I can't say enough good things about the Animal Dental Clinic and Dr. Farcas and Staci. My dog, Louis was the product of some irresponsible backyard breeders in Sacramento. Louis was born with a cleft lip. Thanks to our vet, who tube fed him from newborn he has had a healthy normal life. That was until last spring when we noticed swelling on his face. It turned out that Louis had 2 very serious cysts, one was in his nasal cavity. They were from cells that would have been teeth. Removing these were necessary for Louis' survival, but the surgery was a huge deal! Operating in soft tissue is extremely difficult. Louis was in surgery with Dr. Farcas for 4 hours! Dr. Farcas could not have done a better job! We just got home from Louis' 6 month post operation follow up appointment and he is doing great! my experience here didn't go as expected. I went In Search for an animal dentist for my dog. Basically board certified. I was referred here by another place I couldn't get into sooner. There's only 3 I found in this part of ca. Their all $125 just for consult. Here's were i didn't feel right about this place.1. The place is small so when they talk behind the closed doors, talk crap about you , you can hear them. Just FYI for the business.2. Dr.mitnoff ? I can't recall how to spell her name. Upon reading reviews after , I'm not sure if she's now board certified or not? She was nice at the beginning of our conversation. When she brought the estimate back to me , I noticed when I asked questions on some of the items listed, she wouldn't look me in the eye anymore. 3. I decided I would book, but when I went to the front desk , the same guy I heard talking crap earlier thru the door suddenly became super nice. Funny how that works. I didn't end up using this place. My est. cost was $1300-1700. I went back to my regular vet, and paid less than half of that. It wasn't as much about how much I was going to pay, but if she's not board certified, why am I paying more? I got a very shady feel from this place. If I ever need a specialist I definitely need to research beforehand. Read Less

Even if my cat would have died on the operating table, I would still write a  five star review for Animal Dental Clinic. Why?  Just like human doctors, veterinarians do their best to save their patients but is not always possible.  What happens in between is important. What kind of care patients and family members receive is important.             Our cat had a rare and difficult to remove tumor.  However, he is a young cat and we came for consultation with Dr Farcas to see if anything could be done. Dr Farcas spent a long time with us explaining what the surgery would entail and waht the risks would be. He did not paint us a rosy picture but a realistic one. My husband and I appreciated  Dr Farcas's honesty. At the end of the visit he told us to go home and take out time to think about it.          We desided to go ahead with surgery. After the surgery, Dr, Farcas explained post op care. He was joined by Dr Amy Farcas who came in especially for our cat that day. She is veterinary nutrition specialist. She gave us superb tube feeding instructions.          Dr Farcas answered all of our questions via phone and provide necessary medication adjustments to control our cat's pain.  He explained everything during post of check ups. We were very satisfied with care our beloved cat received. He is one happy feline now! Read Less

I don't feel compelled to write reviews very often but after my experience here I had to. My Darla is more than just a pet to me and I was more than concerned about "putting her under". When I arrived at the cheery hour of 6:30 AM Dr. Farcas greeted us warmly and went over every detail of the procedure. He let us stay with her while she adjusted to the first injection. We went to breakfast down the street and came back bout 45 minutes later and Dr, Farcas went over the x-rays with us and every step he would take during the procedure. Dr. Farcas and the entire staff are fantastic! At almost 10 years old, Bruce, our Golden Retriever, was way over due for dental exam & cleaning. Consultation went well...very informative & Bruce was relaxed in office & took to Dr. Farcas right away. Due to a cancellation...they got us in for x-rays & cleaning within days. Once Bruce was under anesthesia & x-rays were done...Dr. Farcas had me come in to the surgery & gave me a thorough explanation of Bruce mouth! Really appreciated the experience & education. Bruce came through like a, his teeth/gums look fantastic & total cost was $9.00 over the estimate given at consultation appointment. Came here after an unsatisfactory encounter with vca in San Francisco. Was very happy with the low key comfortable approach by this clinic. Had major dentistry done to.my 10 yr old Boston and while this wasn't cheap it was good value for the price.   Everything was explained fully and I was called mid procedure to advise of progress  My dog is much happen now and plays like a young dog.  I was happy with Dr Minchef. Dr. Farcas saved the lives of our two sister cats who both had feline stomatitis. We were treated with an appropriate sense of urgency, as our cats had stopped eating. Stacy worked us into a schedule that was already jam packed. Our cats are now toothless and pain free.
