I have experienced "other" so called full service medical clinic and none of them can hold a candel to Bishop Ranch !! All of the staff are very professional and top notch but are also very personable and helpful... And the Doc's are the best I have ever met. They're all extremely professional but most of all they are by far the most educated group of professionals . They treat my babies and me with great respect, support and understanding. We moved from Castro Valley to San Ramon five years ago. My wife and I have had many dogs and cats in our lives, and have been to a dozen vets. In comparison, the wonderful demeanor or Dr. Eric Scott is totally outstanding. Unlike most vets that we have used in the past, this young lady spends the time to examine and explain her thoughts, and then discusses possible treatment options. Dr. Eric Scott is never in a hurry and always does an outstanding job at helping. We had thought in the past that some of our other vets did a great job, but Dr. Scott has raised the bar on animal care. One of the other great points that I would like to make its that she is not against writing a RX for mail order or to Costco for pet medicine. We have an older dog that is being treated for a fatal medical problem and his medicine is expense. This helps a lot. Other good features of the office; plenty of room to park, large waiting room, usually no long waits when you are on time for an appointment, and friendly clerical staff. My wife and I would highly recommend this practice to others, and this year alone we have sent five new clients to Bishop Ranch Vet Center. Use them! Read Less

Wonderful Reproductive Care. Dr Cain and Kristin were fabulous, as were the rest of the staff from the front door back. We did several progesterone test and 2 back to back AI. We had 2 healthy pups born by C-section without a hitch. Communication was great and timely. They answered all of our crazy questions. We also had 2 ultrasounds done. Her responses are well thought out and she has a calming presence that makes my anxious American Bulldog feel more comfortable when he comes in for his checkups. Bishop Ranch is the best vet clinic. My dog hates going to the vet, but as soon as she sees the vets and techs, she is happy as can be! They are so caring and love what they do. They have helped my dog so many times and make me feel comfortable with her care. My favorite part of Bishop Ranch is Tiffany, the RVT. She is amazing. She has gone out of her way to make my dog (and myself) feel comfortable and keep our minds at ease. She has caught things early on that I have asked the Vet about and gotten taken care of, she makes a special trip to the kennel if my dog is there to give her love, and she does anything she can to help dogs and other pets in need. Even if it means working late, missing out on events, what have you, she is always there and will always be there. Our Tucker was neutered today by Dr. Pogrel, our long-time vet whom we adore. He has virtually saved the lives of two of our dogs. Dr. P is a terrific surgeon, a gentle man, and a great doctor. I go to Amador Valley Vet for my dog’s regular care but I have had two emergency visits to the Bishop Ranch Vet Hospital. The staff is very nice and the Vets have always been helpful. My recent visit was because my dog cut one of her foot pads and I wanted to make sure it didn’t get infected. We saw Dr. Scott and she explained all of our options and provided the treatment that would be best for my very active dog. My dog ended up needing stitches and she is recovering well. Dr. Scott followed up with a phone call to check in and made sure medications were working well. If I’m not able to get an appointment at my regular vet, I wouldn’t hesitate to call or go to Bishop Ranch Vet Hospital. I went from first time client to very loyal.  My dog was very sick, not eating and I called a different place closer to my house and when I said I think she might be dying they said they were full and sent me to Dublin.  Instead I called BR Vet and they said I could make an appt. or walk in.  (That was a good start). They took blood tests and we soon found out she had all sorts of problems.  Well, in the end, my dog had a long happy life, she was about 14 and it was her time.  Even though my initial assessment was correct that she was at the end of her life, this place treated us (first time clients) with care and kindness.  When I choose to get a new pet, this will be my place of choice for check ups. I can't recommend Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center enough - Just started taking my little 6 month old golden retriever puppy here this past week and have had two vet visits and an incredibly positive experience so far. I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Erin Scott selected to take care of my little buddy, and can't imagine a more knowledgeable, caring, helpful and service oriented vet. Ryder had just gotten neutered this past week and Dr. Scott was incredibly helpful in assessing the infection that he had over the wound but also offered a level of service that I did not even know was possible - she offered to look at the progress of his wound via pictures that I'd send through email and respond within the day as to recommendations. Unbelievable.I had to take him in two days later because he had horrible diarrhea and vomited, and once again she was available to see him on the same day that I requested an appointment. I'd honestly never had this level of service before and I am so appreciative for it. When the same thing happened with my previous vet, they would tell me that they were booked through next week and tell me to find another place if I wanted something faster. Finally, Dr. Scott was kind enough to comp this visit and I can't express how grateful I am to have made the switch. I have been taking my dog's to Bishop Ranch since 1999. My dog's always get the best treatment from the doctor's and staff. We are always greeted right when you walk in the door. They offer you coffee at their little station while waiting.We have seen several of their doctors, and I cannot say enough about each of them.  They get down on the floor with our animals, checks them out and asks us lots of questions so they can get a good feel of what has been going on. They always follow-up with a call after a few days of treatment.Another plus, is our bulldog hates his toenails clipped. They are so good with him, and they are able to trim his nails without him flipping out!!!Also, getting an appt. is not a waiting game. You may not see your regular doctor, but they will get you in. Let me start by saying that this vet used to be our go to vet for our pets and we would always recommend this place to friends. Dr. Gilman has been our primary doc for yrs and he's been a big help. The staff was always so nice & caring. Over the past couple years, they have become more of a money making establishment than a veterinary clinic. Not only are their services overpriced but some of the treatments & diagnosis are not 100% accurate :( I understand vet visits aren't cheap so I'm not expecting to walk out of there without paying under $60-$70. But at BR it has gotten a little out of control. I brought my other cat in a few months ago suspecting that he has ear mites because he keeps itching it & shaking his head. The vet (not Dr. Gilman) looks at it and says that it was just wax... He cleans it out and I walk out of there about $245 later, what!?! We get home and over the next few days he seemed to be doing better but as a few months progressed, so did his ear itching. I decide to bring him to another vet (Parkway Vet) with great reviews in Dublin. Dr. Tanner was very sweet & even brought me back to look into the microscope to see the actual mites (so gross) but made me feel very comfortable & confident that he was being treated for the right thing. She cleaned it out and treated both ear. And the cost for that... $122!! Later I call B. Rippoff to ask if they had any other solutions for our other cat's ear mites to find out if they have any recommendations for treating her without having to bring her in... This cat is very nervous & gets stressed easily and ends up going to the bathroom in her carrier every time which is why I was calling instead of making an appointment. The receptionist repeated herself twice saying that we would have to bring her in. Period. Before we finished the conversation she hung up... So so disappointing and sad. We have literally spent thousands of dollars at this place. The money wouldn't be as much of an issue if they didn't treat their patients & clients this way. I hope that they can one day come back from this but it's not looking too promising. This is nothing against the few vets we have seen but more so the company as a whole. This is the 4th review I have ever written... Not happy. I had to edit this post to add this... I get a call after writing this review the same day thinking maybe they were calling with another solution for our other cats ear mites. Not even close. A representative from BR is on the other line and starting to argue with me regarding my post!!!! Not to start by apologizing for anything but instead she was making me feel like I'm a bad person in writing this. It seems very clear that they are more concerned with what their reputation looks like on paper than making sure every customer is happy and trying to understand why they are unhappy. I was unbelievably shocked at this phone call & at this person who represents a veterinary clinic where you're dealing with people's family members. This is a sensitive topic for most and I can't believe she even has a job treating ppl this way. We just love our pets and want the very best for them!Read Less

I couldn't have asked for a better veterinary. I came in with my 5 month old puppy Diaz who tore her tendon from her growth plate in her knee and fractured it. I was in tears because she had to go through surgery but they were so great. They took care of me and her and made the whole process easy. They literally took me in as family. And my doctor was Adam Scott and he was great with her. Everyone here treats you as family and I'm so gratefully with the work they did with her and the way they treated both Diaz and me! Read Less

I can't say enough great things about BRVC! I've seen a handful of veterinarians at the clinic who have all been more than helpful and very thorough. My dog's most recent bout with cancer is what is driving this review, though. Dr. Vega went above and beyond to explain the type of cancer (stage, size of tumor, etc.) in a way that I would understand, call me quickly with test results, and answer my neverending questions. this place is worth no stars! Not only is the admin staff rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional, our two visits with dr. Sagy turned into an unnecessary, stressful turmoil and we had to go to a different vet, and pay twice just because of the uncertainty and lack of reliabiltliy. Unfortunately, she misinformed us and was inaccurate regarding our puppy's health and vaccination schedule. The staff is compeletly disconnected and you can never get the same answer to standard procedure questions from the staff. I wish we did more research on the vets and the clinic before we wasted over $400 on two visits!! Read Less

Absolutely horrible experience. My mother brought my cat in because he was falling over when he was walking and had very pale gums. The vet just shrugged and said it could be many things and accused my mother of feeding him Marijuana. My mother called my hysterical at 10pm and woke the whole household up. They said the tests would be over $500. This vet clinic only cares about MONEY and definitely not the well being of animals. Shame on them. Read Less
