I would  not take a sewer rat to this place.  Eight months ago I took my healthy dog in for a nail trim.  He left 30 minutes later in acute respiratory distress.  After suffering horribly he died the next day.  Dr. Jerry Moore did not call to apologize nor did they acknowledge any responsibility for the dog's death.   I did not ask them to reimburse me for the more than $1,000 in veterinary expenses that resulted, but they did not offer either.  In my opinion there is something very wrong with Dr. Moore and some of his staff. If you must take your animal here, I would not leave it alone with the staff. Stay with the animal and question every move they make.  And expect Dr. Moore to go to great lengths trying to impress you with how brilliant he is.  Unfortunately,  in my opinion, he is not. I've taken two of my dogs there and seen both ends of the spectrum: compassion when treating and eventually euthanizing my first one and excitement when performing a wellness check with my new puppy. When planning to say goodbye to our last dog, they were patient and understanding while we decided, and NEVER came across as cold or impatient. In fact, I could see the doctor's eyes swell with tears as my wife and I cried while we put him down. While treating our new puppy Dr Evans is absolutely fantastic with him. The best way to describe it is that it's like he's treating his own pet - how can you ask for more? I wish family doctors had that type of communication skills. I get appointments relatively promptly and have not had to wait long when arriving. My only suggestion for improvement is the clinic doesn't feel or smell as clean as other vets I've used, but in no way will that deter me from staying with them.Read Less

We bring our bunny to Dr. Holiday here to get chiropractic work done. We were initially very skeptical about having chiro work done but after our first visit with Dr. Holiday, we knew we were in good hands. She is soft, gentle, and effective. If your bunny has head tilt, consider chiropractic work with Dr. Holiday! Read Less

Absolutely the best Vets in San Rafael. I love Dr. Moore but have found all of the Vets to be excellent when he wasn't available. I have used them for my kitties for about 13 years and they have been totally great. I saw Dr. Adams yesterday and it was obvious that she cared about my kitty and wanted to help. The staff is consistently friendly and they even have Saturday hours which is fantastic! I highly recommend this office! Read Less

When my sweet Daisy broke her leg, Eva Radke and her staff did everything in the world to make sure that Daisy healed 100%. I posted a bunch of photos on the site; they changed her cast NINE times! Each cast was more adorable than the last, but more importantly, she healed 100%. Better than new! This is well overdue!  It is so very rare to have a overwhelmingly positive experience with any person or business that when it happens, the story must be shared.  Our experience is with Dr. Radke and East San Rafael has always been pleasant.  Buster Toesey, our polydactyl family cat enjoyed the friendly environment that is available there on the few times that he was due for a check up.  See, Buster Toesey was seemingly a healthy, happy and super loving four year old cat.While we were away on a family vacation, Buster was found dead by my father in law who was taking care of him.  This was particularly shocking as Buster was just seen for a check up and immunizations two weeks prior and was deemed to be a perfectly healthy and happy cat!When we returned from vacation and called Dr. Radke, she joined us in shock and agreed to see if she can help us determine the cause of death.  It turns out to have been some sort of unexplained cardiovascular event.  We understood that there was no way to diagnose this before since Buster did not exhibit any symptoms.The completely professional and compassionate way that Dr. Radke handled the situation until now would make anyone happy to have Dr. Radke as the medical caretaker of any animal companion.  What happens next, is the clincher.  About two weeks following Buster's death, we received in the mail a letter from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine's Center for Companion Animal Health letting us know that Dr. Radke made a financial donation to the Companion Animal Memorial Fund in memory of Buster Toesy. It was a very touching gesture that was totally unexpected.It was also a gensture that will ensure our continuing support of both the East San Rafael Veterinary Clinic and of Dr. Radke in particular. They also made sure we understood everything clearly, tests that were being performed, prescriptions that were being administered, and what to expect over the next few weeks. The doctor even gave me her contact information and said that I can email her about any questions or updates on progress. Dr. Bill is the greatest veterinarian I have ever met. He took care of my old dog like nobody else. He is taking care of puppies with love. He sits on the floor to see them. Dr. Ana Apostle is the greatest veterinarian I have ever met. I had been going to an older San Rafael vet for years but as time went on and my animals didn't seem to be getting any better I knew it was time to go elsewhere. I decided on East San Rafael Veterinary because they were voted "Best of Marin." I was set up with Dr. Apostle and I thank the gods we found her. My cat had been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease at the "old" vet. No... It turns out he has stage 3 kidney disease. Renal failure. I cannot believe he was misdiagnosed and with something so extreme! It's great with Ana- she treats me as her equal, takes the time to ask and answer all the right questions, and provides all the options available for treatment. I have a cat with renal failure, an 18 year old cat, and a fussy chiweenie. Ana is the only veterinarian I trust with them and she'll be having life-long clientele with any other pet that comes in to my care. Read Less

I have been taking my animals (birds, cats and dogs) to Jerry Moore since 1988. He, and the vets and staff that work with him, have been wonderful to me and my family. His genuine interest and love for animals shone through every encounter. His ability to put my animals at ease and accurately diagnose and treat my them has always impressed me. His compassionate care for my aging animal family has helped me and my daughter get through some difficult times - we recently lost our fifteen year old dog to cancer. Thanks to Jerry, we were able to keep her at home and pamper and love her through her last days without pain or fear. Dr. Bill offers the best care you could ever ask for and truly cares about your family member. The staff are nice and the facilities are bright and clean. But as I stated before- the care Dr. Bill offers is what makes this the best place for the welfare of your family member(s).
