I've been taking my dogs here for years. They are reasonable in price and will do their best for your animals. If they can't treat your pet, they will refer to someone who can. Doctor Lee is honest and will tell you straight out what is wrong with you pet. The other doctor is good too, but not very personable. Honestly- This place is amazing - I've been taking my dogs here for the last few years and I've NEVER  been let down.  Especially this last week they saved my dogs life by surgically  removing  a fox tail that was  embedded in her skin and had caused an infection. Time to get honest. This place IS in the hood. You WILL be tempted to arm yourself with whatever is handy. If you manage to get inside alive, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The office staff is very professional. My first time there, and there was no paperwork to fill out, no first time patient packet, no form where I was asked to sign my life away. I filled out the sign-in sheet and that was it. Really refreshing when you have a terrified dog with you. My little terrier mix Chloe has a skin condition where her pores get clogged and she develops quite a few cysts, which are usually benign but one happened to become infected. Here's the second take-home from this visit. They were FAST. I work from home so I was planning on taking an hour for lunch and hoping to be in and out. I was. A good tip is to show up right at 2pm when they return from lunch. I was immediately shown in to a room and saw the doctor minutes later. The doctor is a nice Asian gentleman, not the touchy, feely tree hugging type at all but the reviews calling him rude are probably overblown. He was very professional, gave me an honest opinion, and I just knew he was giving it to me straight as he gave me  several different options. The third take-away? If you're on a budget, you need to bring your pet here. I walked away in record timing with antibiotics, topical ointment, a cone and good advice for $60! To me, that's a great deal. I will never ever take my cat anywhere else. DO NOT LET THE AREA SEND YOU AWAY!! The inside is clean and the staff are so kind and on it!!!I recommend you call and make an appointment or check what times they're providing what services so you can ensure you're getting what you need. My cat had an extremely large cyst on her face and I feared I would have to put her to sleep because I wouldn't be able to afford to have it removed and it ended up being rather inexpensive compared to various other vets.  The cost included her check-up and removal of the drains they had to put into her face. The girls are nice but the doctor seems like he really doesn't care. My dog had swollen lymph nodes so they took a sample to send it to the lab but after that he didn't even bother to explain what I could do to help my dog or tell us what had caused this to happen to him. I took my 5 month puppy to get spayed here after canceling an appointment at a Yucaipa vet who was trying to charge me double the price of this place. Here, they pretty much gave me a next day appointment. At first I was skeptical because of the area it's in. It ended up being a clean friendly place. The ladies at the front  desk and vet were very professional and helpful. I was able to pick up my puppy at 11:30 and bring her home. Surgery went great! I was very pleased with their reasonable prices, no hidden fees like the other place. I just had to write a review on them, I highly recommend them. They also accept the county vouchers. Read Less

This place is unprofessional the Chinese or Japanese whatever he is didn't even put by dog shot they told me to go inside the room and I waited there for five minutes he came in right away put the shot he didn't even take 30 seconds and he left but before putting the shot the needle passed through my dog's skin and out and made him cry loud and I told him what are you doing and all he said yelling was next time you better hold that dog and I told him okay well you didn't even give me a chance to hold him and then i had a few questions for him because my puppy is barely two months and he was throwing up and I was going to ask him a question and he said you know what I don't have time right now I got to go it seems he was in a rush that's so unprofessional for any vet do to that I honestly left disappointed in that place I've been taking my other two dogs there for more than 6 years and this is the first time this happened and I'm sure I will never be back!!! My mother was charged $180 to have her cat spayed: the vet is very unethical his secretary assistant gave a price of $50 bcuz the cat might already be pregnant but the so called vet interrupted and said no ::it was a feral cat the humane society charged way less but we didn't have transportation. This place is a God send. I can't express how grateful I am that I found it. My dog got a really bad infected abscess in his anal glands. I went to another vet and they wanted to charge me $1200 to treat it. I told them hell no and came in here the very next morning. They took me in right away and the Dr was so kind to my dog he took care of it right away. The other place wanted to put him under but the Dr here gave him local anaesthesia and drained it without my dog feeling a ridiculous amount of pain. I think we found our new vet. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone I'll never go anywhere again. To top it off it's so affordable he gave my dog local anaesthesia, an antibiotic shot, and antibiotic pills and cream to take home all for $75. You cannot beat that. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Every time I come in with my dogs the vet, a middle aged Asian guy is very rude. He looks annoyed that he has to treat my animals. I've always been polite with him so I don't understand his behavior. Last time I took him my dog was very squirmy so he grabbed him by the paw with excessive force and I noticed anger on his face. I am never taking my babies to this place again and will warn anyone who asks. Also he kept insisting I needed a special medication for a minor cut my dog had. I took him to an emergency hospital and they suggested a cone and some hydrocortisone. Sure enough my baby was better in less than a week. No need for the special medication that this doctor was insisting I buy. He also went as far as to ask me how much money I had in my bank account and that they accepted credit cards. Read Less

I had gotten a kitten from a co-worker who unfortunately showed signs of a possible abscess shortly after bringing him home. The infection covered the whole left side of his face and began filling his neck/throat area as well. I brought my feline here to have it examined and confirmed it definitely was a pretty severe abscess. They discussed with me the two options I had...one being poking and draining or putting my cat under anesthesia and having it properly drained to ensure the infection would be completely removed. I was able to leave my cat here the same day he was examined and received a call within an hour of leaving. Care instructions and antibiotics were given and explained thoroughly to make sure proper healing would take place. I had to bring him back twice.....the first time to remove the drains and the second to remove the sutures. The healing process went very well and my kitten had no infections or signs of pain...of course slight discomfort with having an antibiotic injected into his cheek and throat. The cost was $250 which included the exam, anesthesia, procedure and antibiotics for afterwards. Any other place was at least $1,000 minimum without the antibiotics afterwards. So yesterday I went to several Vetenarian's and to the humane society and they turned us away. My daughter poor dog a bleeding from the eye area. And we were referred by my brother to West Highland dog and cat hospital and they were so friendly and nice they took us right in and the dr was great. He knew right away what it was and gave him an antibiotic shot and explained everything and ask us to bring him in the morning for minor surgery. And today we walked in and he was so nice and friendly and took us in right away. The Dr and staff members were amazing and I recommend bring you beloved pets here. Kinda sad to say, but these guys were jerks when my dog was dying. Came in with my dog bleeding because it got attacked by another dog. We came in asking for help, they ignored us when we walked in with blood all over our hands. My wife got their attention and said this was an emergency, the dr was a jerk, looked at our dog from a distance without saying anything, and we had to ask him if he helped animals or not based on his reaction. Looking bothered, he walked up to our dog, poked around him with a pencil, and then said, I have other patients here with appointments he has to wait. WHAT???!!!We left and took him to another vet where they admitted him immediately without hesitation based on what they saw when we walked in. I moved back to the bay area a few months ago and I haven't been able to find a vet as amazing as the West Highland Dog and Cat hospital.  I constantly tell people how much I miss this place.  SO reasonably priced and you never have to make an appointment unless you're getting your pet neutered or spayed.  LOVE this place!  Wish we had one like it in the bay area! First off i want to say about the review that person wrote u are very WRONG. ive been to this place for over 6 years now...i will never go no where else..ive always noticed the doctors hands and from what i see they dont have long enough nails for them to be dirty and ive seen both doctors wash their hands..every time they examine a pet. Friendly, reasonably priced (CHEAP), and no gimmick services. Have been going to this vet for over 5 yrs. Our first visit was for parvo and the vet saved our puppy's life. Today, Behr is a 100lb+ happy, healthy, energetic dog. We take all our fur-kids here. The CONS: Lobby is small, the doctors speak semi-fast, receptionist don't smile, and the wait time could be 15 min. That's the worst I could tell you about this place.
