Hi everyone I was there with my dog sunshine last Thursday and this amazing peoples help save my dog life - all 4 of her legs was stiff and she couldn’t move - I was ready to say goodbye. But after staying over night and taking inflammation meds/pain meds and antibiotics it’s a miracle that she’s back to walking but it’s still a process - she’s still not walking perfectly. They couldn’t find the real reason but suggest it’s something with her back. I came there with very low funds and they help me get another $500 so they can care for my sunshine. Our dog had allergies; we planned to pay and hear advice from the vet on how to take care of the issue. The vet said that our dog is very healthy, and she did give the advice needed (which was just what we already knew from a google search). The way that the consult went was the problem, they make you feel bad, and since our dogs can't talk, they invent pains where it doesn't exist. Our "healthy dog had a bill of 2400 dollars. Tons of vaccines prescribed, death warnings, the "new disease" in town; it is hard to explain in words, but the amount of pressure you feel inside the room sounds like our "healthy" dog might just pass away in the next few seconds. I feel for people who do not double check the information or older age people who look for help. An itchy dog might become an 800 dollar bill. A dog with itchy ears might cost you 1000 dollar per month. Do you think your dog pees too much, they will dig out that fear from you and charge you 1000 dollars per week, and after stop paying that money you will notice that your dog is just fine with no treatments. A heard horrible histories about that place and people who are being scammed have a smile on their face. Not hard to see why they are expanding. Note: our itchy dog was prescribed a vaccine that sounds like a miracle, five months in the market total, the only company who ever researched the vaccine is the company that sells that vaccine. Be careful, to make few extra bucks they will inject your dog with some doubtful chemicals. I might be a kind extreme because I just got out there, but the amount of stress that I just went through on that vet clinic is the reflection of my above words. I would recommend this place if you wanna to improve your "High-Pressure Timeshare Sales Pitch," or if you are paying for them to take a look at your dog, then take your dog to a get a second opinion somewhere else Read Less

Yesterday we almost had a tragedy. I stupidly didn't notice our 4month old kitty had snuck in the kitchen door with me. Our dog was in there eating his breakfast. The cat got too close, and the dog went to give a warning, and caught Jelybeen's face. I wanted to die. I freaked. My nine year old daughter stayed composed and def was the adult, lol. Anyway..I called Animal Care, and was able to bring him right in. Dr.Hitchcock assessed him immediately, and informed us he'd be ok..., after some x-rays, blood work and meds. She was so calm and informative. She put me at ease, and that is no small task. No one judged my careless pet owner action (least not to my face, ha.)...and that was everything to me..as I was already hating myself. Crazy over priced. Everything they offered me came to a total of 650$. When I told them I couldn't afford that, they tried to sell me on other products. My advice to them is please have the pets best interest at heart. It shouldn't be about money and sales. I took my kitty to another vet who charged 200 for everything, plus more. I'm super shocked that this money hungry vet clinic has 4 stars, WOW! If you want to throw away your money and not get much help for your pet then go ahead and go here. Seriously! They don't give a crap if you tell them you're broke but want to save your furry baby so you ask them for an estimate to see if you want to keep him there or go to East Bay SPCA, so they quote you something small to keep your furry baby then the next day the bill is 4 TIMES more!!! WTF! After you specifically told them to communicate with you about added costs!So what's the first thing they say? Get CareCredit  -_-  No explanation or apology as to why they didn't call you first about "necessary" tests/procedures. And is the furry baby ok? Nope, still fighting for his life! What did you do for almost $2,500!!! Robbery!! Seriously, they don't care about saving your pets life as long as they can get your money any way possible. Communication is nonexistent and there's 0 concern for your pets well being. I have multiple dogs and do dog shows up and down the West Coast and their health means the world to me. I would not take my dogs anywhere else. Had a dog that needed teeth removed and was given a quote. When it was done they took out more teeth without calling to ask if it was ok. They charged me. Bill was 2200. Recently my other dog had eye issue. They tell me he had pink eye and sold antibiotic eye drops. Problem persisted on and off. Finally I said it's got to be something else. They tried to charge me another visit call to look again while I had to wait over 2 more weeks for appointment with eye specialist in El cerrito. They mentioned it could be glaucoma. I believe they knew it was but had no problem him being in pain for the 2 months and was trying to make more money off of me. Even the specialist's nurse knew what the problem was. They only care about money. They don't back up they're work and could care less about the care of the pet. Everyone I've talked to about them say they are terrible. We take our pets here for shots! It has been ok so far.. But my other sister took her dog who got an ear infection after he was bitten by a dog in the park, and she was quoted $300 when they got done with him, she paid $1700. One of the best Vet's I've been too. They were very helpful when it came to my doggie who injured himself with a strand of carpet that wrapped around his leg. My small dog had a broken ankle so I took him to emergency vet who put a splint on it, which fell off that night. They gave him some meds, charged me $670, and referred me to a surgeon. The surgeon wouldn't even talk to me without a $150 consultation. And besides I didn't want a surgeon cutting up my dog screwing in all sorts of s***. They even mention amputation clear out of the blue which totally freaked me out. I called a dog rescue friend who highly recommended Dr Evans and his amazing staff. Dr Evans not only set his ankle and put a cast on it he charged me less than the other vet. Its been about 12 weeks now and my dog is 98%!!! Animal care will be my veterinarian in the future. I love this clinic and care hospital. My dogs have done very well through illness, and in boarding, even when they have had health issues. Thank goodness I was able to leave my little Pom boy at Animal Care Clinic, so that his complicated feeding and medication schedule could be maintained while I attended a family function back East! They even kept a log on Jack's daily reactions, his likes, his dislikes, and how he did with his medicines. While all of the staff is caring and helpful, I must thank Dr. Michael Evans specially. He is compassionate and knowledgeable. And they are so reasonable for their services. He often donates services to rescue animals. The doctors are all VERY dedicated and they practice excellent medicine. Nice grounds, clean hospital and is in a good location. The only hospital in the area open 7 days a week. Dr Wehren is very good,She's sensitive and compassionate to the pet and owners needs. she patiently and takes time to explain every situation. I guess thats the only reason why i bring my dog there. What I don't like the most is they'have too many staff, and they're all kids and mostly unprofessional. The front desks are always crowded and they all chit-chatting. They only greet the people they know, There is this one lady, she always rolls her eyes behind you when you asks her questions. Very unprofessional. I already spent more than 6k for one dog only, but they won't see your dog after a major surgery for a post-op check until you make an appointment and to get charge for another ofc visit. I love the Animal Care Clinic. They made me an appointment an hour after I called about my puppy being sick. She tested parvo positive and they gave me a lot of options based on my financial capabilities. I did the outpatient care and had to bring her back everyday for treatment. They always had her file pulled out and were ready to get her started right away. She made a quick (3 day) recovery! They have a large staff and all are very kind and affectionate with Malli.
