I'm not going to go into all the detail because I want to put this whole horrific experience behind me.

But I cannot in good conscious not warn others about the criminal practices.
This is our 3rd visit.
1) we were promised a 2 for 1 price.
When we got there, suddenly they don't offer it anymore. After asking for a supervisor, they agreed.
2) Our cats were stressed by leaving the home for this reason, I requested that they do not take the cats until the doctor is ready to see them.
After 40 minutes of waiting I asked for an update. they said the doctor is ready to see them.
They took the cats. we wait 40 minutes and check in.
The doctor will see them now.
5 minutes later they come out with a $700 bill!
This is for a simple cold.
The bill was stuffed with 80% unnecessary fees.
Enough eye medication and anti biotic for 10 cats!
And they $500 for X-ray because I cat had coughed twice last week. Insanity.
For human doctors this would be insurance fraud.
They admitted that the X-ray wasn't really necessary. And that we can buy the medication ourself online.
Another person calls us and she has a whole new bill with new charges on it.
Now with flea medication for every cat.
AND
They again are charging us $60 extra that I corrected them about twice already.
I also asked, is it okay for the kitten to come in on Friday for his vaccination round?
Yes! Absolutely!
The other person said of course not. You can't vaccinate a cat when they are sick!
This was clear that either this person was lying or they are incompetent.
At this point, I can hear dogs barking and my cats have been neglected and left in their carriers for over a close to 2 hours!!!
So I asked for the cats to be released into our car as we figure out the charges and the treatment plan.
Because clearly, there are extreme discrepancies.
You know what she said?
No. You cannot have your cats until you pay the full amount right now.
Not only is this immoral and disgusting to hold a living being hostage. It is totally illegal.
I again requested and the response is you pay in full right now or we hold your cats hostage.
So I got out of my car and went to the door to ask for our cats to be released.
That's when she called the police!
This is so horrific that I wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen to me personally.
Finally, the doctor comes out and be apologizes.
He explained that holding the cats hostage is wrong and against their policy.
At this point, I only wanted our cats to be safe. So I paid the full amount and left.
What became imminently clear is this:
They don't care about your or your pets here.
This is not a vet office. It's more like a vet sweat shop.
They overbook appointments, give less than 5 minutes for every pet and try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible.
There is no attention to detail or care for the pets. And they try to pile on as many charges as possible.
Our cats are our children as I'm sure yours are the same. And I cannot in good conscious allow such predatory and incompetent behavior to hurt others like it hurt us.
And if you have been abused by this office in the past, I urge you to make it known. Contact the veterinarian board and file a complaint.
There are rules and regulations in this country to prevent abuses like this and we have consumer and medical rights. And such abuses must not be allowed to continue.
I'm sure Ocean Vet will respond below in their "nice language" and saying how much "they care".
But actions speak louder than words.
The same person on the phone was very "nice". But became extremely vicious and didn't hesitate for a second to call the police when she didn't get 100% her way.
There are a lot of honest and amazing vets out there. But this isn't one of them. Please support good, ethical businesses and lets stop these "vet sweatshops" from abusing more people and animals.

Cons: not impressed with the veterinary staff. My puppy's foot got accidentally slammed in the door. The vet barely examined her (only checked the paw, not any other joint, didn't observe her walk). The vet did not think she needed x-rays. I should have insisted but I was still traumatized after the incident and was trusting the vet's professional opinion. When she was still limping 4 days later, we took her to our regular vet, who thoroughly examined her whole affected limb as well as watched her walk, and who did her due diligence and got an x-ray and sure enough the puppy has a fractured toe. Coming to Ocean Ave was a waste of $60 and could have caused lasting damage to my puppy's foot by leaving a fractured toe untreated.

I called Ocean after I could not get an appointment at my "regular vet". When I started going to my "Regular vet" their exam fee was $60. That was several years ago and it is now $74. Its $80 at SPCA, and its $90 at Norcal EMERGENCY vet. At Ocean it is $60, and they have longer hours. You can get a $30 Exam fee your first time IF you check-in on Yelp. My dog has a bump on her leg that I thought was an abscess... this after having a vet appointment at my regular vet on 04/27 and the vet said there was nothing they could do further for my dogs allergies which were driving her up the wall from flea allergy. Here I am 30 days later in a urgent state. Ocean was able to accommodate me and it is closer by where I live in SF. The staff was friendly. I would say very friendly compared to my regular vets new receptionists. I do not think I will be going to my "regular" vet any longer and would like to switch to Ocean. Yes because of the cost but also because of the longer hours and I felt like the vet was willing to tell me effective methods to deal with my dogs allergies rather than throwing the whole sink at it like others vets have advised. I didn't feel judged like I have at SPCA and Park Animal which was my previous "regular" vet. The only other positive experience I had was at Norcal Emergency vet, friendly and non-judgmental staff. Why is this such a rarity? Anyway I highly recommend Ocean. They said they were going to clean my dogs anal glands but forgot and so they called me and asked me to bring her back where there will be no charge as they promised this as apart of the exam/consultation.

I like taking my cat and dog here because of the friendly and knowledgeable staff and because I can schedule an appointment quickly and easily. Their hours are flexible so I can go after work or on weekends and don't need to take time off from work. I can email them to get a summary of my pets' recent visits, vaccinations, tests, etc. In summary, I really value the convenience, great customer service over email, location, and staff at OAVH

I have always had good experiences at Ocean Avenue Vet. My cat Puma has been going to Ocean Avenue Vet for years for health issues, check-ups, boarding, and teeth cleaning. The staff is always super sweet to her and takes really good care of her.
That's really all you can ask for given our animals are our children :)

I started using Ocean Avenue Vet after moving back to San Francisco from The South Bay. The staff there was always friendly and helpful and always were accommodating.
I took my dog Max there several times and was always pleased with the level of care that they provided.
It came to a point when my partner and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our beloved dog of 14 plus years go. To say it was the most gut wrenching decision that I've ever made is putting it mildly. The staff and vets at Ocean Veterinary Hospital were kind and compassionate and amazing through the whole process. They allowed us the time and space to say good bye to the most amazing dog that I have ever had the privilege to know. They arranged for his remains to be cremated and took care of everything as we were both grief stricken and lacked the mental capability to function at that point.
It has been several months since Max's passing and it took me a while to write this review but I wanted to thank everyone at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital for all of their caring, compassion, understanding and kindness during my pets life and especially when it was time for his passing.

We have been taking our dogs here for about a decade now for medical and grooming needs. The staff here are caring and professional. I can always get a convenient appointment too! I love how patient they are with grooming too. We've taken them to other places and they have scratches and cuts on them; they've been scared to go back to those places too. That has never happened at Ocean Avenue and I wouldn't take them anywhere else for grooming. It's pricier but worth it in the end.

I can't say enough GREAT things about everyone at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital. The staff is friendly, informative and caring. Most importantly the veterinarians there are about doing the best for your pet. I first visited Ocean Avenue for an emergency that could have resulted in a surgery but vet wanted to try a less evasive route first, saving me money and very cutely noting that the bandage had to be purple as my dog was too cute for a simply black bandage. On another occasion, my dog was attacked at a dog park. I had to bring her to the hospital for treatment which included a drainage tube and stitches. When I told friends about the final cost, everyone was surprised as it didn't break the bank. My point - not only does Ocean Avenue provide exemplary service but they also do it cost efficiently and with the pet's best interest in mind. I've already recommended several friends to come here and will continue to so! This place is simply - the best!

I walked in very upset because my little dog had consumed some ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Mark at the front desk was very compassionate and responded very quickly to take my dog back to the Dr. The other staff at the front were very kind to get me to a room and get me some water. "Dr. G." was also very quick in is assessment and assurance that he that I'd gotten my dog there promptly and that they could help him. We agreed on the course of treatment and the blood work to be done. They updated me a couple of times and then we decided that they would keep him for observation and fluids for several hours. When I returned, everyone greeted me so kindly and new who I was and who my dog was. Again, I was seen promptly. Grateful Ocean's great staff and extended hours. (This was my second emergency visit there.) I have a very curious, mischievous dog!

Early may 2016 my 6yo Pomeranian and I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Singla, I knew my dog had a fairly large lipoma. Dr Singha set me up with a specialty surgeon, Dr McLain. They did the surgery and it went extremely well. They were kind, personal, professional and did a outstanding job. Kallie is a therapy dog for local hospitals and is now 1lb lighter after successfully removing the lipoma. She is now ready to go back to work. Thank you Dr. Singla and staff!

Ocean Ave. Vet Hospital is professional, compassionate and reasonably priced. I've been taking my dog here for a couple of years as she is prone to ear infections. She has also had a fatty tumor removed (large) for a very reasonable price. I've been to at least two other vets, who have difficult hours of operation (9am to 5pm) and cost twice as much, or more. Ocean Ave. has been great. Very easy to get to, convenient hours of operation (including nights and weekends!) and offer great service at affordable prices. Highly recommend.

From the women at the front desk to the vet tech to the doctor, everyone at Ocean Ave was amazing to me, but more importantly, to my dog Prudence.
We were running late for our first appointment, so I called and they easily pushed our appt back 30 min with no complaints. They checked us in and called our previous vet to get a history of her care. The vet tech was really thorough in going over Prudence's overall health and making recommendations while not being pushy. She explained positives, negatives and cost of each option and then left it up to me to decide. The doctor was so sweet with Prudence, got down on the floor with her and gave her a lot of love to keep her comfortable. Prudence really warmed up to him, and went to the back with him for her treatment and shots without a fight.
The cost was true to the estimate, and super reasonable. They even gave half off the check up cost for finding them on Yelp (without me asking for it) and threw in a free nail trim.
Both Prudence and I left happier than we went in, and I'm more than satisfied with the medical care she received. We will definitely be making Ocean Ave our permanent vet and I still have warm fuzzies from our experience earlier today.
Bonus: they have a couple parking spots on the side of their building for customers!

I have taken my cats Marley and Ziggy for their annual vet appointments. The staff at Ocean Avenue are extremely courteous and they do love animals. They were particularly helpful when I had to take my cats in for an emergency ribbon eating incident. The staff patiently x-rayed my cats and tried to make them feel as comfortable as possible. I also like that they don't try to push unnecessary add-ons to the treatment plan. They really are looking out for my furry roommates.

I cannot say enough amazing things about all of the doctors at OAVH. They all love our pup, Oliver, as much as he loves them. Despite repeated incidences of swallowing foreign objects and having more than his share of puppy colds, Oliver loves going to the vet! The doctors have been spot on with their diagnoses every time, and their treatment is thorough and has been successful every time. My husband and I joke that each of the doctors have saved Oliver's life, but it's actually true! We are so grateful to all of them. Their bedside manner is perfect. The nurses, technicians, and staff are all so sweet to Oliver and he loves them. Before we had pet insurance, they even worked with us on pricing to the extent that they could. They always put Oliver's health above all when choosing a course of action. It's unfortunate that we've had to make so many trips to the vet in Oliver's short year and a half of life so far, but we take comfort in knowing that he is in great hands with each doctor at OAVH!!!

The vets and staff at Ocean Avenue Vet Hospital (OAVH) have been amazing on 2 unfortunate emergencies with my pekingese. The professionalism, willingness to work on pricing, and follow-up calls are the 3 main reasons why I will always return to the kind folks here. The first time I went to OAVH, my dog was bit severely during a dog attack. We had no idea the extent of the bite nor how deep it was but in honesty it looked ok. However I wanted to bring him in anyways. Dr. Vara Guduri took a close examination and showed me the bite's damage - I nearly passed out. They brought my poor pup in and immediately had to shave, clean, disinfect, and suture his entire right cheek. Dr. Guduri was extremely patient in giving careful explanations on what was going to happen and justification for each step. At the end of it all he was thorough in his explanation of post-operation care. The staff gave me follow-up phone calls every other day - I felt extremely well cared for especially given the fact I called them on several occasions inquiring for advice on some problematic scenarios. Fast forward 6 months, here we are back again with my poor pup. This time with a anal gland abscess. This happens time to time with my dog and usually clears on its own however this time you could tell it was bad. I took him in and Dr. Shikher Singla took excellent careful care of my dog. He informed me of everything that could potentially happen and gave me my options - he even worked with me on the price. Later, I get a phone call from the extremely kind technician and she let me know that since my dog was sedated she went in to clean his teeth and nails. They even found a rotting tooth and extracted it. These latter services were on the house! Amazing! The day following the treatment of the anal gland abscess was a nightmare, my dog had not eaten/excrete/medicated for 24 hours. I called it in right away after I got off work. Dr. Deepti Pal made room for an appointment right away for me. She tried some of the things I tried at home thinking she would have a shot, but we both knew right away we needed to look towards injecting my dog's medication. Seeing as how this would probably need to be the solution for next couple days, Dr. Pal worked out a great price for me to come in for my dog's daily injections (as opposed to his daily oral medication). Excellent, excellent team of vets and staff. I'm going to come back here for everything.

We run an animal rescue and are faced with many unplanned emergencies, so having a veterinarian that is trustworthy and reliable is so important to us. Dr Singla and the staff at Ocean Avenue Veterinary have been absolutely amazing - Dr. Singla is very sharp, he has quickly diagnosed, and started treatment, in some of the hardest cases of animals with rare illnesses-helping to save the animals life by his quick thinking and action. i am deeply impressed. You will never find a kinder, more dedicated or caring veterinarian . Dr. Singla's compassion runs deep, he cares for each little animal with all of his heart. Thank you to Ocean Avenue vet for caring for our rescued dogs and for your incredible kindness!

Warning! Our pets were held hostage and they called the police when I requested they release them.
I'm not going to go into all the detail because I want to put this whole horrific experience behind me.

But I cannot in good conscious not warn others about the criminal practices.
This is our 3rd visit.
1) we were promised a 2 for 1 price.
When we got there, suddenly they don't offer it anymore. After asking for a supervisor, they agreed.
2) Our cats were stressed by leaving the home for this reason, I requested that they do not take the cats until the doctor is ready to see them.
After 40 minutes of waiting I asked for an update. they said the doctor is ready to see them.
They took the cats. we wait 40 minutes and check in.
The doctor will see them now.
5 minutes later they come out with a $700 bill!
This is for a simple cold.
The bill was stuffed with 80% unnecessary fees.
Enough eye medication and anti biotic for 10 cats!
And they $500 for X-ray because I cat had coughed twice last week. Insanity.
For human doctors this would be insurance fraud.
They admitted that the X-ray wasn't really necessary. And that we can buy the medication ourself online.
Another person calls us and she has a whole new bill with new charges on it.
Now with flea medication for every cat.
AND
They again are charging us $60 extra that I corrected them about twice already.
I also asked, is it okay for the kitten to come in on Friday for his vaccination round?
Yes! Absolutely!
The other person said of course not. You can't vaccinate a cat when they are sick!
This was clear that either this person was lying or they are incompetent.
At this point, I can hear dogs barking and my cats have been neglected and left in their carriers for over a close to 2 hours!!!
So I asked for the cats to be released into our car as we figure out the charges and the treatment plan.
Because clearly, there are extreme discrepancies.
You know what she said?
No. You cannot have your cats until you pay the full amount right now.
Not only is this immoral and disgusting to hold a living being hostage. It is totally illegal.
I again requested and the response is you pay in full right now or we hold your cats hostage.
So I got out of my car and went to the door to ask for our cats to be released.
That's when she called the police!
This is so horrific that I wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen to me personally.
Finally, the doctor comes out and be apologizes.
He explained that holding the cats hostage is wrong and against their policy.
At this point, I only wanted our cats to be safe. So I paid the full amount and left.
What became imminently clear is this:
They don't care about your or your pets here.
This is not a vet office. It's more like a vet sweat shop.
They overbook appointments, give less than 5 minutes for every pet and try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible.
There is no attention to detail or care for the pets. And they try to pile on as many charges as possible.
Our cats are our children as I'm sure yours are the same. And I cannot in good conscious allow such predatory and incompetent behavior to hurt others like it hurt us.
And if you have been abused by this office in the past, I urge you to make it known. Contact the veterinarian board and file a complaint.
There are rules and regulations in this country to prevent abuses like this and we have consumer and medical rights. And such abuses must not be allowed to continue.
I'm sure Ocean Vet will respond below in their "nice language" and saying how much "they care".
But actions speak louder than words.
The same person on the phone was very "nice". But became extremely vicious and didn't hesitate for a second to call the police when she didn't get 100% her way.
There are a lot of honest and amazing vets out there. But this isn't one of them. Please support good, ethical businesses and lets stop these "vet sweatshops" from abusing more people and animals.

Cons: not impressed with the veterinary staff. My puppy's foot got accidentally slammed in the door. The vet barely examined her (only checked the paw, not any other joint, didn't observe her walk). The vet did not think she needed x-rays. I should have insisted but I was still traumatized after the incident and was trusting the vet's professional opinion. When she was still limping 4 days later, we took her to our regular vet, who thoroughly examined her whole affected limb as well as watched her walk, and who did her due diligence and got an x-ray and sure enough the puppy has a fractured toe. Coming to Ocean Ave was a waste of $60 and could have caused lasting damage to my puppy's foot by leaving a fractured toe untreated.

I called Ocean after I could not get an appointment at my "regular vet". When I started going to my "Regular vet" their exam fee was $60. That was several years ago and it is now $74. Its $80 at SPCA, and its $90 at Norcal EMERGENCY vet. At Ocean it is $60, and they have longer hours. You can get a $30 Exam fee your first time IF you check-in on Yelp. My dog has a bump on her leg that I thought was an abscess... this after having a vet appointment at my regular vet on 04/27 and the vet said there was nothing they could do further for my dogs allergies which were driving her up the wall from flea allergy. Here I am 30 days later in a urgent state. Ocean was able to accommodate me and it is closer by where I live in SF. The staff was friendly. I would say very friendly compared to my regular vets new receptionists. I do not think I will be going to my "regular" vet any longer and would like to switch to Ocean. Yes because of the cost but also because of the longer hours and I felt like the vet was willing to tell me effective methods to deal with my dogs allergies rather than throwing the whole sink at it like others vets have advised. I didn't feel judged like I have at SPCA and Park Animal which was my previous "regular" vet. The only other positive experience I had was at Norcal Emergency vet, friendly and non-judgmental staff. Why is this such a rarity? Anyway I highly recommend Ocean. They said they were going to clean my dogs anal glands but forgot and so they called me and asked me to bring her back where there will be no charge as they promised this as apart of the exam/consultation.

I like taking my cat and dog here because of the friendly and knowledgeable staff and because I can schedule an appointment quickly and easily. Their hours are flexible so I can go after work or on weekends and don't need to take time off from work. I can email them to get a summary of my pets' recent visits, vaccinations, tests, etc. In summary, I really value the convenience, great customer service over email, location, and staff at OAVH

I have always had good experiences at Ocean Avenue Vet. My cat Puma has been going to Ocean Avenue Vet for years for health issues, check-ups, boarding, and teeth cleaning. The staff is always super sweet to her and takes really good care of her.
That's really all you can ask for given our animals are our children :)

I started using Ocean Avenue Vet after moving back to San Francisco from The South Bay. The staff there was always friendly and helpful and always were accommodating.
I took my dog Max there several times and was always pleased with the level of care that they provided.
It came to a point when my partner and I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our beloved dog of 14 plus years go. To say it was the most gut wrenching decision that I've ever made is putting it mildly. The staff and vets at Ocean Veterinary Hospital were kind and compassionate and amazing through the whole process. They allowed us the time and space to say good bye to the most amazing dog that I have ever had the privilege to know. They arranged for his remains to be cremated and took care of everything as we were both grief stricken and lacked the mental capability to function at that point.
It has been several months since Max's passing and it took me a while to write this review but I wanted to thank everyone at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital for all of their caring, compassion, understanding and kindness during my pets life and especially when it was time for his passing.

They are friendly and compassionate and so far have been great. My dog has had multiple issues and they have always taken the best care of her. I would highly recommend this hospital

We have been taking our dogs here for about a decade now for medical and grooming needs. The staff here are caring and professional. I can always get a convenient appointment too! I love how patient they are with grooming too. We've taken them to other places and they have scratches and cuts on them; they've been scared to go back to those places too. That has never happened at Ocean Avenue and I wouldn't take them anywhere else for grooming. It's pricier but worth it in the end.

I can't say enough GREAT things about everyone at Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital. The staff is friendly, informative and caring. Most importantly the veterinarians there are about doing the best for your pet. I first visited Ocean Avenue for an emergency that could have resulted in a surgery but vet wanted to try a less evasive route first, saving me money and very cutely noting that the bandage had to be purple as my dog was too cute for a simply black bandage. On another occasion, my dog was attacked at a dog park. I had to bring her to the hospital for treatment which included a drainage tube and stitches. When I told friends about the final cost, everyone was surprised as it didn't break the bank. My point - not only does Ocean Avenue provide exemplary service but they also do it cost efficiently and with the pet's best interest in mind. I've already recommended several friends to come here and will continue to so! This place is simply - the best!

The friendly staff worked quickly to see our sick kitty and the doctor patiently helped us understand the options for treatment. We were impressed with their care for Kiwi as well as the clean and bright waiting room and examination rooms. The doctor and staff followed up daily to see if we had any questions and we were so happy to bring her home to make a full recovery!

I walked in very upset because my little dog had consumed some ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Mark at the front desk was very compassionate and responded very quickly to take my dog back to the Dr. The other staff at the front were very kind to get me to a room and get me some water. "Dr. G." was also very quick in is assessment and assurance that he that I'd gotten my dog there promptly and that they could help him. We agreed on the course of treatment and the blood work to be done. They updated me a couple of times and then we decided that they would keep him for observation and fluids for several hours. When I returned, everyone greeted me so kindly and new who I was and who my dog was. Again, I was seen promptly. Grateful Ocean's great staff and extended hours. (This was my second emergency visit there.) I have a very curious, mischievous dog!

Early may 2016 my 6yo Pomeranian and I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Singla, I knew my dog had a fairly large lipoma. Dr Singha set me up with a specialty surgeon, Dr McLain. They did the surgery and it went extremely well. They were kind, personal, professional and did a outstanding job. Kallie is a therapy dog for local hospitals and is now 1lb lighter after successfully removing the lipoma. She is now ready to go back to work. Thank you Dr. Singla and staff!

Ocean Ave. Vet Hospital is professional, compassionate and reasonably priced. I've been taking my dog here for a couple of years as she is prone to ear infections. She has also had a fatty tumor removed (large) for a very reasonable price. I've been to at least two other vets, who have difficult hours of operation (9am to 5pm) and cost twice as much, or more. Ocean Ave. has been great. Very easy to get to, convenient hours of operation (including nights and weekends!) and offer great service at affordable prices. Highly recommend.

Pricing is higher than other places but they were very attentive and intuitive about my 80 pound pit bulls fears. He came in for an ear infection, they were prompt, seemed to genuinely love animals, and cared for him as well as I could expect from anyone. Five star service but the higher prices are the trade off.

From the women at the front desk to the vet tech to the doctor, everyone at Ocean Ave was amazing to me, but more importantly, to my dog Prudence.
We were running late for our first appointment, so I called and they easily pushed our appt back 30 min with no complaints. They checked us in and called our previous vet to get a history of her care. The vet tech was really thorough in going over Prudence's overall health and making recommendations while not being pushy. She explained positives, negatives and cost of each option and then left it up to me to decide. The doctor was so sweet with Prudence, got down on the floor with her and gave her a lot of love to keep her comfortable. Prudence really warmed up to him, and went to the back with him for her treatment and shots without a fight.
The cost was true to the estimate, and super reasonable. They even gave half off the check up cost for finding them on Yelp (without me asking for it) and threw in a free nail trim.
Both Prudence and I left happier than we went in, and I'm more than satisfied with the medical care she received. We will definitely be making Ocean Ave our permanent vet and I still have warm fuzzies from our experience earlier today.
Bonus: they have a couple parking spots on the side of their building for customers!

I have taken my cats Marley and Ziggy for their annual vet appointments. The staff at Ocean Avenue are extremely courteous and they do love animals. They were particularly helpful when I had to take my cats in for an emergency ribbon eating incident. The staff patiently x-rayed my cats and tried to make them feel as comfortable as possible. I also like that they don't try to push unnecessary add-ons to the treatment plan. They really are looking out for my furry roommates.

I took my senior cat here when I lived in the neighborhood. It was very close to my house so super convenient right off of Ocean Ave. The staff was very friendly and always willing to answer any questions I had about my cat. My cat didn't hate going there either which I loved. They were very gentle and knowledgeable! A little expensive but worth the service you get. What vet isn't expensive in SF?!

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for the care Ocean Ave Vet continues to give my diabetic stricken, Mexican Hairless boy Moe. Everyone is so compassionate and warm and extremely knowledgeable. They saved Moe's life not once but three times. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic.

I cannot say enough amazing things about all of the doctors at OAVH. They all love our pup, Oliver, as much as he loves them. Despite repeated incidences of swallowing foreign objects and having more than his share of puppy colds, Oliver loves going to the vet! The doctors have been spot on with their diagnoses every time, and their treatment is thorough and has been successful every time. My husband and I joke that each of the doctors have saved Oliver's life, but it's actually true! We are so grateful to all of them. Their bedside manner is perfect. The nurses, technicians, and staff are all so sweet to Oliver and he loves them. Before we had pet insurance, they even worked with us on pricing to the extent that they could. They always put Oliver's health above all when choosing a course of action. It's unfortunate that we've had to make so many trips to the vet in Oliver's short year and a half of life so far, but we take comfort in knowing that he is in great hands with each doctor at OAVH!!!

The vets and staff at Ocean Avenue Vet Hospital (OAVH) have been amazing on 2 unfortunate emergencies with my pekingese. The professionalism, willingness to work on pricing, and follow-up calls are the 3 main reasons why I will always return to the kind folks here. The first time I went to OAVH, my dog was bit severely during a dog attack. We had no idea the extent of the bite nor how deep it was but in honesty it looked ok. However I wanted to bring him in anyways. Dr. Vara Guduri took a close examination and showed me the bite's damage - I nearly passed out. They brought my poor pup in and immediately had to shave, clean, disinfect, and suture his entire right cheek. Dr. Guduri was extremely patient in giving careful explanations on what was going to happen and justification for each step. At the end of it all he was thorough in his explanation of post-operation care. The staff gave me follow-up phone calls every other day - I felt extremely well cared for especially given the fact I called them on several occasions inquiring for advice on some problematic scenarios. Fast forward 6 months, here we are back again with my poor pup. This time with a anal gland abscess. This happens time to time with my dog and usually clears on its own however this time you could tell it was bad. I took him in and Dr. Shikher Singla took excellent careful care of my dog. He informed me of everything that could potentially happen and gave me my options - he even worked with me on the price. Later, I get a phone call from the extremely kind technician and she let me know that since my dog was sedated she went in to clean his teeth and nails. They even found a rotting tooth and extracted it. These latter services were on the house! Amazing! The day following the treatment of the anal gland abscess was a nightmare, my dog had not eaten/excrete/medicated for 24 hours. I called it in right away after I got off work. Dr. Deepti Pal made room for an appointment right away for me. She tried some of the things I tried at home thinking she would have a shot, but we both knew right away we needed to look towards injecting my dog's medication. Seeing as how this would probably need to be the solution for next couple days, Dr. Pal worked out a great price for me to come in for my dog's daily injections (as opposed to his daily oral medication). Excellent, excellent team of vets and staff. I'm going to come back here for everything.

We run an animal rescue and are faced with many unplanned emergencies, so having a veterinarian that is trustworthy and reliable is so important to us. Dr Singla and the staff at Ocean Avenue Veterinary have been absolutely amazing - Dr. Singla is very sharp, he has quickly diagnosed, and started treatment, in some of the hardest cases of animals with rare illnesses-helping to save the animals life by his quick thinking and action. i am deeply impressed. You will never find a kinder, more dedicated or caring veterinarian . Dr. Singla's compassion runs deep, he cares for each little animal with all of his heart. Thank you to Ocean Avenue vet for caring for our rescued dogs and for your incredible kindness!
