I have been taking my 3 labs to lincoln ave vet clinic for many years. Cole (my black lab) is a regular as he is plagued with allergies. Haley my yellow lab has gone thru treatment for throat cancer. They love our dogs at Lincoln and I can truly say our pets aren't afraid when they have a visit. The docs are knowledgeable in the latest treatments and always make great recommendations. If a specialist is needed they know who to send you to and don't hesitate to do so. They just want whats best for my beloved pets (kids). I would recommend taking your pets her absolutely! Read Less

Dr. Nagel gave my female cat Gregg amazing care. We knew something in her mouth had been bothering her because she was dropping her food occasionally, even though she didn't exhibit signs of pain or bad breath. I took her in for a tooth cleaning and on the initial exam (yes, it is common practice to have an initial exam before a surgery) Dr. Nagel noticed a resorptive lesion on her canine. The tooth needed to come out, and this was verified by a second vet friend via a picture. Dr. Nagel quoted me accurately and when the procedure had started, he called me up and informed me he had found 2 other resorptive lesions on the back of another fang and a molar. He removed these together, and the cost of the tooth cleaning and surgery ended up being reasonable.I'm glad my cat had such professional care. This review is for Juan Hurtado (aka Jay) the groomer.  Groomer does not do him justice!  Juan is not only the best dog stylist (meaning he doesn't just shave dogs naked) he truly cares for all of his clients.   To find a groomer with his talent and heart is priceless.  Rocco (my maltipoo) and I are proud and lucky to be able to say we are among his very first clients. I meet Juan when Rocco attended puppy day camp 10 years ago and he listen to me complain endlessly about all of the hack jobs Rocco got every time he was groomed. It was so bad I was trimming him myself (yes, he looked like a hot mess).   I didn't know at the time Juan was training to be a groomer.  One day Juan told me he was now a groomer and asked if he could clean Rocco up.  I laughed and asked if he was crazy knowing how picking I was. He replied, he was sure he could do better than I was doing.  Well, that was that.  Juan was magic and Juan does an amazing job on Rocco to this day. We have followed Juan to several different location and will continue too.  I also want to add that Juan still smiles at my neurotic requests and even picked Rocco up and ran him to a vet when he had a medical emergency during an appointment. We recently and sadly put down our long time pup of 13.5 years. She had long and happy life. Her quality of life was waning ... it was her time.LAVC handled the experience with tender loving care.The Staff at LAVC is top notch, front office and medical staff. Very Kind and Compassionate Staff! We recently had to put down our 12 year old fur baby mostly unexpectedly. We were able to get a same day appointment after a description of her symptoms. I was expecting a regular appointment and probably antibiotics (hind site my own denile) but the test results concluded a poor prognosis that would become aggressively worse in a short amount of time. So unexpectedly we said good bye to our girl, giving her a restful peace in dignity. The staff was amazing, Dr Gesik (spelling) was very compassionate to our situation, provided us with options, space to figure it out, and time to say goodbye. I absolutely love the kindness and gentle care that was given to my little Babygirl. She was very nervous, having never been the Vet before, but Dr. Amanda G. Overall, this is the best actual animal doctor I have seen in my 13 years as a pet owner. Dr. Nagel is extremely professional and VERY good at his craft. He is super respectful and respects you as a pet owner. He is thorough and I feel really sincerely cares about my dog's well being. We have been to Lincoln Avenue for years now with our dog, but this past Saturday our 13.5 year old dog had a scary situation where she couldn't get up. Her legs were freakin out! So, we immediately called Lincoln Ave and they were closed. Bummer. So, we went to another clinic and got what we needed, but barely. Monday morning came and I tried my hardest to get an appointment as soon as possible, but Thursday was the best they could do. Another bummer. However, today we went in and I was so happy that Dr. Nagel was able to properly treat my old lady. What Dr Nagel did that the other vet didn't do, was actually listen to what I thought was going on. Apparently, I wasn't too far off from what he thought too. It's so irritating to me when I take my dog (or my kids for that matter) into the doctor only to go in and tell you what's the what of what's going on because they're a fancy doctor. Well, I spend hours upon hours with this animal and I have something called a Google search. So, I do know SOMEthing. Dr. Nagel clearly gets that and talks to me like a human being. So, although appointments are few and far between, for the quality of care that my doggie gets, we won't be going anywhere else for as long as I'm a pet owner! Read Less

Dr. Bowden is the best! We also love Dr. Seymour-they both are so awesome with my dog, Sonnie. They are fair and reasonable with their prices, too. I would not willingly take my animal here. My girl and I took our cat here for its annual shot. She picked this place cause it was close. Upon entry they say you must pay a 65$ "check up fee" all I want is the shot. Not a check up. The "check up fee" is not an option. I say call it what it is. Its a first time patient fee. Hiding fees behind bullshit names. THAT'S NOT SOMEONE I WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH. be upfront and honest no SHADY business tactics. If you want my business. I changed vets about 5 years ago to Lincoln Ave. Vet Clinic and have been soooo happy with them and their service. They have saved me hundreds of dollars over the years and I swear theat Dr. Paul is the cat whisperer. My cat doesnt go to anyone except me without a fight and she came right out of her bag and curled up in his lap and was purring. I took my dog for grooming here after reading the reviews, but my or rather my dog's experience was horrible. My dog a Shih Tzu was a bit knotted but our previous groomer would carefully comb out the knots and then groom him. Apparently the lady did not want to take the time to comb him and simply took the lazy way out by shaving him - in December!!! In all my three years of getting my dog groomed this has not happened and so my recommendation is to avoid that place like a plague!!!! Read Less

Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We have a TON of questions each visit, and Dr. Mary Ruth and the staff patiently answer each one until we're at ease and understand everything. I am not sure what clinic sas2679 is posting about, however, I do feel that Lincoln Ave Veterinary Clinic may not be the correct one. This clinic has been taking care of my cat (5yrs) and dog (11 mos.). I have never had a problem with the care or the staff. Each time we visit there are always several people in the lobby and they have never called us in late due to over-booking like some other offices. Both Bella and Jack have received excellent care from Lincoln Ave Veterinary Clinic and as a worried mom; I have never left there feeling that I did not have a full understanding of the visit. Also, I have never had a bad experience with the front desk staff either on the phone or in person. Bella had a cat fight last night and injured her ear and eye. They were booked solid when I called at 7:00 AM, but had me come in at 7:10 AM anyway. The doctor explained what she was doing and why; the dangers; the warning signs of trouble and how to administer meds and what each med was for. They did not charge me for an emergency visit as they clearly could have and we were on our way by 7:45. I highly recommend Lincoln Ave Veterinary Clinic. Read Less

My puppy is well treated and cared for by Dr. Flinn. They have squeezed me in several times when he needed to be seen. He actually loves to go the vets office. The front desk staff is rude and not accomodating. When you call with a question they make you feel like you are bothering them. The 3 different veterinarians I have seen have not been thorough in explaining things to me and I have to ask questions in order to get a full understanding. I have brough 3 cats there since 1991 and have tried to give the clinic many chances thinking that I am too critical. But the staff (including the veterinarians) have a high turnover rate and I just don't think any of them care. I will not be going back. I want a clinic for my pets where the staff really care about the pets. In addition I am learning that they overcharge for everything. Read Less
