Wildwood Veterinary Hospital

San Jose, California
General Info
San Jose’s tapestry includes the continuum of support that the Wildwood Veterinary Hospital offers to both pets and their owners, from initial puppy examinations to senior animal care. We listen and take the time needed to understand the habits, environmental influences, and emerging issues of each pet. Initial visits focus on vaccinations and nutritional questions, but the vet also checks for energy fluctuations that might highlight health concerns. Every new appointment is an opportunity not only to establish trust but also to gather information that can help prevent bigger issues in the future. Families return to Wildwood Veterinary Hospital for continuous support, which encompasses various services from dental evaluations and allergy treatments to cutting-edge diagnostics that include blood tests and imaging. The management of chronic issues such as joint pain, skin flare-ups, or digestive problems is a cooperative effort implemented through step-by-step planning and integration into everyday household activities. Each stage develops as your pet grows, recovers from an illness, or faces new health challenges related to California’s seasons. Community is at the heart and soul of Wildwood Veterinary Hospital. Following the discovery that calls and help on how to observe medication schedules are factual, many clients refer the clinic to friends. Meticulous record-keeping enables easy access to the pet’s history for both simple examinations and long-term recovery monitoring. Life in San Jose marches on regardless of how organized the calendar is. The team ensured that flexibility was built into the schedule and care plan. At Wildwood Veterinary Hospital, every appointment aims to impart the knowledge and confidence needed for pets’ long-term health and develop an ongoing care strategy. The team offers specialized services such as Acupuncture, Allergy Testing, Anesthesiology, Avian (Bird) Care, and Bloodwork. Clients consistently commend the team for their devotion to pet care and the personalized attention they give to pets’ needs. Whether it’s simple checkups or complicated surgeries, the clinic guarantees that your pet gets the best treatment possible.

Dr. Welsh is an incredibly talented, caring and invested veterinarian. She actually treats your pet instead of just sending you home with meds. She is also an extraordinarily gifted surgeon. My long haired dachshund had a melanoma tumor between his toes, and she removed it all without sacrificing his toes. We live in Gilroy now, but drive our 18 year old back to San Jose to see her. Dr. Welsh worth the drive, and the old boy- 18 now- deserves nothing but the best, and she is the best. Read Less

I really love bringing my cats here. The doctor and staff are great, I trust them. There is a very personal feel, not cookie cutter like some of the veterinary chains. I also like how calm the office is, which is really important for cats, meaning there are only one or two other animals coming through while we are there. Another place I went had about 8 dogs in the waiting room and my kitten was totally freaked out. Overall I highly recommend. Read Less

I simply cannot state just how wonderful Wildwood is! It's THE BEST place for exotics in N. CA! For 20 years I've been bringing birds and now my precious Mooshy, my guinea pig. Dr. Welsh and Dr. Sanders spend the time with you and really know about exotics! While I feel bad when my babies are not feeling good, I do look forward to seeing Dr. Welsh and having wonderful conversations about birds and guinea pigs (what I know best in the pet world). Many vets claim they see exotics or what they call small animals but seeing a handful a year is NOT experience. The information I've heard from such vets makes me both laugh and cry! Thank God for Dr. Welsh & Dr. Sanders. Finding an experienced, knowledgeable caring, loving EXOTIC vet is like finding a needle in the haystack. There is a reason why I've taken all my exotics to Wildwood for 20 years.... :)Read Less
