The clan loves Dr. DiCarlo and Hannah! A lot of the complaints in these reviews are amusing to me. If your pet needs emergency care, go to an emergency room. Pets cost money-that should not be a surprise. If your dog has parvo and dies, that’s not the vet’s fault. Dr. DiCarlo is a great vet, and goes for the lest invasive approach, which I appreciate. Sometimes this requires extra blood work, X-rays, etc., but I understand that my dogs can’t talk to him about their conditions, so this is the way they communicate. Hannah had groomed one pup and provided K laser treatment for my older fella. She is kind with my pets and very easy to talk to! I love this veterinary clinic. Hannah is a carring person which make her an amazing dog groomer. She takes time to talk with the pet owner to identify what you want for the grooming. She handled your pet with care and will do a wonderful job. I highly recommend her to groom your pet. Read Less

The staff here are very caring kind and patient. I've been taking my dog here for three years and she is healthy and happy. I want to keep that going for as long as possible and I'm not stressing because I can always take her here. Clearly, the boarding care has been reconfigured to be more user friendly, smoother operating, and more efficient. The boarding person (Hannah) was kind, helpful, has a great demeanor, and is obviously knowledgeable about dogs. She was a pleasure to interact with. I see that they now have a doggy day care at a very reasonable price, and the availability of text updates to reassure you that your extended family is doing well while you're away. Animal Care Welness Center really cares! Dr. Di Carlo and his wonderful staff are knowledgeable, professional,caring and compassionate. I've been taking my fur babies to Dr. Di Carlo and his staff for several years and they have always received the best care possible. Recently, my precious pup Yoshi had to stay at the facility for 48 hours to receive a special procedure. Dr. Di Carlo, his loving wife Niza and the passionate and dedicated staff made sure to make those difficult 48 hours much easier. The incredible staff took videos and pictures of my pup and sent them to me throughout his stay to let me know how he was doing. It was such a relief and joy to see my little guy receive so much individual affection. Having the loving staff members with him was a blessing. They played with him and gave him hugs and kisses. Just like at home. He was even taken on walks and was able to play in a nice safe enclosed patio. I was also allowed to visit and spend time with my pup during his stay. It's not always easy to leave a beloved pet in the care of others however, I am truly confident that my little guy was in the best care possible. This place is awful. Both my dogs had skin irritation and the Dr. Decarlo had no clue, kept giving me the same meds every three weeks I went in for a revsit. I'm not a pet owner, I'm actually the pet sitter. Last Friday my client's dog was found deceased just hours after they left town. He was found by the neighbor who walks him daily. By the time I rushed home to assist her in handling him, his owner had contacted you and your staff was calling the house. Words cannot express the relief they provided during this call. In a time where we too were grieving, your staff stepped in and offered to come to the house and transport him. The compassion they showed went beyond any expectation we could imagine. I have been using for all my animal care since 2005 when I moved to San Bernardino. They have always given us excellent service all these years. No matter if it is a simple check up to the most tedious surgery of a 5 month kitten who was only 3 1/2 pounds, emergency surgery on a Saturday which took a little over 6 1/2 hours. We were not sure she would even survive, under their care she is a little over 8 pounds and almost 4 years old..Read Less

Awesome vet techs but terrible doctors. Two erroneous pyrometra diagnoses that another vet chuckled at when I told him. Erroneously telling me a bunny I rescued was going to die when that bunny was just fine after rehydration, food and TLC and no medication. Giving me a diazepam dosage that wouldn't have calmed a five pound dog for a 45 pound pit mix. Needless to say, I don't go here, wouldn't take my dogs here and would suggest you double check their findings with vets that have been practicing much longer.Read Less

We were forced to find another vet fir a 2nd opinion and came across ACWC. We brought our Chihuahua in to be seen and is being treated and more tests being done to track down the root of her issues. My mother's dog Sadie went to Dr. DiCarlo for four years. Sadie loved Dr. DiCarlo and the staff. In fact when Dr. DiCarlo would walk into the exam room Sadie could not wait to say hi. While Sadie loves Colorado and the snow plus running in the woods, we will miss Dr DiCarlo and his staff. I wonder if we will find a vet as great as Dr. D. and of course his staff. Read Less

We have been taking our pets (2 dogs and 2 cats) to Dr. jon for 5 years now. Like most people in Austin, we love our pets as if they were our children. Dr. jon is a wonderful vet - great with all of our pets and her love for animals is apparent. Over the years our pets have had various health issues and she has always explained our options thoroughly, answered all my questions, and worked with us to decide on the best options for us, factoring in the cost and effectiveness of treatment. While it might not be the least expensive vet office, I think it is comparable to other places we have gone and that you get what you pay for here. Read Less

So disappointed in this place. After leaving our French bulldog here for the 4th of July weekend, my mother in law picked him up to find out he hadn't been let out to potty for THREE DAYS. The girl was so rude and continued to describe my mother in laws wiener dog as a "barker". As soon as she got our frenchie in the car, he peed all over the car (very uncharacteristic of him). He pooped ALL OVER the front yard. Only more proof to us that he'd been neglected all weekend. Our frenchie went to Animal care wellness as his primary vet office. The staff was fully aware of his aggressive tendencies (snapping and having to take him to the back room each visit for procedures). NOT ONCE were we called and informed of his behaviors. Apparently he snapped at someone's ankles and then was neglected due to fear from the staff. As a professional veterinary office, we figured they had staff capable of muzzling/containing a dog with snapping/aggressive tendencies. Again, he is a small dog. After many phone calls, the girl we talked to confessed that they left him in a SLIP KNOT collar and leash ALL NIGHT because they weren't able to get it off of him. Luckily it didn't get caught on the cage and leave my dog to choke and die. My advice is to never board your dog here because they'll leave you with a dog with a probable UTI from holding his pee, a completely soiled bed and blanket we left him with, and a guilt that's pretty hard to shake. Any suggestions for a new vet? Never going back there again.Read Less

We drove an hour from our home to this Vet because we needed someone who specialized in English Bulldogs. Our 3-year-old bulldog was having a lot of problems with her eyelids rolling into her eyes and scratching her corneas. We knew surgery was the only solution and brased ourselves for a huge bill. We found this place to be extremely clean and modern and staffed with genuine animal lovers. The office visit was very reasonable, only $ 39. Dr Troxel was fantastic. She entered the exam room and proptly sat on the floor and examined our dog from that position. We scheduled the surgery for 2 days later. We were surprised at how reasonalble the fee was. The Doc did a fabulous job on our dogs eyes and even touched them up a little more upon removal of the stitches when the swelling had gone down, no extra charge. I highly recommend this office.
