My ten-year-old Yorkie had gotten into a new bag of See's Candy dark chocolate raisins. I had forgotten that they were in my sports bag. He had gotten into them while I was gone you found the rapper in about an hour and a half after I go home he started puking everywhere. I had called my vet at Parkway Pet Clinic he had just left. They told me to go to ABC Vet Hospital so I went there. They treated him very well. The only reason he's there getting four stars is because of the cost which was $1,400 forgetting his stomach pumped and one night. Plus the meds Etc. I had asked if they could go any cheaper they said this is what we could quote you. They were able to treat him with meds and pump his stomach. I took care of him overnight. My cost was $495. Love this vet! They have amazingly accomodating hours throughout the week which is great for working folks. Their staff are very friendly and caring with both the pets and pet parents. We've had some ups and downs with our pets and always trust the care they receive at ABC. The location is easy to get to as well with lots of parking. ABC has just about everything you need from a vet to take care of your cat or dog. They are quick to get you in when needed and their prices are very reasonable compared to some other options we've tried in North County. I used to really like ABC when Dr Hansche was there. I also like Dr Martin. But the last few times I had my dog in there, we were very unhappy with the vets we had. My pit bull was an intact male. He started having some issues when he was 11 yrs old. Not eating, no energy. We took him in, had blood work done and we were told that this happens with intact males. The vet kept saying he needed to be neutered. We did not have it done at this point but after three more visits and the same diagnosis, we had him neutered. That was in February of 2016 and he continued to have the same problems. Finally they suggested X-rays and it was discovered that he had a large tumor on or in his liver and at this stage, there was nothing they could do. We brought him home for a few weeks until my daughter and granddaughter could come and say goodbye and we put him down on May 4 2016.Our poor boy was misdiagnosed by the one vet repeatedly. I had even called and spoke to Dr Niechen and he said he thought her diagnosis was correct. I expressed my dissatisfaction with Dr Nichen in a letter after losing our dog and he still stood by her diagnosis. Had they once said to do X-rays or sonogram, we would have done it, especially back in 2015 when his issues started. Maybe they could have found the tumor when it was small and taken care to it.I have two other dogs and they have not gone back to ABC! Read Less

So happy I found this place!! I drive past it on the 78 freeway everyday to and from work. My guinea pig prudence has had a benign lipoma on her leg for the past few years. I never did anything about it because I could never afford to. Lately I got very big and scabby and she had been picking at it. The last vet I took her to in Escondido I didn't really like the staff. I knew I didn't want to take her back so I called up ABC. I scheduled her an appt but then a few days (6/16) later called to see if they could see her that same day (6/16)We had an appt with Dr. Martin. Walking into the clinic I knew it was going to be a good visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Josef took us back to the room and he was great with her. When Dr. Martin came in he suggested surgery was the best option. I knew it was too. We scheduled the surgery for the very next day. (6/17)I had my doubts about surgery because of anesthesia and what not but Dr. Martin broke down what exactly he would be doing and it made me feel more at ease!Morning of surgery I dropped her off. Late afternoon they called saying she was all done and was awake. We picked her up a few hours after. I really like that they are open mon-sun and open till 8pm. Her leg looks so much better without the big lump on it. The next day (6/18) my boyfriend noticed her picking at her stitches. I called them and hey said to bring her into be fitted for an "E Collar." They had to make one for her because she has a little neck. lol. It's working well though because she can't pick at the stitches!I would highly recommend ABC Vet clinic to anyone in the Escondido/San Marcos area!! Thank you Dr. Martin for fixing prudie! This is the second vet we took my bearded dragon too we found out Draco my bearded dragon is permanently paralyzed in his back legs. The first vet we went to wanted to euthanize him because she thought he was dying from a mass that was never in his abdomen! So we found this Veterinary Hospital that actually knew what they were doing thankfully he said Draco isn't going to die anytime soon. We brought our dog bear here who we thought got a bee sting. They helped us out and it turned out there had a big infection from a laceration inside of his face. The poor boy had to have tubes hanging out of his face to drain it but the care that he got an ABC veterinary hospital was amazing. We love everything about this practice. The doctors and staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. We never have to wait very long. They see all of our pets. Even exotics. The extended hours are excellent. They are always open evenings and weekends. The only thing that would make it perfect would be if the prices were not so expensive. Luckily we have pet insurance. Pooter passed the same year I also lost my husband,and best friend of 28 years, to cancer. Our beloved terrior of 16 years closed her eyes and died peacefully the night the ambulance took Mark David Burns to the hospital where he lost his life to cancer Decemember 21, 2011 at 11:45 pm our beloved terrior of 16 years passed away in August the day after she saw the ambulance take him to the hospital knowing she did not want to be without him and I like to think that as I write this they are playing ball together. My entire family and I have been taking our dogs to ABC Vet for years. We have always had positive experiences with the entire staff and our dogs have too. Dr. Martin is the BEST!!!! He is compassionate, and friendly, he explains everything in detail and gives us the opportunity to ask questions without rushing us and helps to ease our worries and concerns regarding our pets. There have been times when money is tight and then the estimate is given and I think there is no way I can afford this, but Dr. Martin and I discuss what is absolutely necessary and what items could wait or be eliminated all together so that we can pay the bill and still treat or get well our pets. Knowing this puts my mind at ease and is so much appreciated. Finally, there have been several times over the years when our dogs have had to be put down. Doing this was very difficult for us as we consider our pets as part of our family. Dr. Martin and the staff gave us comfort during those difficult times. He explained the procedure and process and reassured us that we were doing the right thing. We were given as much time as we needed to say our good byes in private. We were allowed to be present during the procedure which I was very grateful for. So I knew then that my best friend was given the most gentle and quality care possible and passed in no pain and with no fear.
