Dissapointed with all three veterinarians. The lack of compassion is obvious. They say they will do one thing, then retract their statements later. I wouldn't trust my pets with them. The front office staff are kind, but that's not the reason any of us are bringing our beloved pets to a vet. Beware, and look elsewhere. Read Less

My puppy died of parvovirus, they tried their best and the vet called and checked on me after his death. They really care, the vet was very sympathetic and helped. They did what they could and tried.. which is more than I can say for the shitty ER I took them to who let him die. Pet emergency and specialty center in la mesa.. STAY AWAY! Read Less

This was my first time bringing my kitty here and the experience was generally great. The staff was sweet, Dr. Klinger was very nice and caring, and they were very helpful. The only downside is you'll probably wait for about 20 minutes (despite having an appointment), but everything else is quite good. Lovely place Read Less

I'd like to add an addendum to a previous review of Mission Valley Pet Clinic. Since the unfortunate occasion in which our bull terrier was given two medications to treat a foot fungus in which an adverse effect of the treatment almost took our pets life, Dr. Green has secured a refund for us from the drug manufacturers. We feel Mission Valley Pet Clinic stepped up and did the right thing and by doing so, we extend our thanks to Dr. Green and the staff at Mission Valley Pet Clinic and would recommend a staff that is both caring and compassionate on all levels. Needless to say we are glad to have our pet under Dr. Green's care once again and would not hesitate to recommend treatment and care at this facility. Read Less

For most of my dog's life, my wife has been in charge of veterinary care.  My 11 year old dog took a sudden turn for the worse a few months ago, and after some tests, it was determined he was pretty severely cancerous and nearing the end of his life.  It feels like in this era there is a "money is no object" approach to pet care, and I was really concerned with what the care plan was going to be and what it would cost.  The doc's approach was that we have a dog who is 11, whose natural lifespan is probably 12 or so.  They were always sensitive to trying a non-invasive treatment or medication to make him comfortable, without trying to guilt us into a few thousand dollars worth of Chemo.  When it came time to put him to sleep, they were very caring and supportive.  I recommend them without hesitation. Went in to get my dog fixed, (she was in heat), the doctor said no problem, we can take her. Scheduled the procedure, and wait! I get a call the morning of, saying we made a mistake, we cant take her while she is in heat?? WTF? Ok, rescheduled for 8 weeks out. We went in, had the procedure, on the way out, one person said, give her 1/2 pill once per day, and then another said give her one pill once a day?? WTF?? Then they said they had tun out of "cones" and the we would be on our own to get one?? WTF. If I had picked up the dog that night instead of my wife it would have gotten ugly!!!! Disappointed with their poor treatment recommendations and overall rip-off pricing. During the visit my wife was told and 'sold' that our cat needed some vaccines, or else she'd be threatening the well-being of our cat...Not only did they charge her a small fortune (near $200), the cat was sick for 4 or 5 days following (they neglected to warn my wife and she found out researching the product's side-effects online). Now, needs another booster shot at extra expense! Like so many other clinics these days, this one is also focused on selling you questionable and expensive treatments. Our previous cat died mysteriously even tough he had his 'vaccines'. I can go on with the greed, lack of genuine concern, selling us questionable treatments, seemingly fake concern etc. Oh, and their flea treatments failed again! We trusted them but won't be going back. (Similar bad experiences at Banfield with our dog in previous years). Read Less

Had our Bull Terrier treated here for allergies and the Vet miss diagnosed our pets condition prescribing two medications which in combination almost killed our pet from a severe foot fungal infection. They followed up with us to apologize and offer a refund for mis diagnosing however we've yet to receive compensation. If your pet has any allergy issues I would suggest you visit another pet clinic. I am so grateful to have an amazing veterinarian so close to where I live.I started taking my Yorkie Yoshi and they were always available to help with any questions I may have.It feels as though everyone that works there truly cares about the well being of your pets and would not push anything that is not necessary. With all the options in the San Diego area, please take your pets elsewhere.  Someplace where they will respect you and not pass judgment on you. We are a military family and after traveling cross country and living out of a suitcase for 3 weeks, trying to find a home was a priority in my list.  Needing to board our family dog while we searched for a home and he could have some playtime and not be cooped up in the car, I decided on Mission Valley. However, half way through I get a phone call from Dr. Bevirt, who was completely out of line with the way she spoke to me, for not agreeing to a service.  I told her my situation at the moment and she then decided to judge me as a pet owner.  In the seven years I've had my dog, traveling, vet visits, boarding on and off base care, I've never been treated the way Dr. Bevirt spoke to me.. please do not give the place your time.. who knows who else she shames behind close doors. Today was a second time we took the cat to this place. And WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN, even if it's free. I dropped my friend's cat today to check up because my friend found out she has worm. So they called me back and said total cost would be about $390 and I said okay but I needed to ask my fiends because it's his cat and I can't make a decision to pay $390 lol because it's very expensive BUT the technician said" it's very frustrating that he can't answer" and she kept pushing me to pay so I was like oh okay, you just want MONEY!! then I said okay, I'll pay for it, just do what she needs to do for the cat, even the cat really doesn't need all what she said she needs. I understand they want money,that's kinda $$ grabber lol. They deserve 0 star for over all, not only the cost and how they push me. Now the cat doesn't look the same, she seems to be less active than before even it's been a month :(. Be aware, they don't care about your pets but $$. I have been coming here for over a year now and have had nothing but wonderful things to say about everyone in the practice.  I moved here last year and find them with the help of Yelp and Google and went off reviews.  I stopped in one day unannounced and asked for a tour of the facility and they were more than happy to do that on the spot.  Which you want a good place to do that.  If you have to schedule something I always worry that they are trying to cover things up and that you don't get to see the place how it really is.  I use both the vet services and the boarding.  I like the fact that my dog and care are boarded where their vet is.  If there is a problem, they are familiar with them and vice versa.  In fact, earlier this year there was a small issue (nothing major) while our dog was boarding and one of the vets called me let me know what was going on and had put together a game plan on what she wanted to do.  I was out of state and wasn't scheduled to be home for another three days I was so upset and beside myself with concern because he is my fur baby.  However, the vet called me the next day before I even had a chance to call her (I was in a different time zone) and gave me an update that he was doing much better and had eaten.  Then for the next two days I received a call from someone there just letting me know that he was fine, he was eating, and seemed to be acting like his normal self.  It made me feel so much better just to have those calls and they did that on their own without me even asking or even getting a chance to call in myself and check.I like the fact that anytime I bring in the dog (he is boarded more than the cat since he can stay at home a few days by himself) upon entering there is always a warm welcome to not only me but an excitement to see him as well. I've been coming to Mission Valley Pet Clinic for 10 years. I love the staff and I love the care that is provided. Many of the staff members that I met when my baby kitty was just a few months old are still working here. There is so much comfort in having the same vets and vet techs year over year. Especially when your 12 lb cat becomes a venomous, fire-spouting tiger once inside the four walls of a vet clinic.I've often leave the Mission Valley Pet Clinic, and say to my husband "I wish I loved my PCP half as much as I love my vet and techs". We've been coming to this vet's office for a year now. Our dog, Major, is a very nervous patient, and they are so gentle with him. They try to do as much as they can without putting a muzzle on him. He does get nippy about his ears, so the muzzle has to go on when they look in his ears. Recently Major was sick, I called at 5:59pm and they were able to get us in the next afternoon. They also schedule appointments for both our dogs at the same time, so we don't have to make multiple trips to the vet. They're open later than most vets, and they have weekend hours, too. They participate in the free vet exam program if you adopt your dog from a local shelter. Read Less

If no stars were an option I would give this place just that. My Dog went in for a spay. During the consultation the vet asked about removing the lovely fluffy fur from near my dogs ears where it had become a little matted. I said no do not touch it (once a month i do quite the process and work really hard to re-fluff all her hair). The Vet said okay. When we picked up our dog fur had been clipped for the surgery in the belly area, perfect. But then she had 3 legs shaved (how many ivs does the do need?) a large patch of her chest was shaved, the back of her neck/ shoulders, her ears and randomly half of her face was missing fur. I shall try to post pictures but picture no hair in these areas... on a dog with 3 inch fur. All the vet would do is say sorry. She admitted to saying she wouldn't clip the dog. Also the clippings yielded no signs of hots spots or wounds... duh we know and care for our dog. I have never seen my spouse so pissed. They gave us a free bottle of shampoo. Next day we went back and got all medical records for both our dogs... Then the head vet called and said she would pay for any grooming to the animals. No thanks, never touch our dogs. Too late for your sorry damage control. You should have cared in the first place. I would say compare this to hiring a Landscaper. He decides to chop down your front yard tire swing tree because it might grow to close to the side walk or cast shade on other plants... Um no thanks it is my worry. Your not a lumberjack. Read Less

I just moved here from Florida and took a chance coming to this animal care clinic just by a few Yelp reviews. Honestly, I honestly was just making a hanged, and I can't explain how nice they have been to myself, my husband, and our two dogs. The business is clean, the women behind the desk, work hard to make sure your needs are met, and especially on Late notice. They are reasonably priced, a little expensive but I always remind myself of two things. One being, I would rather buy something more expensive because it's better, and also, the money is worth having a staff of wonderful and truly smart and kind people, rather than having someone, whom may not do the same.This pet care/hospital comes with 5 starts, and I hope that this note will help others when looking forms good vet! These guys were great! I recently started caring for my furball in May while the owner was gone for a year. She had been spayed and declawed as a kitten, but otherwise never been to a vet in seven years. I got my tax refund and decided it was time for a checkup. I was also concerned because she's usually an inside cat, but I let her on to my balcony a couple of times a day because she likes to lay in the sunshine -- as such, I wanted to know if I should worry about any vaccinations. Everything was professional from Day 1. I called and got information and a quote, which was very accurate in the end. I set up an appointment, and they called a day beforehand to confirm. I had never had to put Roo in a cat carrier before, and ended up being a few minutes late because I underestimated how wily she could get when she doesn't want to go somewhere. It was no problem at all; I filled out my paperwork, hung out in the waiting room for a few minutes, and was eventually called into a smaller side room.The vet assistant (I'm sorry I can't remember your name!) was amazing. At first I thought she was the doctor. She handled Roo amazingly and was able to weigh her, check her ears, and her teeth with no problem. Roo got to explore the area a little bit, and then the doctor came in and gave her the rest of her checkup. We ended up getting an FVRCPC vaccine with no problems at all, and they informed me about any signs to look for in case she has a bad reaction. So far, so good!Overall I was very pleased with the help and support I received from Mission Valley Pet Clinic. They are beautiful people with a sincere desire to learn about all of the animals under their care and treat them accordingly. And, because I was a first time customer, they gave me half off of my bill! I was prepared to spend up to $160 and only ended up paying $66. These guys will definitely be my go-to vets. We love this vet clinic.  My pets love the doctors and all of the staff.  I've been a client for about 20 years now.  My cats, Cece and Puma received the best care and they were so compassionate when they went over the rainbow bridge.  My current people, Pebbles and BamBam just love the care they receive now.  We had to move to Escondido, but we won't give up the superb care we receive from everyone at this clinic.  Thank you so much for all you do. I took my dog to Mission Valley Pet Clinic today for the first time and I was very pleased with every aspect. I called around 3:30 and asked if they could see my dog today because he had been vomiting since the night before. The receptionist told me that they had one opening at 4pm so if I hurried over then he could be seen. During the visit, all of the staff were extremely friendly and caring towards my dog. Dr. Jeff Pollard then came to examine my dog. He was very gentle, friendly, patient, and took his time in explaining everything. I was nervous that things would be rushed since I was one of the last clients of the day and had scheduled so last minute, but I did not feel that way at all. And even though it was the end of the day for all of the other staff, they were also extremely patient and kind.Even though I scheduled at the very last minute, I was not charged any type of emergency visit fee. Actually, I received 50% off the exam fee because I was a first time client. It is a nice, intimate office and there was hardly anyone in the waiting room (which was likely due to it being the end of the day, but I can't be sure). I was very nervous about finding a new vet without a referral from a friend, but none of my friends have vets near my home so I decided to take a chance. I recommend trying Mission Valley Pet Clinic, and Dr. Pollard. Read Less

I could go on forever about how amazing MVPC is! When our fur-baby got very sick back i February, Dr. Green and the entire staff were doing everything in their power to not only try to figure out what was wrong, but also to make our dog as comfortable as possible while doing so. We have been going to them for many years and have never had anything less than a great experience! They all really take the time to get to know you and your pet personally and give you all of their attention when you are there. After a 3 day battle, we ended up losing our dog. It was absolutely devastating for us. A few days later we received a card in the mail from MVPC with a personal handwritten note from everyone there who knew our dog. Not just their signatures, a note from EVERYONE! It was truly sincere. Then a few weeks later, we received a letter from the FACE Foundation that they had made a donation in our dogs memory! We now have a new puppy, and have already brought him in for a basic check up, and we will honestly never go anywhere else! They are the absolute best! Dr. Green and the remainder of the staff here at Mission Valley Pet Clinic are one of the most phenomenal teams I have ever witnessed and experienced - and not just in the veterinary industry, but across the board. Over the course of a multitude of visits and calls to MVPC regarding my Bengal Cat Pico, I've had the pleasure of meeting or interacting with a majority of the staff - all of whom are awesome people and pet enthusiasts. Dr. Green is notoriously extremely professional and knowledgable in her field - but the game changer here is her  sympathetic, warm and caring demeanor along with a sensitive and solicitous attitude. These attributes obviously brush off onto the other employees here; I've also had the pleasure of corresponding with Mary, who has repeatedly gone above and beyond my expectations - helping ensure that my cat was safe and healthy but also giving me precious peace of mind. I could continue, but in essence - not only is every member of the staff extremely courteous, kind and professional - but they also exhibit and exude a real passion for their job that shines throughout every aspect of their forte. Mission Valley Pet Clinic is beyond what you'd call a "5 Star" rating or even beyond "the best vet in SD county"... They should be a prototype and example for clinics everywhere. There is no reason you should even be questioning which clinic to trust your loved animal with - it's Mission Valley Pet Clinic - end of story. Again, they're extremely professional, compassionate and truly care for the animals that you leave in their hands. I've taken both my dogs to this facility for the past 4 years. I think they are pretty good but since last year, I noticed that their prices has risen significantly. I was just told that one of my dog has an absessed tooth and needs to come out or the infection will spread into her system (basically tell me that she's going to eventually die). Talk about emotional blackmail. Well, if I love my dog, I will pay the $2200 for the procedure! OMG, I might have to go somewhere else. I will however continue with the yearly exams and boarding but the procedures, I simply can't afford it. My rent already went up from $1800 to $2250.Read Less

Honestly they are not only the best, you also feel like you have your family taking care of your family. This morning I took Zoe to the Mission valley pet clinic and they were very nice, the place was clean and the staff was great. The front desk girl recognised a lady who hadn't been in there for three years and remembered the dogs too. That shows she cares. I was seen promptly and the guy that did the preliminary checkup on the dog was very gentle with her and explained everything to me that I needed to know. He helped Zoe stay calm and did a great job. The Doctor was thorough with the questions about Zoe's habits and it was obvious she cared. When I told her that I suspected that the other clinic had caused her painful uncotrolled peeing, she didn't throw them under the bus and say they were to blame, but explained that it was probably from the spaying and explained the procedure to me. She gave Zoe a shot for the pain and medicine for home. The total bill was $130. The Our dog just got spayed in Moreno Valley on thursday and was starting to recover but then she threw up a roundworm. My wife took Zoe to another vet (Mission gorge vet, Not Mission valley pet Clinic) to get Zoe dewormed. My wife said the doctor treated the dog roughly and our dog was screaming during the exam. Since that visit our dog Zoe has been peeing on the floor and Screaming/whining everytime she pees. In all fairness it could be the pain meds from the spaying clinic were wearing off, but they should have been nicer. Read Less

Great caring/compassionate staff. Dr.Green is the best. Dr/Staff has given 5+ years of health we didn't think our dog would have! Dog had gone into ketosis and then found out had menegitis. With Dr. Green's wisdom and advising us, our boy got the best treatment and 5 years later is going strong, when there were doubts he would not make it.
