I spent a great deal of time researching local veterinary practices before selecting Companion Care Veterinary Hospital as the place to take my 2 kittens.  Boy, did I make the right choice!  Dr. Satowski has all the qualities I want in my pet's veterinarian.  Professionally, she is well educated and experienced.  Her bedside manner is warm and engaging.  She is very generous with her time and knowledge.  I am confident she is well-versed in feline veterinary medicine.  She also exudes a fondness for kittens and appeared genuinely smitten with my 2 little guys.  All of the team members I interacted with were extremely pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable.  The office is clean and inviting and the prices are competitive.  I am so happy to have found Dr. Satowski and Team Companion Care, and I look forward to raising my cats under their care. Started coming here a couple years ago and have been nothing but pleased ever since. The doctor is very attentive, spends plenty of time with my animals and answers any and all questions I have. Took my doggo in after her limp got really bad. The service was absolutely fantastic and they were really flexible in working with what I could pay. Plus their new location is a huge positive and I love how I can drop my pup off at the vet's place and then head over to Von's for some grocery shopping. CCVH and Dr. Satowski define what veterinary care should be.Dr. Satowski, her staff, husband, and son have been taking care of our pet-babies since 2000, even though we moved from Poway to AZ to Coronado and to Nor Cal during the ensuing years.  We even travel to Rancho Bernardo to kennel our pets at the "Spa Satowski" when we are on vacation, because we know they will be well taken care of.  Dr. Satowski has tended to the lives of our dog, cats, hamster and parrotlet with her vast knowledge, determination, and above all, her honest care. She has followed our "babies" from puppy and kitten hood to the Rainbow Bridge, and for her support, I could never thank her enough.I see many people opting to take their pets to walk-in clinics or coupon-oriented chain veterinary centers where there is no follow up or long term care/concern for pets.  While it might be a cheap way to deal with situations as they arise, it is not the way to manage the life of a being. Use coupons and walk ins for cars, not pets. Our experience with Dr. Satowski has taught us the value of having a dedicated veterinary professional who knows our pets and their health history, someone who will clear a schedule or answer the phone, to give us honest and caring help. As for pricing, their services are competitive with the chain clinics (cheaper in the long run), and with the benefit of knowing that you will be talking to or seeing the same vet each time - not another unknown rotation vet who picks up the chart and starts from scratch.  If there is any question left about the caring atmosphere and total pet gaga-ness at CCVH, it's worth stating that many of the staff members have been working there since before we started - over 16 years.  They are totally critter-crazy and have formed a tight homey team where pet people are very welcome.I highly recommend Dr. Satowski and Companion Care Veterinary Hospital.  Take your pet there, meet the staff, and learn what it is to have a partner in truly caring for your companion. How could anyone say anything bad about Dr Satowski?  She is the most caring and compassionate vet with experience and current up to date knowledge! She is not more expensive than anyone out there either. They do not nickel and dime you either. If you have a yearly exam then anything not needing a Dr.'s supervision will be done by a vet tech, including blood work, microchipping and dispensing meds. They always have to present you with the most ideal treatment plan in order to cover their own liability and no one can say they weren't informed. Who said that Vets are cheap?  No one.  I thought that I could find a less expensive vet elsewhere but, it was more expensive.  The other place charged a doctor visit fee regardless of what care was being administered.  So if the dogs just need a shot and a tech could easily administer the shot, the doctor still insisted on seeing the dog and all he did was pet the dog while tech gave the shot and still I paid for the doctor fee.  NOT COOL, talk about nickel and diming.  I found that the care HERE at COMPANION CARE VETERINARY HOSPITAL is worth every penny.  NOT cheap, but reasonable & these people care about my fur babies.  Or at least, they are making me think that they care.    Julia, the front desk person is so personable, it makes my visits enjoyable.   The Dr. is definitely an animal lover as she should be.  I like it that she talks.  Wouldn't you want the doctor to tell you what she can about your pet?  I do!  Thanks for the care you give to my fur babies. Dr Satowski is the best. I transferred my dogs from other local vets to her because she has a no-nonsense, common sensical approach to the health and care of my dogs. I appreciate the time she spends with me discussing not only my concerns but hers and coming to an appropriate conclusion for the treatment. Her costs are reasonable but not over the top and she doesn't pressure you to pay more and do more than is necessary. She and her staff provide the estimates for treatment and then you make a choice. and she is ok with whatever treatment program you choose. The after care is great. I am so happy we switched over. Scott B. was spot on describing the compassion and love Dr. Satowski and her staff have for animals.   Everyone there has always been, for over 15 years, understanding of both our cat's needs and mine as well. My story is similar, having to say good bye to our cat, Riley. So happens he was their house cat around 14 years ago!  I had visited them with my new kitty, Yankee Doodles.  (Our first cat, Max, had passed about 6 months earlier.)  I explained to her Doodles wouldn't stop attacking me and that I might have to bring him back.  She suggested we try putting Riley and Doodles together and see how they interact.  Well, after only 2 days, the two became "best buds" for 14 years!   In the lazy boy, in front of the fireplace, on the bed, outside the bathroom door in the morning, etc. - always together. Riley was best know for massaging your neck when holding him and looking for papers to riffle through.   The Doctor was right, they were a perfect match.  She has a gift for connecting with animals and their owners.  That's what makes Companion Care so special.  Note:  I didn't go there for the ascetics,  I went there for the best medical care for my precious kitties.  I appreciated her taking the time providing me with possibilities, explanations, and options.  Definitely not a Drive-Thru experience. I am very appreciative of this place. We had the unfortunate visit of taking our 20 year old cat in to say good bye. We had never been her before but our other vet had changed owners. Called around to a few places asking about costs and one was almost $300. We called, told them our situation and what was needing to be done and they told us the cost and told us to come in and they would be there for us. They allowed us plenty of time with our cat and did not even charge us what they had quoted over the phone, just an office visit. They were very COMPASSIONATE as their name implies. When I went back to pick up our cats ashes I actually spent time talking with the Dr, her husband and staff. Thank you for the personal touch. Aweful Place.  Noisey environment, both from the hard surfaces EVERYWHERE, and the vet, herself is painfully loud.  Took my dog for a checkup, and she wouldnt stop talking.  After 20 minutes, I insisted that she touch the dog, which she did not.  She just kept rattling on about hypothetical things.Im not sure, but I think i walked out on her before the appt was over.  I dont know, because everything (communcation, exam, recommendations) were so scattered, that I couldnt keep track.I will never go back there again. Great Vet with significant experience. She tries to keep your costs low and seems to be reasonable in her pricing. Her staff are all young and cute as baby kittens, but more importantly, seem to all be willing to learn new vet procedures which Dr. Satowski seems to always be showing them (and you, which can come in handy!), which is consistent with the teaching nature of a "hospital". They always seem to be able to fit you in same or next day for pressing issues. The office manager keeps good track of stuff and helps with getting insurance stuff filled out and sent out, which is a real bonus. I had tried HMO-style vet at PetSmart but got sick of having to explain my dogs previous medical history to a new vet with limited experience every time we went in for something, not to mention the scheduling problems and their lack of concern for the emotional well being of my dogs. Though Companion Care Veterinary Hospital is almost 20 miles North of my house, it is well worth the drive past Bainfield 1 mile down the street!" When funds are slim I've told the doctor and she has been willing to tailor her services and treatment to my budget as much as possible. As an extra bonus, you may get a chance to meet her two doofus Goldens who are sweet and loving, their in-house kitty that likes to get petted, as well as her charming husband who likes to make small talk and appears to take the "Mr. Mom" approach in the family, which over time has endeared me to them all and makes me think of them as partners & friends in my large animal family. A+, Highly Recommended! p.s. I noticed one cheapskate reviewer here decided to submit a one star rating due to their displeasure with having to follow normal guidelines of veterinary care for the safety of all other animals coming into a vet office, especially for boarding services. 1) Don't be cheap, especially when it comes to the health of your pet 2) Don't risk MY pet's health due to you being self-centered and too cheap to insure your pet is healthy before exposing it to other animals. 3) Perhaps you should try Bainfield's HMO...
