VCA West Bernardo Animal Hospital is located in the beautiful community of Rancho Bernardo just west of I-15 on the corner of Rancho Bernardo Road and Duenda Road. Our hospital is in the Westwood Shopping Center with the famous Edelweiss Bakery. We can be found directly across from Taco Bell and next to Continental Dry Cleaner.We are a comfortable, medically full service AAHA accredited veterinary hospital. With skilled and caring veterinarians we provide well pet and sick pet services, for puppies & kittens, adult dogs & cats, senior pets and pocket pets. In addition to our primary, preventive & advanced care services, we offer: complete wellness care, diagnostic and medical care, vaccines, including weekly Preventative Care vaccine Clinics; spay, neuter, and pet dental care; surgeries, digital x-ray, cold laser therapy, ultrasound, laboratory testing, stem cell therapy and house calls. We also provide a comfortable and safe boarding facility, and professional grooming services for dogs and cats. Ask us about CareClub, the wellness plan with easy, affordable monthly payments. We carry Hill's Science & Prescription Diets, Royal Canin therapeutic pet food, and a variety of treats. We recently had to put our 10 year old pup down due to bone cancer. Dr. Dave and all of the staff were incredibly caring through the entire process. Highly recommend them!

I've never had a bad experience here. I'm always in and out pretty fast, they've got my cat's records in order and know what's to be done, and they've never turned me away when I come in at the last ...
I've never had a bad experience here. I'm always in and out pretty fast, they've got my cat's records in order and know what's to be done, and they've never turned me away when I come in at the last minute with some emergency. ( Only happened twice, but great to know they won't tell you they can't see you when your cat is visibly injured. ) Each time I see a different Dr. so I can't really recommend anyone by name. The standout thing they do which makes me choose them over other places is no chit-chat, all business. For cats this is stressful so the faster they can do the exam, determine the issue and move onto treatment, the better. That is much appreciated!

Our family has been using this veterinarian since they opened many many years ago. Staffing has changed over time since then, but we have always been very happy with the service. They have done everything with our animals from regular check ups, surgery, and have even helped us deal with the loss of our animals. The groomer working there is nice, and our dog absolutely adores her. Every time I walk into the office they recognize who we are and are very helpful. The wait can be a bit of a pain at times, but remember, this is a smaller veterinary practice. I even conducted my senior project for Poway High School here (with Dr. Hackett), and the staff taught me a lot and helped greatly. Great place over all!
