I decided to come to this place, only because I liked the idea of having one consistent doctor to look after my aging dog. Upon arriving for my first visit, I was greeted kindly by the receptionist, who brought me straight into the exam room. The room was rather small and stuffy, but luckily a fan was on. The doctor, Dr. Larned, shortly came in and was very nice and welcoming. I began telling her some symptoms that I had noticed and without a thought, she quickly recommended a blood test, suggesting that it was probably the best way to get a clear diagnosis. I thought maybe she knew what was best, so I agreed. At this point, everything seemed to have gone well. My questions were answered and she even began prescribing some medications to see if it would help alleviate some of my cat's symptoms. The receptionist began telling me my total amount, which went over $250. I was shocked and asked why exactly did the exam cost so much. She explained that the blood test was over $200 itself. As to why the doctor failed to mention the price of something so expensive, I do not know. My salary isn't very high, so of course money is tight. If I had known the price, I would have gone for a second option, possibly a cheaper option. The only reason as to why I am giving this a one star is because of what I found out through my daughter has a friend, who is a veterinarian. After describing my dog's symptoms, and telling the doctor of Dr. Larned's suggested course of action, my daughter's friend informed me that it would have been wiser to get a second opinion, because the blood test was unnecessary! It was the first time I was explained to that some vets sometimes suggest unnecessary procedures that don't harm the animals, but cost a good sum of money. Kind of like a quick way to get a lot of money from clients. Even though I only visited once, I don't think I will ever return. I advise anyone who is getting blood drawn or anything expensive done, to get a second opinion first. Don't be drawn in too much by her friendliness. I think she only wants your money. Read Less
