My Husband and I have used Dr. McDonald for well over 20 years. He was the MOST incredible vet in our area. Not to mention a fine man and great dancer. My dear cat Jackson passed away a few years ago ( at the hospital) and he and his staff couldn't have been kinder. Expensive but kind. Now under new ownership and a connection with the gross and disgusting ABC (putting down our dear Daphne without consent when Dr. Mcdonald was closed) I guess treating seasoned customers with a bit of respect and goodwill is longer part of their strategy. My indoor cat came in contact with a dog whom had fleas a few months back. Not wanting chemicals on my baby I successfully combated the mild case of fleas with lots of combing and brushing and cleaning of the areas where the eggs may be. Fleas gone but now a touch of worms. Fairly normal and clearly not requiring a office visit to traumitze a sketchy scardy cat like mine. FYI, same cat had worms after addoption and I dewormed from the same vet without a visit prior to her exams. I called Dr. Mcdonalds office on Friday night and left message and called again Saturday morning. I was assured that the 'Dr.' would call me first thing Monday morning.(never happened) So its Wednesday and I called again asking if I could just pick up a dewormer explaing that I have in the past. I had to regive all of the information that I had in the prior messages and was told to hold. Then someone else picked up the phone and curtly asked 'how they could help me'... One more time explaining my needs. I was told that they would not deworm my animal with out an office visit. That clearly could have been handled on Monday as I waited for the call. I have had Cats my entire life and worms are part of the game. They sell countless de-wormers online so to refuse care without an 'office visit' is absurd. You should change your name because Dr. McDonald was the best and you are missleading people....as he sold it!! ABC is the WORST!! Shame on you for allowing my animal to suffer needlessly and greedily insist that an office visit is required. Not all of us have a medical salery to get by on. Read Less
