had taken him to another vet in the area which was a bad experience for me and my dog. I decided to go to the Northridge Veterinary Hospital, let me tell you they were so friendly!!!! As soon as I got there they were really nice. The receptionist was very gentle and understanding with my dog when she took him to the back to weight him. See, my dog is very aggressive prone with new people or when in new and strange situtations. She was able to calm him down, with out him having an "accident". When they called us in to the room we waited about 5 minutues (no big deal). When the vet came in he was very friendly, and came in ready to work. He was able to dignose my dog with a chronic ear allergy and gave me some medicine, that clear the problem up in a couple of days!!! Yes, a couple of days, compare to years in the other vets- that didn't even know what he had! He also explained the problem and reasured me that my dog ear was going to be ok, but he wa going to have flair ups every once and awhile. He also told me to call him every moday for a progress report. When I went to pay it was cheaper than my last vet vist, however, still had to pay around $150 but that was becuase I had to get my dog about 3 different medcines. I still use the medicine and to this day almost 9 months later, they help with when is ear flears up. Northridge is now my dogs vet!!!! I love this place! If anyone read my review on my last vet hospital you know how disappointed I was. I have found my new vet hospital and everyone is AWESOME here! From the first phone to call to every visit or phone call I have had since I have not been disappointed.  The front office the back office and all the doctors are extremely compassionate, attentive to details and listen to your concerns! (what a concept!) They really think about YOUR pet's individual needs and not just the particular issue they have and compare it to other animals. I am so appreciative for everything they have done for my dog, as she has a disease that is not curable but we are able to make her comfortable. The prices are very fair. The office is not fancy but extremely clean.  I prefer less fancy places because I know I am paying for the services performed not for some fancy office! I highly recommend anyone to this office, I wish I had gone here years ago! Read Less

I take both my dogs here.  They love the staff and I feel like the staff loves them.  We went to another vet a few years ago and I always felt my pound puppies weren't good enough for them, but my mutts are just as welcome as any pure breds.  I can ALWAYS get an appointment.  My little guys are always treated with love and respect here. I just recently took my 8 month old puppy into Northridge Vet to get neutered. First they managed to schedule us on the day I wanted the same week. I was impressed with this.The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although I talked to several different staff members over the whole process they are seemed to know what was going on with my pet and who I was. We had all 3 of our Boxers into the clinic to have them checks out and Micro chipped. The vets their are great in being through and up to date. The micro chipping process took only a few minutes but they go through all the information with you and make sure the tags and numbers are correct for each dog, if you have more then one. They check to make sure the chip is in place and are very good with the animals in general. I would recommend them to anyone in the area. The Home again Company for the chips are a little slow to get your animal on line but I don't think that should reflect on the clinic. The staff is one of the best I have worked with.
