Vca Vets And Pets Animal Hospital

Santa Clara, California
General Info
VCA Vets and Pets Animal Hospital in Santa Clara establishes medical plans that consider entire family units which enables them to support both pets and their caregivers across California. Initial visits focus on comfort because pets have the opportunity to settle in and explore the space while expressing their reactions at their own pace. Before initiating any physical examination the veterinary team monitors subtle indicators such as eye movement patterns, tail positioning, gait alterations, and pressure response signals. Healthcare assessments involve examining joint movement alongside hydration levels and body weight while observing gum coloration and coat texture together with thermal regulation patterns. Managers actively participate in monitoring daily patterns by recording wake-up habits, sleep durations, vocal behaviors, and recent behavioral anomalies. VCA Vets and Pets Animal Hospital provides treatment plans covering acute issues surgical care seasonal health shifts and ongoing condition management. Support encompasses lab testing imaging referrals infection prevention senior animal protocols and emotionally-informed recovery checklists. Plans are arranged in intricate sequences to minimize stress while ensuring the owner remains informed without feeling overwhelmed—particularly when handling multiple pets or complex medical conditions. The essence of communication stands as the fundamental core. Post-visit notes dispatch after each appointment while optional follow-up sessions develop based on pet adjustment progress instead of fixed calendar alerts. Instruction is given to owners on detecting minute signs of regression or readiness for progression. The components of long-term care involve pacing techniques alongside choice-based scheduling and reassurance methods. VCA Vets and Pets Animal Hospital delivers veterinary services throughout Santa Clara and California that rely on both animal behavior and family input to create care plans that remain consistent and compassionate from beginning to end.

From phone call to first visit the customer service was above and beyond! You can tell these people are passionate about animals by the smiles you are greeted from across the room. On my way out they had already printed guides for before and after birth of our soon to arrive kittens. Complete transparency of costs and great care of my cat. We will be taking the kittens/mom back once they get to two weeks old as they recommended. Read Less

We started bringing our cat here when we moved to the area and we really like the staff. Everyone is very friendly and I feel like our little kitty is in good hands when we bring her in. The clinic is always very clean and I appreciate that they provide a separate entrance for cats, since mine doesn't like dogs at all. They also have a cat-friendly exam room with toys and other features to help the animals feel more comfortable. It can be stressful enough on the cat to bring her to the vet, so those added comforts are a nice touch.Read Less

First of all, I brought in a neighborhood cat (not mine) who stepped in a rodent glue trap. That said, the cat was in a relatively good mood considering. I got an appointment quickly and promptly, and cat was seen. The room was clean and bright; cat got comfortable fairly quickly. This place has a really terrific video of various birds, squirrels, mice and fish along with a chirping bird sound track. Cat was riveted. You'd never know he had been so traumatized only 45 minutes before by stepping into a glue trap. After eval, they administered some vaccinations and groomed him. Because cat was unhappy about the whole glue situation they had to sedate him for bathing and shaving. Cat had some fleas so I sprung for the flea treatment. Then cat went to warming bed. Note: cat has a microchip but his "owner" failed to register it. This means that cat will remain an International Cat of Mystery. If you value your cat, pay the small fee to register the chip so people can identify him as yours. Because he failed his cat scan, his owners will never know what happened. He'll wander home smelling lovely with some shaved spots and a bad attitude, and them none the wiser. Cat is fine now, recovering. I agree this place is not cheap but quality rarely is. Though this is not my cat, I felt bad for the cat so I sprung for his visit. I would recommend this place for other cats. I also highly recommend their cat videos. I've never seen a cat so focused on the TV before. Read Less

D o n' t g o t h e r e!! I actually found this place pretty unethical. I took my cat there to get him de-wormed and when I called they gave me an estimate of about 35$. They also mentioned that the exam would be free as I am a first time customer. After I saw the vet they came up with a bill of 245$ which also included the exam. It was only after polite but determined and repeated complaints that they reduced the price. Similar to other reviewers they had come up with all kinds of symptoms and diseases that they could not confirm, like ear infections and mites, for which the tests were negative. If I had read the reviews in advance I would certainly not have gone there and I really cannot recommend the place. Being an MD PhD I know what I am talking about and as I said initially I find this sort of behavior highly unethical. The only positive aspect was that the staff was very friendly. However, the drug application was not very professional; the technician put the drug too far back in his neck and after he had been licking it he threw up a couple of times. Read Less
