I take my mini aussie Dex with them. I make the trip from north park because this is the best vet place in San Diego. Everyone is friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable. I tend to get here early when I don’t need an appointment, mostly because it gets packed later in the day. They always show Dex a lot of love and even gets a treat. He actually enjoys coming here and gets excited when we park.

Dr. Scoggin and her staff were all so friendly yet professional during appointment with sick senior cat last week. He was treated gently and with compassion during the entire visit that included physical exam, nail trimming, drawing blood, hydrating treatment, and food coaxing (all for around 200 bucks). By the next day, my 15 y/o cat was starting to eat again and be less lethargic from getting a boost with the fluids. Also, the vet personally called the next day with lab results (nothing terminal whew!), and we discussed a plan for symptoms. There was no up-selling or pressure for expensive treatments, medications, or foods. I am new to PB so I feel very lucky to have found this clinic for my feline friends!

I always feel comfortable that I am getting knowledgeable information from an experienced rabbit veterinarian. I have two bonded bunnies; boy and girl. I have seen the vet here from issues ranging from Ear Mites to GI Stasis and I each time I leave feeling as if I made the best vet choice. If you have a bunny baby go here!

Brought my 4 month old, 1.5 lb rabbit here for a spay, I was horribly nervous about the process but after calling every vet from Oceanside (where I live) to downtown San Diego, this was the only place I could find the best deal, everywhere else wanted me to pay them $300-600 to spay her! Uh... no thanks. Mama ain't got it like that! After contacting the House Rabbit Society, I was referred here and got the whole thing done with pain meds for my baby for $105! On top of the great price, the care the gave my bunny was excellent! After waking up at 5am to get myself, the bunny, and my toddlers ready and drive 1 hour in morning traffic to the hospital, they were quick about getting everything started and gave me very clear instructions on what to get and how to care for her afterwards as it's our first bunny. When I came to get her she was awake and seemed to be doing well! When I got home, after a few hours of sulking, my bunny was back eating and drinking, peeing and pooping. It's been 3 days now and she seems to be feeling great! Even the incision site is also not visible they put her back together so well! I am so so happy I found this place, excellent super sweet staff and although I had to spend 4 hours with crazy restless children in horrible traffic to make this happen, it was totally worth it! I am even considering bringing my dog here despite the drive! Thank you Grand!!! You guys are awesome!

I've been going to Grand Animal Hospital ever since I got my bunnies 4-5 years ago and bring my 90lb pitbull here now.The prices are comparable to other vet places. The only thing I don't like is that every time I come in they want to take all these different diagnostics and studies and blood tests and etc. I sometimes get the feeling that some of the vet techs (I haven't had this experience with the actual vets) are trying to up-sell some of their services. Power to the staff, but if you as a customer are sensitive with this kind of behavior this is your warning.Also I noticed that people are complaining about the staff. They are quick and to the point without sugar coasting and they're trying to help you even if they seem to be a little on the testy side. I've gotten some attitude from a couple of the staff here when I've called and also when I've come in. I brush it off and keep coming in because the vets are always really great and the techs are always willing to answer questions and discuss better options with me. Regardless, they've always been willing to work with my budget and always made sure to give my pets a thorough check up.Ask for the house rabbit spay/neuter special! That's what got me in here in the first place.

I used to love these people. Then, they diagnosed my dog with cancer and did a surgery to "remove the anal gland" that was cancerous. I have since found out (from a trusted friend that is a practicing veterinarian) that the surgery was performed without the aide of a certified surgeon AND that my dog still has both her anal glands. How is that possible, after my dog underwent surgery and I paid over 1k dollars? Dr. Scoggin has also pled guilty to tax fraud, I found out, it's in the public record, just Google it. So I guess that explains the dishonesty. I would definitely get a second opinion for any diagnosis given at this hospital. I honestly don't know, now, after 8 months of chemo, if my dog even had cancer to begin with.

Be ware of the doctors here ! They will charge you for things they never performed on your animal. I was in the room the whole time with my pet and took note of every shot given. When it was time to pay, they tried telling me they gave my dog extra shots that were never given, and when I asked for proof they were shocked and didn't know what to do cause they were caught lieing. I mistakenly called THREE days ago for my kitty that has cancer with a question for the doctor, instead of calling me back herself , it took THREE days just for the front desk to call me back telling me to bring her in cause the doctor didn't have time to talk to me. That is absolutely ridiculous that the doctor can't take 2 min out of her day to make a phone call. So if your pet is in any care immediately, FIND ANOTHER VET!!!

I was so impressed with their kindness and attention to detail. They were gracious enough to tell me how they prepared to take care of my bun. They kept him in a cage with food, water, and fed him carrots. They said they played with him and he was a sweet and loveable (always hungry) bun. (They would only know that if they interacted with him because it's true). They gave me full aftercare instructions and asked if I needed any help with anything else. Absolutely great people, my bun is happy and lively the day after surgery so I know he wasn't mistreated. Thank you for everything you did.

I needed to get my dog spayed, so i set up the appointment. I called afterwards to see if she could get her nostrils widened as well. The person on the phone was being so ridiculously rude to me for no reason. God forbid I didn't call it a Rhinoplasty. God forbid I ask a clarifying question! "I have been doing this for 30 years...." major attitude*. When I had enough, I told the person to watch their attitude with me (i have never had to say that to anyone on the phone before!). I am completely STUNNED at how horrible I was talked to. Found another vet right after and canceled my appointments. You don't treat people like they are stupid, especially customers! Not a good way to run a business. The lady who I talked to afterwards however, was very nice.

Went here today with my very difficult and nervous Aussie mix. The staff is extremely accommodating. I was also able to get my dog an exam with the vet right away. While the vet is good, I found the techs Leighann and the other one (dirty blonde hair, freckles, 20s, cute) to be extremely helpful and kind. While my dog gets nervous at the vet I get nervous too hoping he doesn't go crazy, but this place helped calm my nerves. Prices here are surprisingly reasonable and they do a lot of rescue work. If I need to take my dog back to an animal clinic, I would definitely take him here. Just found the staff to go above and beyond.

Great customer service. Took my rabbit here to get neutered after a recommendation from the SD House Rabbit Society, $70 including the optional take home pain medication. If you go to the SD House Rabbit Society they also give you a rebate if you show them your reciept. Within a couple hours my rabbit was eating and drinking normally, and by the next day he was acting like himself. Noticeable a little sore but that's to be expected.I've been to a lot of different vets around the county, they're very reasonably priced and informative. Even called the day before to confirm the appointment.Will be bringing my other animals here!

Very bad experience. Brought my puppy in for first visit with my four small children because I thought it would be fun for them to see how to care for their dog. The staff was incredibly unhelpful and did not lift a finger to even assist with my dog who was really over stimulated with the public outing. My kids were in and out of the door right next to the busy road and I was trying to restrain my puppy. No one offered to help but kept asking me to buy more and more stuff. Then they sold me heart worm pills and forgot to put them in my bag. It took me several phone calls and unpleasant interactions to get my money back. Unbelievably rude on the phone as well.

I have been going to Grand Animal Hospital for almost 20 years. I worked in PB at the time, and that's when I first had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Scoggin and her wonderful staff. I have moved several times, and even though I now live about 20 miles away, I can't think of taking my pets anywhere else!!!!! Dr Scoggin is incomparable in her compassion, and knowledge. I fully trust her advice and expertise. The staff is outstanding! I have gone there for spays, neuters, surgeries, wellness checks, emergencies, disease, injuries, and everything in between. No matter what the circumstance, or my reaction to it, I have always been treated with professionalism and care. I love my VET, and my dogs do too!!!!!

Grand Animal Hospital provides excellent quality service for a competitive and reasonable price. I was terribly worried about having my twelve year old blind Siamese, Baby, going under general anesthesia. They were very respectful of this, treated Baby thoughtfully, and did not move too fast or move towards her head quickly, realizing that a blind cat will be very skittish with that sort of thing (she actually has a bit of peripheral vision, which makes things worse in that she can detect motion coming towards her, but in a hospital setting would not know the source.) I couldn't have been happier with the kindness and professionalism of the veterinarian, or with the outcome of Baby's dental cleaning. I have a house full of senior cats, and trust Grand Animal to treat them respectfully and well. They also collect food donations for the Pacific Beach pier cats, and do other wonderful things for the community. So if you want to save money and still be assured that your animals will be treated well and competently, then I highly recommend this animal clinic. I was a veterinary technician for many years, so I hone in on things like responsiveness, cleanliness, competence, and customer service. I cannot recommend these people highly enough.

I was terribly worried about having my twelve year old blind Siamese, Baby, going under general anesthesia. My dog had a lump removed and they didn't notify me it was cancerous. They said they tried to call my land line and did't reach me. I asked them couldn't they have spent the money for a stamp? I can not believe they didn't. The lump returned and when I called them to see if they would remove again they sais sure bit I would have to pay balance of $100. I said fine and took my dog in to see the doctor. She said she didn't want to remove for I wasn't concerned about my dogs health. These people have no compassion or passion for the animals they treat. Only money is their concern.I found a wonderful doctor who did remove and gave my dog another chance at living.I would not reccommend this hospital to anyone

I take my mini aussie Dex with them. I make the trip from north park because this is the best vet place in San Diego. Everyone is friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable. I tend to get here early when I don’t need an appointment, mostly because it gets packed later in the day. They always show Dex a lot of love and even gets a treat. He actually enjoys coming here and gets excited when we park.

Dr. Scoggin and her staff were all so friendly yet professional during appointment with sick senior cat last week. He was treated gently and with compassion during the entire visit that included physical exam, nail trimming, drawing blood, hydrating treatment, and food coaxing (all for around 200 bucks). By the next day, my 15 y/o cat was starting to eat again and be less lethargic from getting a boost with the fluids. Also, the vet personally called the next day with lab results (nothing terminal whew!), and we discussed a plan for symptoms. There was no up-selling or pressure for expensive treatments, medications, or foods. I am new to PB so I feel very lucky to have found this clinic for my feline friends!

I always feel comfortable that I am getting knowledgeable information from an experienced rabbit veterinarian. I have two bonded bunnies; boy and girl. I have seen the vet here from issues ranging from Ear Mites to GI Stasis and I each time I leave feeling as if I made the best vet choice. If you have a bunny baby go here!

Brought my 4 month old, 1.5 lb rabbit here for a spay, I was horribly nervous about the process but after calling every vet from Oceanside (where I live) to downtown San Diego, this was the only place I could find the best deal, everywhere else wanted me to pay them $300-600 to spay her! Uh... no thanks. Mama ain't got it like that! After contacting the House Rabbit Society, I was referred here and got the whole thing done with pain meds for my baby for $105! On top of the great price, the care the gave my bunny was excellent! After waking up at 5am to get myself, the bunny, and my toddlers ready and drive 1 hour in morning traffic to the hospital, they were quick about getting everything started and gave me very clear instructions on what to get and how to care for her afterwards as it's our first bunny. When I came to get her she was awake and seemed to be doing well! When I got home, after a few hours of sulking, my bunny was back eating and drinking, peeing and pooping. It's been 3 days now and she seems to be feeling great! Even the incision site is also not visible they put her back together so well! I am so so happy I found this place, excellent super sweet staff and although I had to spend 4 hours with crazy restless children in horrible traffic to make this happen, it was totally worth it! I am even considering bringing my dog here despite the drive! Thank you Grand!!! You guys are awesome!

I've been going to Grand Animal Hospital ever since I got my bunnies 4-5 years ago and bring my 90lb pitbull here now.The prices are comparable to other vet places. The only thing I don't like is that every time I come in they want to take all these different diagnostics and studies and blood tests and etc. I sometimes get the feeling that some of the vet techs (I haven't had this experience with the actual vets) are trying to up-sell some of their services. Power to the staff, but if you as a customer are sensitive with this kind of behavior this is your warning.Also I noticed that people are complaining about the staff. They are quick and to the point without sugar coasting and they're trying to help you even if they seem to be a little on the testy side. I've gotten some attitude from a couple of the staff here when I've called and also when I've come in. I brush it off and keep coming in because the vets are always really great and the techs are always willing to answer questions and discuss better options with me. Regardless, they've always been willing to work with my budget and always made sure to give my pets a thorough check up.Ask for the house rabbit spay/neuter special! That's what got me in here in the first place.

I used to love these people. Then, they diagnosed my dog with cancer and did a surgery to "remove the anal gland" that was cancerous. I have since found out (from a trusted friend that is a practicing veterinarian) that the surgery was performed without the aide of a certified surgeon AND that my dog still has both her anal glands. How is that possible, after my dog underwent surgery and I paid over 1k dollars? Dr. Scoggin has also pled guilty to tax fraud, I found out, it's in the public record, just Google it. So I guess that explains the dishonesty. I would definitely get a second opinion for any diagnosis given at this hospital. I honestly don't know, now, after 8 months of chemo, if my dog even had cancer to begin with.

Be ware of the doctors here ! They will charge you for things they never performed on your animal. I was in the room the whole time with my pet and took note of every shot given. When it was time to pay, they tried telling me they gave my dog extra shots that were never given, and when I asked for proof they were shocked and didn't know what to do cause they were caught lieing. I mistakenly called THREE days ago for my kitty that has cancer with a question for the doctor, instead of calling me back herself , it took THREE days just for the front desk to call me back telling me to bring her in cause the doctor didn't have time to talk to me. That is absolutely ridiculous that the doctor can't take 2 min out of her day to make a phone call. So if your pet is in any care immediately, FIND ANOTHER VET!!!

I was so impressed with their kindness and attention to detail. They were gracious enough to tell me how they prepared to take care of my bun. They kept him in a cage with food, water, and fed him carrots. They said they played with him and he was a sweet and loveable (always hungry) bun. (They would only know that if they interacted with him because it's true). They gave me full aftercare instructions and asked if I needed any help with anything else. Absolutely great people, my bun is happy and lively the day after surgery so I know he wasn't mistreated. Thank you for everything you did.

I needed to get my dog spayed, so i set up the appointment. I called afterwards to see if she could get her nostrils widened as well. The person on the phone was being so ridiculously rude to me for no reason. God forbid I didn't call it a Rhinoplasty. God forbid I ask a clarifying question! "I have been doing this for 30 years...." major attitude*. When I had enough, I told the person to watch their attitude with me (i have never had to say that to anyone on the phone before!). I am completely STUNNED at how horrible I was talked to. Found another vet right after and canceled my appointments. You don't treat people like they are stupid, especially customers! Not a good way to run a business. The lady who I talked to afterwards however, was very nice.

Went here today with my very difficult and nervous Aussie mix. The staff is extremely accommodating. I was also able to get my dog an exam with the vet right away. While the vet is good, I found the techs Leighann and the other one (dirty blonde hair, freckles, 20s, cute) to be extremely helpful and kind. While my dog gets nervous at the vet I get nervous too hoping he doesn't go crazy, but this place helped calm my nerves. Prices here are surprisingly reasonable and they do a lot of rescue work. If I need to take my dog back to an animal clinic, I would definitely take him here. Just found the staff to go above and beyond.

Great customer service. Took my rabbit here to get neutered after a recommendation from the SD House Rabbit Society, $70 including the optional take home pain medication. If you go to the SD House Rabbit Society they also give you a rebate if you show them your reciept. Within a couple hours my rabbit was eating and drinking normally, and by the next day he was acting like himself. Noticeable a little sore but that's to be expected.I've been to a lot of different vets around the county, they're very reasonably priced and informative. Even called the day before to confirm the appointment.Will be bringing my other animals here!

Very bad experience. Brought my puppy in for first visit with my four small children because I thought it would be fun for them to see how to care for their dog. The staff was incredibly unhelpful and did not lift a finger to even assist with my dog who was really over stimulated with the public outing. My kids were in and out of the door right next to the busy road and I was trying to restrain my puppy. No one offered to help but kept asking me to buy more and more stuff. Then they sold me heart worm pills and forgot to put them in my bag. It took me several phone calls and unpleasant interactions to get my money back. Unbelievably rude on the phone as well.

I have been going to Grand Animal Hospital for almost 20 years. I worked in PB at the time, and that's when I first had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Scoggin and her wonderful staff. I have moved several times, and even though I now live about 20 miles away, I can't think of taking my pets anywhere else!!!!! Dr Scoggin is incomparable in her compassion, and knowledge. I fully trust her advice and expertise. The staff is outstanding! I have gone there for spays, neuters, surgeries, wellness checks, emergencies, disease, injuries, and everything in between. No matter what the circumstance, or my reaction to it, I have always been treated with professionalism and care. I love my VET, and my dogs do too!!!!!

Grand Animal Hospital provides excellent quality service for a competitive and reasonable price. I was terribly worried about having my twelve year old blind Siamese, Baby, going under general anesthesia. They were very respectful of this, treated Baby thoughtfully, and did not move too fast or move towards her head quickly, realizing that a blind cat will be very skittish with that sort of thing (she actually has a bit of peripheral vision, which makes things worse in that she can detect motion coming towards her, but in a hospital setting would not know the source.) I couldn't have been happier with the kindness and professionalism of the veterinarian, or with the outcome of Baby's dental cleaning. I have a house full of senior cats, and trust Grand Animal to treat them respectfully and well. They also collect food donations for the Pacific Beach pier cats, and do other wonderful things for the community. So if you want to save money and still be assured that your animals will be treated well and competently, then I highly recommend this animal clinic. I was a veterinary technician for many years, so I hone in on things like responsiveness, cleanliness, competence, and customer service. I cannot recommend these people highly enough.

I was terribly worried about having my twelve year old blind Siamese, Baby, going under general anesthesia. My dog had a lump removed and they didn't notify me it was cancerous. They said they tried to call my land line and did't reach me. I asked them couldn't they have spent the money for a stamp? I can not believe they didn't. The lump returned and when I called them to see if they would remove again they sais sure bit I would have to pay balance of $100. I said fine and took my dog in to see the doctor. She said she didn't want to remove for I wasn't concerned about my dogs health. These people have no compassion or passion for the animals they treat. Only money is their concern.I found a wonderful doctor who did remove and gave my dog another chance at living.I would not reccommend this hospital to anyone
