Really really awful service here. When they ask if you may hold, they really make you wait. I once waited a day and a half for some topical flea medication refills. that's not including the 1.5 hours i waited at their facility, which was baffling since they called to tell me my Rx was ready? SUPER AGGRESSIVE SELLING FROM A-Z you would think they are on commission. I don't doubt the veterinarians and their genuine concern for the care of our pets, but their support staff, not so much. Feels like trap everytime i got in~ Read Less

We have boarded our cat for 3 years in a row, but no more. He developed a kennel cough and they refused responsibility even though acknowledging he likely acquired it there. The contract I signed allowed them to refuse responsibility. They tried to get me to agree to testing for various things every time I left him and that should’ve been a tip to their lack of integrity. Read Less

This is a great vet. Our cat has diabetes and kidney disease and Dr. Barnstable and the rest of the staff is there to help any time. Whether it is a diabetic crisis, or just a stupid question from a nervous caretaker, they always have time to see our cat or to answer a question on the phone. When we moved our diabetic cat from a high end, marble floors and exam table vet in San Jose, to Dr. Barnstable and VCA Lawerence. She read is full medical history and found that not only was our cat being given too much insulin, but they had completely missed that he had kidney disease. We paid that expensive vet for all the tests, they missed kidney disease!? Not Dr. Barnstable. They are very helpful with payments, our cat lives with my cousin but her son pays all the bills. They are always willing to take care of getting the payment. If you have any kind of concern, you can always talk to the clinic manager or the veterinary manager, and they listen and address any concern you might have. We have an autistic nephew who loves our diabetic/kidney disease cat, and as our cat is nearing the end of his years here, Dr. Barnstable was kind enough to take time to talk to us about how to break it to the nephew who absolutely adores our cat. If our regular vet Dr. B, is not available they have such a good training program that now Dr. Pitsinger can step in and help us if we need it. Not to mention all the other top notch vets that work there that have filled in from time to time with answering questions. This is best vet I've ever delt with, our cat is so famous that when we walk in the door with him, or to pick something for him, it's like he's Norm from the show cheers. Read Less

I'm wondering what all the other reviewers are talking about. I brought my new puppy in for her 1st and 2nd checkups and exams. The staff are marvelous and attentive. Everything was explained in detail. My baby girl was very excited and happy to be with each and every staff member. As for the costs, they are very competitive compared to other veterinarians I have visited for my other pets. All costs were fully explained in detail before any procedures were done. Absolutely wonderful service! Highly recommend! Read Less

I had a 9 am appointment, arrived at around 8:50, and didn't get checked into a room until 9:15. I waited in the room until 9:25 before I asked the receptionist why I was waiting for 25 minutes when there were no other patients. She said she would find out and I waited in the room for another five minutes before a technician came in. When the technician came in, she didn't know what my appointment was about. Probably not a big deal, but when I scheduled the appointment I told the person on the phone I was moving to Scotland and needed assistance from the doctor on exactly what I needed done. The person on the phone told me she would make sure Dr. Piert knew ahead of time what my appointment was about and would be able to help me out. When Dr. Piert FINALLY came into the room (at 9:40 am by the way, I should have been almost done, not just getting started) he said it was my fault that I didn't bring him the information he needed to get my dog certified to travel. He said they always tell customers to bring a list of what needs to be done with them because every country is different. That would have been fine, if that actually took place. In today's business climate you would think customer service would be at a premium, but not at Lawrence Pet Hospital. Business is so good for them, they can start their service 40 minutes late without an apology, lack the communication skills to adequately care for your animal, and make everything your fault.
