One of the most compassionate and tolerant vets out there! I volunteer at a local shelter and I am also a certified dog trainer. I usually end up with the "unadoptable" dogs w/ health and or behavior problems. Recently we went through a lot of challenges with our oldest, finding that he had tumors throughout his body and dementia. He ended up needing several medications and Dr. Gil really worked with me. Yes, his prices may be higher for meds, but it comes from the source, where vets can purchase meds. He is totally fine w/ me finding cheaper prices online and very understanding. He also gave me a final med at cost because Snuffs was on so many. The thing that is SO important to me is that he REALLY cares about the animals and he works well with all of them, no matter their temperament or problems. The technician was really nice that's why I gave it 2 Stars instead of one. After I left I knew I would never go back there. they gave me 3 prescriptions that my dog did not need and said he needed almost $1,500 worth of stuff done. Completely ridiculous. Read Less

Dr gil is amazing with my dog. The only complaint i have is the prices are a little high. I paid 50$ for medication I could've ordered for 11 dollars. Dr. Gil and his staff are great! I came to get my cat spayed, but I was a bit worried since I had put it off for a while and she is already 2 years old. Dr. Gil assured me she was in good hands and she was! When I came back to get her she was perfectly normal, and her stitches healed within two weeks, and he removed them during our follow-up. The staff also does a great job at giving you the best deal since not all of us can afford insurance for our pets, but I love how Dr. Gil is so much more affordable than other doctors. You can definitely tell he loves animals by the way he interacts with them, and animals love him. 10/10 recommend to a pet friend. Read Less

I'm disappointed with Dr Gill. Both Dr. Gill and I agreed to a medical plan (dental cleaning as well as a removal of a cyst). He said that if he does a pain and an antibiotic injection at the office I will not need to purchase take home medications. After the procedure, but before I picked up my dog, I was told by his staff that all went well and that I don't have to purchase any take home medications. (I asked because I wanted to buy any needed medications directly from a drug store as they might be cheaper.) However, when I arrived to pick up my dog, I was told that I needed to purchase his medications. Once I was there to pick up my dog I would have picked up the necessary medications on the way if I had been told correctly on the telephone. Dr. Gill was absolutely amazing, gentle and kind with my cat. This was important to me, as my cat (Griffen) was once a feral cat and still remains quite skiddish to this day. Dr. Gill diagnosed my cat's issue and discussed options for treatment. I really appreciated the upfront estimate, the thoroughness of Griffen's physical exam and the recommended blood panel. What assured me most was Dr. Gill's follow-up the next day. I was surprised he could provide me with such immediate results on a Saturday. Other Veterinarians have prolonged results into subsequent weeks. The Receptionist, and Vet Tech staff are fantastic, professional and emphathetic. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt welcomed and comfortable. I would highly recommend Silicon Valley Pet Clinic, and I'm very grateful to have found them. Update: I was very nervous to have her spayed, especially after going through an episode of Giardia. She has been dealing with poop that is not consistent and we are doing some probiotic treatment. When I was really concerned about her poop recently, Dr Gill, I am assuming probably waited to take lunch just so I could come in. Bonus Points! :)On the day of her spay, I dropped her off at 915am and by 11:30am, I already got a call from the clinic saying she is awake and surgery was done. I was informed that I would be able to pick her at 1:30pm PST. She was drooly and not happy with the cone, once we got home. After surgery, Hash did have an appetite. Today she is pretty alert! Dr Gill called us the next day to check on Hash, which is very nice. I could feel the genuine concern of the doctor. I don't believe human doctors even do that! If you are a first time dog owner, highly recommend this place. Personable, polite, and patient staff. Also, most times I drop in, Dr. Gill will say hi to me and see if I have any questions. Past Review: As a first time dog owner with a shy puppy, I want to be taken care of. I spoke to Dr Gil on the phone prior to the visit to get spay estimates and they seemed reasonable. He sounded nice over the phone and I was hoping he would be the same in person. I like the fact that we can easily speak directly to the Vet who will take care of my pet. Great first exam visit. Upon arrival, Carlos, the receptionist was great at calming her down before the exam. Dr Gill was able to gain her trust and she was not as shaky as prior vet visits that we experienced. He also patiently answered all my questions that I had. He is not pushy at all and just lays out the necessary information about procedures, vaccines, etc. Upon leaving, we got her microchipped. Dr. Gill is one of two new vets at SVPC (Dr. Evans retired and sold his business). I took my dog to Dr. Gill for the first time this week and was very impressed with him. He's younger than my previous vets were, but very knowledgeable. I told him about my dog's digestive issues and after discussing several possible causes, we settled on a course of action for diagnosing the problem. He recommended a B12 blood test, which came back indicating a problem--I'd never heard of this test before, and I'm an experienced dog owner. I was impressed. Dr. Gill is very personable, easy to talk to, and willing to provide as much detail as you want. My dogs (I brought both to the office) were comfortable with him, and he related well with them. I first started using Dr. Evans almost 20 years ago. When he moved, I went from vet to vet trying to find someone to equal his warmth, humor and obvious love for animals of all kinds. Lots of nice vets (they tend to be good people) but none were a match for Doc Evans.Read Less

Dr Evans is truly the best vet I've ever had! He takes amazing care of my Bunsen, who wags his tail the moment he sees him! He's very considerate and often funny, but always professional about his care. He cares deeply about both the physical and mental health of Bunsen. He's made some great changes and the new facility shines. I always feel like I get a lot more out of my visits than the money I spend. Dr Evans treats my two dogs Teak and Sam. He's gentile, professional, and has a great sense of humor. My dogs love him!
