I think this vet hospital is a gem. It's conveniently located, has excellent hours and accessibility for appointments and for drop in questions and product purchases. I dropped in for an emergency once as well . It's so reassuring to know how experienced Dr. Chahal is with cats, dogs and large farm animals.  He saved our cat's life when he became gravely ill. We are so fortunate to have our cat with us today. Dr. Cotton has been so good to our cat too. He is a sweet cat, but at the vets office the "tiger" comes out. Dr Cotton and the staff managed to handle him professionally and skillfully as to get the tests they needed despite his defensive behaviors. I have been bringing my cats to Canyon Creek Pet Hospital since they first opened. I have never had a bad experience with the care of my cats or how they treat me. They all have been kind and caring with how they handle my cats. They treat them and me like family. My Vet is Dr Chahal. I have found him to be extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. We treat my cats as a team. One of my cats was losing fur...licking and chewing the back of his paws and tummy. I had taken him to another close by clinic. They had wanted to put him on antidepressants because they felt he was acting out of anxiety. I knew my cat was relaxed and not experiencing anxiety. That is when I took him to Dr Chahal. Long story short Dr Chahal believed the behavior was caused by allergies. He did an allergy test and it showed what things we needed to avoid. He also suggested a certain medication which we tried. Thanks to Dr Chahal my cats no longer itches and chews. Another time I had decided to catch a feral I had been feeding for a couple of years. Dr Chahal assisted me with advice on how to crate him to bring him into the clinic.  I didn't want to risk bringing anything into my home that my cats would catch so they kept my feral at the clinic until all tests were completed.  I was encouraged to visit any time I wanted....which I did. I can't praise Dr Chahal or his staff enough. My cats and I are treated with respect and kindness. I would not hesitate recommending this clinic to anyone. I am so grateful this clinic is in my area.  They are open 7 days a week....no extra charge for nights or weekends. The clinic is immaculate. The staff is helpful, friendly and accessible. I've been going to Dr. Chahal for at least 10 years, not only for my own dogs and cats but the cats I've fostered for 13th St. Cats. I originally selected Dr. Chahal as my vet when he owned Akal Animal Hospital because it was very close to my house. And I hold Dr. Chahal in such high regard that even though Canyon Creek is a bit of a distance for me, I still prefer him over all other vets. I have had him care for my two shih tzus, two poodles, and countless cats and have been happy with his expertise and care. I have never felt rushed, or pressured into a particular path I did not want to go down.  When my shih tzu developed an unusual eye issue, Dr. Chahal did not hesitate to recommend a specialist which was exactly what was needed. My animals mean everything to me and I want the best care I can get for them. Dr. Bellinghausen, Dr. Cotten and Dr. Johal have been wonderful to work with over the past decade. They have cared for and managed complicated end of life conditions like colon cancer, and congestive heart failure for five older animals (dogs and cats) with great sensitivity and care. They are very diligent and thoughtful about all the medicines we needed to give. They really listen. They were also very practical and open about our choices, never making us feel guilty or pressured if we didn't want heroic measures for our elderly animals, and alternately sprung into action pulling out all the stops when we DID want heroic measures. I like their long hours so I can drop my animals off on the way to work at pick up by 10p. Super easy to deal with, and close to other conveniences like New Leaf, Starbucks. Highly recommended. I gave 4 stars because it was only my first experience with this business. Its very interesting because another reviewer posted today with a 1 star review and she saw the same vet as I did and had a very different opinion/experience. I thought he was great and I'm pretty picky!Today I went to Canyon Creek for the first time. My dogs and I went on a hike yesterday and this morning one of my dogs was favoring her right back leg and didn't want to walk or put weight on it. I'm very anxious when it comes to the health of my pets and that can be good and bad. We lost our whippet to CHF last year and I'm very proactive when it comes to the health of my two Podencos (they are both rescues from Spain). Anyways I called my regular vet and he couldn't see her till tomorrow. I called Silver Creek which is about a block from my house and they were booked too. Then I called Whole Pet in Los Gatos and they could squeeze me in but not until 5pm. I didn't want to wait. I called Canyon Creek and they were able to get me in right away. The clinic itself is very nice and clean. The receptionist(s) were nice. We were taken into an exam room and about 5 mins later Dr. Chahal comes in. My dog is VERY shy. It takes her quite a long time to warm up to people. She is very sweet and will let a vet do anything to her (no fear biting or anything like that) but she is still very shy. I was very impressed with Dr. Chahal. He knew how to approach a shy dog and he was calm, relaxed, and spent quite a few extra minutes to gain her trust with treats before trying to examine her. His exam was very thorough. He explained what he wanted to do and gave me a clear estimate. He even offered me a cheaper option for blood work. I was given pain meds and an anti inflammatory spray for my dogs foot (we think she got bit by something on our hike). Blood work was done in house which I LOVED. Results back in 20 minutes and no anxiety for me!The prices were pretty much the only downside. But given the area and the expensive equipment they have and the late hours I can totally understand a bit higher pricing. I love that they didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. It was just a foot wound so maybe if it was something else they would have but so far I am very happy. I asked the Dr about his opinion on certain flea and tick brands and he gave me an honest opinion and respected that I was very knowledgeable about the products (I work for a pet food store that has a lot of product training). Oh! I almost forgot to mention. I told the receptionist that my dog was insured with Trupanion and he filed the claim for me! I thought that was fantastic!!I am happy and will definitely be back! let's talk about Petunia-- another one of our miracle kitten recoveries. Petunia was the tiniest little thing and just would not grow!! All her siblings were healthy and happy and moved onto forever homes. Petunia lagged far behind. She alternated between being very constipated or having horrible diarrhea. She was seen by specialists; hospitalized overnight a few times and looked like she would not make it !! Fianlly, the vets at canyon creek were able to diagnose her with a rare parasite- Tritrichomonas foetus -- and with a lot of intense nursing care by her foster mom- she started getting better and growing stronger! Many people helped with her care- held her, cleaned her and fed her. It took a village for sure!! Petunia has now been adopted by an amazing family and continues to be healthy and happy This post is from 13 th st cat rescue and we are so indebted to this hospital for saving petunia and helping us with so many other rescue kitties over the years. Canyon Creek Pet Hospital is such a great pet hospital! Amazing people work there. They saved my dog. Only because of professionalism of Dr. Chahal and his wonderful team my dog is still alive.   Severe abdominal surgery was done successfully. After couple of months I hardly could find any scar after it. Right after the surgery they called me constantly to know about my dog's condition and to help me what to do and how to take care of my dog after surgery. Everyone there is exceptionally nice and helpful. Our first visit there was at 9:45pm for an emergency. Everyone there was extremely caring about our situation and we didn't feel rushed out of there due to them closing. They took their time, ran all testes possible, and gave us such awesome service. The care that came from Dr. Chahal and the staff was above and beyond anyone could ask for which is why we haven't left. My 2 dogs have gotten good care and I have gotten good advice about how to feed them right and provide them with proper preventative care. I have 2 spoiled cats named Muffy and Dahlia who needed to find a new vet since we just moved into the area. I was very happy to find Canyon Creek Pet Hospital to take care of my babies. They were both due for heartworm tests and medication plus my older cat Muffy was not acting like she felt good. Dr. Gill examined her and took a blood test. It turns out she was diabetic. She acts like she feels much better now that she is taking the medication she needed and eating a proper diet. Nobody really wants to go to the veterinarian I guess, especially in an emergency, but my first experience with Canyon Creek Pet Hospital was terrific. My cat suddenly started having trouble urinating which scared me to death. But I was able to get her in to see the vet right away and the doctor said she had a urinary tract infection which they treated with medication and she is much better 2 days later. I learned that this problem is not only common but very dangerous for cats. Relieved and problem solved. Read Less

Dr. Gill has taken care of my Sheltie since he was a pup. Buster has needed veterinary care for allergies and chronic dermatitis most of his life along with low allergen prescription food. Dr. Gill has always been there for us through every crisis – for me with comfort and assurance that Buster will be OK, and for Buster with excellent treatment. I am grateful for his expertise. Came home to my 11 week old boxer puppy not putting weight on her left hind leg. Looked up this clinic today because we had passed by it going to the grocery store before and had discussed checking out this place since we weren't really fully satisfied with our primary vet. Coincidentally, this was the closest place that was open and near our house so I decided to drop by, no phone call, no appointment or anything. Just walked in and had my poor Leila seen within 5 minuted of filling out the patient intake form and that was with other appts there as well. The lady working the front desk was very friendly and personable as was the Vet (Ms.Dr. Edwards). She performed an exam and informed me the best course of action was to have an X-Ray done to fully see the extent of the injury which I agreed to and good thing I did because turns out Leila had a fractured leg right below her kneecap! Dr. Edwards had her in a splint within 10-15 mins and out the door! Overall experience was great, clinic was very clean and nice looking. Would def recommend this place and will be bringing her here in the future for all our vet needs due to the excellent service received!!! Read Less
