We truly cannot say enough good things about the team at VCA San Martin Animal Hospital. Our family has trusted them with our pets for years, and we consistently receive the most caring, compassionate, and comprehensive service imaginable.
They have been there for us during some of the hardest moments—helping us say goodbye to a few of our beloved dogs with such dignity, empathy, and genuine love. The way they support families during those times goes far beyond what you would ever expect. It means everything.
Most recently, Dr. Shirk quite literally saved one of our dogs’ lives. She identified a very rare condition where timing was critical—something that could have easily been overlooked. Her expertise, attention to detail, and decisive action made all the difference, and we are forever grateful.
The entire front staff is truly world-class—kind, responsive, and always making us feel welcome and cared for. Every interaction reinforces that we’re not just clients—we’re family.
This team goes above and beyond in every possible way. We feel incredibly lucky to have them caring for our pets.

They ripped us off. We bought a plan for our dog, and we didn't know whether or not we wanted to get her fixed, and they told us we could change our plan any time, but 2 months after we bought it we d...
They ripped us off. We bought a plan for our dog, and we didn't know whether or not we wanted to get her fixed, and they told us we could change our plan any time, but 2 months after we bought it we decided that yes, we wanted to get her fixed, (after her first heat it looked like a serial killer had covered our floor with blood!) But when we let them know we decided to fix her, they gave us a bill for nearly $3,000.00 and when I complained, they smiled and said we would have had to change it in the first 30 days..... But of course they didn't tell us that, they promised us we could change it anytime..... So they obviously planned to rip us off from the very beginning! Don't take your pets here!

Steer clear of Dr. Clark, she is not that great of a vet and is more into charging you a lot of money. She doesn't explain the charges before she orders unnecessary tests to be run.

We bought a plan for our dog, and we didn't know whether or not we wanted to get her fixed, and they told us we could change our plan any time, but 2 months after we bought it we decided that yes, we wanted to get her fixed, (after her first heat it looked like a serial killer had covered our floor with blood!)
