Vca Eye Clinic For Animals

San Diego, California
General Info
VCA Eye Clinic for Animals provides San Diego pet care awareness through the daily initial observations which grow into support and enable California households to have a competitive edge. Numerous veterinary appointments commence when pet owners observe slight alterations in behavior such as fatigue, pacing, vocalization differences, diminished appetite, or skin irritation. The clinic begins with a thorough intake discussion, followed by a physical examination to assess weight and hydration status, heart rhythm, ear condition, gait pattern, coat texture, etc. Every result is openly discussed, and every observation is recorded to form a constantly evolving medical history. VCA Eye Clinic for Animals offers multifaceted diagnostic panels and vaccine schedules while considering dental cleanings with mobility assessments and parasite screening alongside nutrition planning with senior pet evaluations. Care plans adjust to fit each pet’s lifestyle and family routine based on single-visit, phased, or milestone method implementation. Appointments may need to be adjusted either seasonally or based on changes in behavior, energy levels, and family availability. Post-visit reports offer clients detailed records of the behaviors logged and information on medication schedules and timelines. App-based scheduling and direct reminders for follow-ups are accessibly delivered, along with treatment pacing instructions and support at home. VCA Eye Clinic for Animals streamlines access for San Diego and California pet owners to identify early warning signals and take preventive measures, transforming health indicators into a manageable care routine. The team provides specialized services such as: - Allergy Testing - Avian (Bird) Care - Behavioral Counseling - Bloodwork - Boarding Clients consistently commend the practice for its attentive and caring approach toward pets’ needs. Whether your pet needs routine check-ups or complex surgery, the clinic will ensure that it receives the best possible care in a friendly environment.

Lost both eyes after cataract surgery. My five-year-old cocker spaniel had cataract surgery in both eyes at this clinic and ended up having both eyes removed. People are kind but all I want is the right judgement and good results. I paid $6,000 and whole family are still suffering a lot looking at my dog bumping at almost everything. Look at the sutures after eye removal in the attached photos. They can't even make both sutures the same?????? They didn't explain about potential risks of the surgery before the surgery (But you'll be asked to sign the waiver). All I heard was very high risk of getting glaucoma in the near future, which may lead to loss of vision/eye removal. What would you do if you hear the potential risk of not getting cataract surgery from a doctor? I would never recommend cataract surgery and VCA Eye Clinic San Diego to anyone. Read Less

I'm so happy that I found VCA Eye Clinic for Animals! My cat had a large growth on her brow which other vets could not explain or handle. After going to two different vets and four appointments, my senior cat was fed up with being carted around and handled by strangers. Thankfully, we then came here, where they recommended surgery, explained the procedures and options to me in great detail, and even have a cat-friendly waiting room! Three months later, she is 100% again with not even a scar, and the recovery went very well. Thanks VCA! Read Less

My wife, Terry, and I adopted a rescue dog from the humane society knowing it was almost blind with a cataract in one eye and problems with the other. In other words it could hardly see. Benji is around 10 years old and absolutely "loves us to death". We in turn feel the same about him. We decided to give him the best life we could so we turned to VCA Eye Clinic for Animals in Kearny Mesa, San Diego. Jane Ashley Stuckey, DVM, MS evaluated his medical needs and suggested the cataract be removed. We have gone with her decision and are completely satisfied and thankful that we turned to this VCA Eye Clinic. Everyone there seems to "love little Benji" and treats him as if he was their very own pet. We absolutely give this clinic the highest A+ rating available. Read Less

Eye Clinic for AnimalsOur regular vet took a few months to refer me to the Eye Clinic for Animals. I should have gone here first! My sharpei mix Rocky had entropion of his right lower eyelid. Poor guy was suffering for about 6 months. Within 10 minutes of our first visit to Eye Clinic for Animals Dr. Schorling said entropion, and my baby boy was scheduled the following week for surgery. He went in at 8:30a, and was ready in the afternoon for pick up. His eye has been perfect ever since. The surgery was approx. $1600, but worth every penny. I suppose I could have shopped around for a vet that would do it for less, or go to TJ as some people suggested, but for surgery that cannot be fixed if it is not done correctly I was willing to pay the price to have it done right the first time. I thank the Eye Clinic for Animals for being professional, and assuring me that my Rock-rock was in good hands. Read Less
