Brought our dog here to get some routine shots. We are PB locals so the location was very convenient and they have a parking lot in the back which is clutch! Cute little front yard to let your pet get as much of that nervous pee out as possible. Ha. The checkin counter has a treat container and a hook to place a leash while you go through the check in process. The veterinarian we saw was so friendly and our dog loved her! She also was very upfront about which vaccines were necessary, which we could think about and which ones we really didn't need. And priced them out so we knew what we were going to pay. Would definitely recommend to take your furry friends here Read Less

Every time I come in, I feel welcomed and taken care of. I don't feel pressured into doing anything that I don't want to do and am always given plenty of options to choose from. The knowledgeable staff explain all the pros and cons of the options. This past visit I had noticed that Archer wasn't feeling his best and had a situation that I wanted to take care of right away and I called late in the day but they told me that if I came in right away that they would make the time to see him. I sincerely appreciate this kind of customer service. I tell everyone who has pets to come here. You come here when you want to be taken care of. Read Less

-I brought 2 shelter kittens here for their first vet visits. Be aware that there is a base charge for every visit, ranging from around $30 for a "brief" to around $50-60 for a full examination. Apparently the vet has to see the animal every time you're there, so you will always pay this fee. -The reception staff are very polite. -My kittens were seen by 3 of the different vets over their 3 visits a piece to get their shots up to date and all of the vets spent a little too much time gushing and awing over the kitten for people who see animals every day of their career, leading some of my visits to take over 30 minutes to receive a simple shot or two. -In terms of competency I can say they seem to be fine at giving shots, but I haven't experienced any of their other services. -All together my 4 visits there left me feeling like they were a little to eager to have me come back soon. The way they insist on examining the animal even if they've just seen them 2 weeks earlier feels like they're fishing for something to treat, rather than caring if the animal is healthy. I understand they have to make a living, but no one gets a pet because they want to go to the vet, so please don't drag the process out with fluff and bubbles. Read Less

They also recommended one of the best dog trainers we've ever been to. Most recently we brought our dog in for an emergency situation with a dangerously high fever and odd behavior. Our Corgi mix is 13 years old. We decided to have 3 cysts removed. They were not hurting him but the one between his left rear leg and hip had become large enough to hinder him from going up stairs like he should. They had to do the blood work first and although they were benign they discovered that his gall bladder and kidneys were showing signs that they could be.  They would have to do an mri and other tests and he may have to start meds.So the Doctor asked if we still wanted  to go through the cysts removal. We decide that we wanted him to be free from what was hindering now and had them removed. $800 approximately with meds. We did not want to go through more tests starting at  $400 and beyond.Although he looks great for his age, he is in the life expectancy range but I think he will be fine for another 2 years and put it in God's hands. The surgery, healing process and follow up went perfect. I love the attitudes, intelligence, honesty and care that the office staff and Doctors give.We have been taking him there for many years.PLEASE BRING YOUR PET THERE.You and your pet will be well taken care of. I honestly wish I did not have to write this review.I brought my animals to Turquoise Animal Hospital for 8-9 years; that includes 2 dogs and 1 cat.  About 8 years in, I had to move from the local PB area to North County (divorce), but I wanted to maintain our relationship given our history with some of the Doctors.  This was increasingly difficult, because I work during the hours the hospital is open, and I am a 50% time "all in" single dad the rest of my waking hours.  I can only make it to the hospital every other Saturday.  Well, I needed medication for my cat, because she takes a daily thyroid pill.  I ran out...and I needed a refill ahead of testing - it would be 10 days before I could bring my cat into the hospital.  The hospital would not give me an immediate refill; I could have taken an extended lunch hour and picked it up.  I offered to schedule the appointment at my earliest availability (10 days out, with a 10-14 day limit on refill).  So, now...my cat is off the medication until I can find another provider.  I have seen in some other reviews the lack of attention from the Doctor staff, and I feel like this impacted my situation greatly.  Towards the end of our relationship, our favorite doctor, Dr. G, was almost never available.  Also, Turquoise could/would not recommend a doctor in my area and would not help with the transition to a new doctor (other than email of record).   This profession requires some regular community interaction - I would think that the Doctors within the county do actually know each other.      The final nail in the coffin: not one doctor from the office would take the time to hear my situation and then come to an agreed treatment plan/path for the short term situation (of the next 10 days).  I called 3-4 times over the course of two days to work something out. I never once got past the receptionist; the practice just exchanges chart notes between front desk and doctor.  Wow - just repeating that back to myself speaks volumes in my mind.I always paid in full each visit, always ran the extra tests, did my best to keep up with routine scheduling and maintenance.  My dogs/cat are always up-to-date on shots, flea treated, etc...The cost of treatment at this hospital feels like it is higher than most places.  They also run every additional cost when they can.  I am OK with this, as long as I am given flexibility/credibility within the relationship we are building.  Without it, I feel like I am just getting used.  This review could have easily been a 5 star review had the hospital done more for the immediate health of my pet and worked within my schedule constraints.  Check my Yelp rep, I generally only give praise.  Also, I have worked at a Veterinary Hospital before.  The job is less about hard-edge medical methodology and more about helping people through some of the most pleasing and/or some of the hardest moments in their life.  While the health of the animals is important, the pet owners are the ones really being treated.  They should come first in the process and caring for them as such will take the practice much further (people before "medicine").Avoid Turquoise at all costs - the Doctor staff will not value your effort and has lost its purpose. Thought me poor dog was dying, called and they told me to bring her right in. Ran some tests and they gave her some fluids under the skin. Not sure what was wrong with her but I was told to keep her warm and if she didn't get better to bring her back in. A few hours later my dog started coming back to her old self. This morning she is 100% recovered. I believe if I didn't go in there so the could pump her with fluids she might have not survived. When I took her in she was limp, weak, jerking, no sign of heart beat and hardly breathing. I'm so thankful to this hospital and their staff, they truly care about their customers. Read Less

Turquoise Animal Hospital is brilliant and I can't recommend them highly enough! The staff are professional, friendly and always welcoming! Our Standard Schnauzer (Prince) looks forward to his visits and can't wait to get there! He tries to enter by the back door, as he's so eager to go see all his friends! Dr Melissa Reed has an amazing interaction with the "four legged fur people", and happily lays on the floor playing with them and gaining their trust! She doesn't dismiss the owners either, explaining and discussing everything with us "two legged" people and never forces anything on you! She always willing to listen to all you have to say, and doesn't do anything without your total agreement! She gives the prices there and then, for each course of treatment, so there are no nasty surprises when it comes to settling the bill! The Turquoise Animal Hospital are prompt and efficient with appointment times and the place is spotlessly clean! I would have no hesitation in recommending them to everyone!Read Less

Read Less

They helped through adopting and caring for a kitten and puppy. They're also the only place I've found that offers free puppy classes and hosts lots of great learning activities for new pet owners. Read Less

At the end of the appointment we were able to find out what Peanut needed. It turns out he has arthritis and itchy skin which is normal for older dogs, today he is doing to much better after receiving the prescriptions he needed. He's even playing and running around again! We have been taking our dog here over the past year for routine care with Dr. Atkinson and he has boarded with them as well. We have found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgable. They also recommended one of the best dog trainers we've ever been to. Most recently we brought our dog in for an emergency situation with a dangerously high fever and odd behavior. It was a very scary experience and the staff was so caring and so on top of taking care of our dog-- This time Dr. Reed was on staff. They even called the next day to check in and see how we were doing. I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone! Read Less
