Thank you so much for the exceptional care that we got today. Not only did you take great care of my cat you guys also helped get jump my car when my battery died. Dr. McNeill was so friendly and compassionate. My poor doggie was not feeling good at all they were able to get us in and take care of him. We left and Romeo was wagging his tail and by the end of the night he was back to his happy little self. I want to say a HUGE Thank you to Dr. Jenny Schiebert and all of the wonderful staff members here. Sophie passed in my arms last night. Dr. Jenny called me personally when she found out..... she had spent no small amount of time comforting and caring for Sophie. During the week that I boarded Sophie there, Miss Barbara and staff were carrying Sophie around (she loved to be held) and "well loving her" as in I never believed animals can be spoiled.... just well loved. I really really will never find the words to thank all of these wonderful people. They are even handling the remains for me today. My other girl Charlie will remain their patient when needed because I know of the love and care these amazing wonderful folks give all of these creatures treating each one as if it were their own fur baby. WORST VET EVER!!!  Only went to this location twice and both times was a nightmare!!!!  I will stick to the Vista location from now on and forever.  Watch your wallet with this place, they are not out for the health of your pet but for what they can get out of your wallet.  Don't believe me.  Take your pet for a second opinion before shelling out. The Dr. I think is great ! The staff is not the same people as in the picture. I had my dog stay there for a couple days and I have done this many times before ,and when I got him home he was different he was not himself. OK so I HAD to take him another time to stay I took his food and his snacks cause he has allergies to chicken and I that is in his file ,so OK I go to get him and they never gave him his snacks or used his food ,their food has chicken in it cause I asked them after I saw they did not use what I sent not only that . I noticed no one stays all night with the animals I live around the corner from them I work nights drive by about 2 am no one is there !! I have been taking my baby there for 6 years he was always so happy going and coming out of there but not any more the new staff I am not comfortable with any more wonder why everyone else left ...Read Less

We have been worth this vet for our cats and shih-tzu since day one and They have always been awesome.Their office is unassuming and basic but that is ok because that means you pay for the care not the aesthetics! Our animals get dental treatments as well as somewhat major procedures and we have had absolutely no problems..highly recommend this location as well add the Shadowridge location. My dog caught a foxtail or possibly a puncture from a splinter to the webbing between the toes so I took her over to another nearby Vet. I thought their cost to probe/clean it was too steep so I called Shadowridge and spoke to Nikki. She of course assured me their cost would be way below, even gave an example of how they just finished the same procedure on another dog just 5 minutes before I called for much less than what I was quoted. She even said something along the lines of, "what ever it takes to get you in." I had explained to her that I COULD NOT AFFORD the luxury of sedation, pain meds, the "extra" convenience items (I already have a collar and I can bandage a dog's paw.) I only needed the doc to probe for (and remove if any) foxtail then clean/disinfect the wound area to keep the cost LOW. Nikki told me that Sure, bring your pet in, we will still treat your pet even if you can't cover the entire cost... Sure sounded like she was trying really hard to just get me to come in then cave in and end up spending the hundreds of dollars there vs. the other vet...So I came in, they looked at my dog's paw and gave me the "low end" estimate of what Nikki quoted/assured/promised me and then also provided a "high end" estimate in case my dog doesn't cooperate, needs sedation, has more than 1 foxtail, etc.. guess what? The high end cost ended up being a hair lower than the other clinic and it was probably because I had told them what the other clinic quoted me. I asked again at the end of the exam if they can do the procedure for the low-end amount without the sedation, etc, but receptionist just said, "We can try but if dog doesn't cooperate, we will have to sedate her and the cost will go up." Anyway, I ended up paying $34 for the Vet to tell me everything I already knew (which is 2x more than the Vet I paid yesterday, oh and this was with a $20 promotion!)I feel like a burro after falling for these deceptive business tactics. Either you can do the job for the low-end amount without the added "convenience" costs or you can't. Any confident Vet can make that judgement call after the exam. Wasted a few hours and $34. My chihuahua/terrier mix has been coming here years! My dog is very prone to ear infections so he tends to go every few months or so. He used to see Dr. Travis, who sadly left the San Marcos office, but now sees Dr. Lisa who is equally as amazing and so caring and gentle. The staff there is also SO friendly and are always very excited to see my dog. They're all very knowledgeable and whenever I have questions they are always there with an answer. My dogs are my children and I would never even consider taking them anywhere else. I recently lost my beloved Raven - my heart still hurts- but the staff made an excruciating tragedy almost bearable. Caesar is a Rottweiler mix that I rescued at 4 years old with behavioral issues due to his last owners leaving him isolated constantly. Although I am working with him extensively I have only had him for about 7-8 months. Most facilities or private parties stray as far away from cases like him as they can or charge exuberant amounts. Shadowridge welcomed him with open arms and seemed to treat him like their own. The stay there seemed to have almost helped in his progress in socialization as well! Dr Jenny has been caring for my family of 3 dogs for over 20 years. I cannot recommend her and her staff more highly. She and her staff have seen me thru times of duress with the utmost sensitivity and they were immediately accessible . I absolutely love Shadowridge. I've had dogs all my life and have been to a handful of vet. Shadowridge is by far the best vet in San Diego. I have a Corgi mix that can be very difficult the second he is put on the table. All the vets at Shadowridge have handled him very well and without a hassle. I always feel comfortable bringing my dogs to Shadowridge because I know they are honest and won't slam me with unreasonable charges on my bill.Read Less

Dr. Schiebert was excellent, but there is major confusion among the employees about how and what to communicate with/to clients. There are two locations, and if you want to see Dr. Schiebert at a convenient time for you, you have to be available to go to either office. The problem is, the people in one office do not know what the people in the other office are telling you. It has been incredibly frustrating and I will not go back. To add insult to injury, the staff at the San Marcos office was incredibly condescending when I showed up for an appointment that they claim I did NOT have, despite getting a text message one hour earlier confirming my appointment! I have been with Shadowridge Veterinary for over 25 years. I went there because it was convenient,I lived less than half mile away from the Vista office. Once Dr. Jenny took over, I was hooked, She's great. Her staff are friendly, caring, and passionate, like her. Many of her staff have been constant, it is nice to call or visit with a familiar staff. The Vista office is my primary, but the San Marcos location is great too! They can do almost everything there and when they needed to transported him to the Vista office. I would highly reccomend Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital. Read Less

We usually go to the Sycamore location because it's closer but I have been to both and have been impressed with their care and friendliness. When we had to put our two rats down we received a bereavement card signed by ALL the staff! I thought that was very touching and quite unexpected. They care about your animal, however small. I like that they send helpful reminders of needed services like upcoming vaccines, etc.Read Less

Several years ago, my daughter told me about a wonderful Vet practice in San Marcos and Vista. We had been going to a practice in Encinitas but were becoming disillusioned with their prices. Shadowridge has been a very positive experience with caring doctors and staff. Their rates are also much more reasonable than our previous practice and now that we have added a second dog to our household, the pricing becomes even more important. From the minute I was sent to Shadowridge by the Pug Rescue Of San Diego, to have my foster evaluated, I have loved everything about them. Dr. Travis has taken care of my dog Newman, and my cat Willow, both senior citizens who have needed lots of love. These are the sweetest people ever. They took in my 11 year old chihuahua mix without question and helped me out with absolutely everything! Before I had to leave her over night they made sure to inform me of all the possible diagnosis and assured me that they would find out what the problem was, which let me know I had left her in good hands. I want to share with everyone how our visit went when Ryann and I took Chloe into your hospital today. What a visit to remember, first off Shane took us back to the exam room. He was so wonderful and kind. He was very good about explaining everything and more important, answering ALL of Ryann's questions and concerns. Honestly that was the best part of the appointment seeing him so patient with us. Doctor Nostrand came in and she was lovely and very informative. Chloe was very comfortable with both of them and they both said she was a perfect little lady. I know Shane spent WAY more time with us then he should have but I want you to know how much it was appreciated and totally unexpected. Your hosp rates #1 to me and thank you for that.
