I have been taking my dogs here for as long as they have been open. I also now have a cat who also is treated there. The Dr.s are all very caring and very kind. The staff has been polite and very helpful. I suffer from separation anxiety and they have been wonderful to me when my dog had to have surgery. Thanks to all of you.. Read Less

Took my golden retriever puppy here for about 6 months. They do seem to have a great staff and the doctor was very nice. The reason why I'm giving it two stars is because (1) they are super expensive and about everything cost twice as much as another great vet office (2) I just don't like their system of taking your pet away from the owner to give them a shot, etc. they take you pet to he back room while you wait in the waiting room, which probably gives them a lot of anxiety. I brought my cat in for a second opinion about a UTI. At first I was really pleased.  The office is cute, staff is friendly and he doctor seemed knowledgeable. I believe the assistants name was Kiera and she was amazing. They did a series of tests including X-rays that ended up being $500. I was told I would be contacted about results in 3 business days. After 5 days passed I had to call the office to ask for results. Mind you I had a baby and was in the hospital but wanted to pick up meds on the way home if necessary and not go out once I got home. So a call at 3 days would have been nice. The dr emailed back and said nothing was wrong based on the urine results. She said to bring him back in for X-rays and give him meds to calm down the inflammation. We had already done X-rays and paid for an anti inflammatory. It seemed like she didn't remember the case or didn't read their notes before replying. My cat is fine now but I am super bummed we wasted $500 for mediocre service. Not sure if I'll be back or not. Dr. Evelyn Vega is incredible!!!  I know the owners of this place through my fiance Brooke and they are the nicest people in the world.  From time to time, she will reach out to them for some advise on what may be going on with our dog or families dog and it has been very much appreciated.  I know that if our dog ever needs help that they will take care of her.  You are in great hands with them. Lucky to get a star.  Receptionist is snooty.  I was told to bring my dog in on Sunday.  Dr. Vega had concerns regarding my dog.  I told them she had symptoms of lyme disease   Advised me to bring her in.  I called Sunday and was told they were fully booked.  Dr. Vega did not see my pet.  One more pet who is in pain.  Compassionate no.  Seemed very apparent..fully booked, first come, first serve, all mighty dollar.  The fact that the doctor couldn't manage a half an hour for a dog in pain...is not the vet I would recommend! I love this Place!  I bring all four of my dogs here for everything from vaccinations two surgeries. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.   The doctors are knowledgeable, sweet and patient. They always do a fabulous job of explaining every detail and taking their time to answer each and every concern or question I have (which typically is a lot!) I love that they offer holistic and alternative options as well. Would highly recommend to anybody in the Santa Clarita Valley for their pet! Read Less

Absolutely hands down the best vet in all of Santa Clarita! Dr. Johnson shows so much love and care for my pups. She goes the extra mile every time we're there. The ladies in the front and the vet techs show so much love for my pups and know them by name when we walk in. Every time we go there, it feels like we're visiting family. I have been coming to Happy Pets Veterinary Hospital for six months. I have an 8 month old Australian Cattle Dog puppy and I have been bringing her here since I got her. I feel it's important to develop a relationship with your vet since your pet is one of the family. All of the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, professional. They are always happy to help me when I have random questions about being a dog mom and they just love on your animals. They remember my dogs name and are always happy to see her. There are so many staff that I don't actually know everyone's name, other than the front office people and those on the website. Freyja has the puppy plan, which was very helpful in the way of affordability. She has had 100% of her puppy care at Happy Pets as well as getting spayed. She's always happy to go to the vet so I can say that 100% of her experiences have been positive. She is not fearful of the vets office in the least. Most of her treatment has been administered by Dr. Johnson thus far and has only been preventative, thank God. I will bring Freyja to any of the three doctors there with confidence. I have never been up sold and they are sensitive to my budget consciousness. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a home. Read Less

It hurts to write this but they botched my wife's service dogs euthanization when they over dosed him on the sedative which caused him to choke. To add insult to injury they called my wife to confirm an "in home appointment" 2 days later. They were specifically told to call me and not my wife. During that phone call they tried to solicit my wife to bring our new puppy them. Two weeks have gone by and I went to pick up our dogs ashes and the "paw print" plaque only to be told that they haven't finished glazing it. I have had to put other pets to sleep and none have been as traumatic or as painful as this one. Some things can't be fixed with "I'm sorry". Don't worry though, they will charge you full price. This place is the worst vet ever. Came in with healthy happy kitty not bleeding. Leaving with bleeding kitty. WTF. Lol. Anyway, waited well over an hour, got way over charged for antibiotics and 10$ bucks for a collar? There like half that everywhere else. Do not recommend. Read Less

What a great practice! The veterinarians and support staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and genuinely care about the well-being and welfare of your pets. Their customer service is phenomenal, as well: If they don't have a product they go out of their way to find what you want. Recently, I was looking everywhere for the jumbo (12 ounce) package of Greenies Treats for Cats (chicken flavor), which I couldn't find at local pet-supply stores. We loved the staff here! the receptionist who gave me a rough estimate of the cost to treat my dogs ear infection over the phone, the doctor and technicians who were so loving to my dog (who is quite fearful of strangers), and the cute little sign they have in the exam rooms welcoming your pet! The staff was very attentive to my dog. It was a routine annual physical but they took the time to address questions about some issues my dog was having.  Caring for your dogs can be expensive, I felt they itemized there services well and allowed me the choice to decide what I thought was necessary for the visit. I recently moved far from Santa Clarita and had to take my dogs to a new veterinary clinic, recommended by a friend who lived in that new city.  I knew that the care my dogs had received at Happy Pets was good, but I honestly had no idea how much better it was than at other vets. Do not bring your pets here!!!! They will rip you off and charge obscene amounts of money for things your pet doesn't need and make you feel terrible for denying some of the things. We have been taking all three of our fur loves here for over five years! We LOVED it for the first four years, but now their front staff is rude and quite short! I am not quite sure what exactly has changed and we have been there for so long but the two front ladies need training in customer service and the ability to be polite. Hopefully when reading this review they will put forth the kindness they should towards everyone for the sake of the vet! We have been there for so long, but if this rudeness does not change, we will be finding another home for our fur loves to receive care. hoping this make a difference and things change- for the better! Not a bad place, I guess. Only visited once. I normally go to Valencia Veterinary Clinic but we have nicknamed the doctor there Dr Death. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOG THERE EVER AGAIN. Dr. Death miss diagnosed my other dog and 2 weeks later he died of throat Cancer. Anyways this place took me last min, appointment was $49, no wait but it was 7pm. They examined my dog and the doctor said she was perfectly fine and healthy, she couldn't find anything wrong with her and in the same sentence recommended $549 worth of "Preventive care options". Although I told them she just had her blood taken less than 2 months ago they suggested it be done anyways without even calling the last vet to get her chart or results. That was a red flag.In my personal opinion I just think ALL VETS ARE A SCAM. I THINK THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLES LOVE FOR THEIR PETS AND RECOMMEND UNNECESSARY TREATMENTS THAT YOU REALLY DON'T NEED.This place also charges $400 for teeth cleaning plus an additional charge of ?? "per tooth" that needs to be removed. !!!! Excessive !!!!I've literally just had it with vets over all. They definitely play on peoples emotions and love for their pets. Read Less

I can say I am more then pleased. After my regular Doctor was unable to set me an appointment, I was recommended to Happy Pet.  They were able to get me right in and were helpful.   I think that Dr Vega is great and knows how to handle her patients in a true and honest way. Read Less

I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS VET AGAIN. I WANT A VET TAKING CARE OF MY DOG because they LOVE OF ANIMALS. When MONEY IS THE PRIORITY- THE TRUE PRIORITY RAISED ITS HEAD. This vet cares more about money than she does for the welfare and Safety of my Pet. MY DOG WOULD HAVE BEEN THE LAST PATIENT OF THE DAY. IT WASN'T AS IF THE DOCTOR HAD SOME WHERE TO GO BECAUSE SHE WAS WILLING TO SEE MY DOG IF I WOULD PAY HER $90, INSTEAD OF $44. THIS SHOWED ME HER TRUE CHARACTER-IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. SHE WAS WILLING TO SEE MY Dog ONLY- IF GOT MORE MONEY. SO IT WASN'T ABOUT HER TIME- SHE HAD TIME TO STAY, IT WASN'T ABOUT CUSTOMER OR PATIENT CONSIDERATIONS OR COMPASSION. WHAT'S 10 MINUTES in providing good service but foremost in caring about an animal that needs care.TURNING AWAY AN ANIMAL THAT NEEDS MEDICINE- THIS DOCTOR HAS NO HEART. TURNING AWAY AN ANIMAL THAT COULD DIE WITHOUT THE MEDICINE OVER 10 MINUTES of time. She was not standing there doing nothing waiting for me. When I arrived, there were still people waiting to get a room. So I would have been sitting there waiting anyway OH, again but wait, Care for an animal or care about 10 minutes. CARE FOR AN ANIMAL - NO TURN THE ANIMAL AWAY- UNLESS GETS MORE MONEY. The DOCTOR'S TRUE COLORS CAME OUT. Rules overy caring for an animal. A RULE WHERE THE DOCTOR CARES MORE ABOUT RULES that they SET. DOCTOR TURNING SOMEONE AWAY THAT HAS DROVE 2 HOURS, turning a dog away that critically needs medicine. OH BUT SHE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE DOG IF DOUBLE THE MONEY IS PAID. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY NOT ANIMAL CARE AND WELFARE AND NOT TREATING THE CUSTOMER WITH COURTESY. EXCUSES EXCUSES - THE RULES ARE 10 MINUTES LATE. IF A DOCTOR TRULY CARES, THESE ARE ONLY RULES tHAt SHOULD BE FLEXIBLE and GIVEN CONSIDERATION. My needed Thyroid MEDICINE. I I live two hours away. I CALLED BEFORE I LEFT TO DRIVE TO MY APPOINtMENT. I CALLED a second time ON MY CAR PHONE TO LET THEM KNOW I WOUlD BE 10 MinuTES OR SO LATE. I WAS PUT ON HOLD, WHILE SHE ASKED THE DOCTOR FOR APPROVAL. SHE CAME BACK ON THE LINE AFTER 3-4 MINUTES AND SAID WE'LL SEE YOU IN A FEW MINUTES. IF SHE HAD TIME TO SEE MY DOG, BUT WOULD ONLY DO so if I paid more money- says it all. DOCTORS TIME WASN'T LOST. SHE WAS RUNNING LATE ANYWAY. IT WAS VERY MEAN TO ME AND UNCARING FOR A DOCTOR WHO TOOK AN OATH TO PUT ANIMAL WELFARE FIRST. IF A DOCTOR WON'T SEE AN ANIMAL AND GIVE IT CARE, wHEN THEY HAVE LOST NOTHING- they incurred no additional expense, rhey were there with other patients anyway. But cared more about making money . SHR was WITH OTHRR PATIENTS ANYWAY, I would have waited to be seen at least another 30 MIutes after I arrived ed. as the person having an appointment wasn't called for 10 more minutesr after I arrived. THIS DOCTOR HAS A COLD , STERN HEART. THE FRONT DESK STAFF WAS VERY NICE. Read Less

Not happy with Happy Pets! My Angle is sick! Skin pealing with hair coming off. Skin red and bumps! Wanted Dr Vega to look at her! Called and the office said she would be back in 6 days so I wanted to make appointment for when she came back! Go in and Angle didn't see Dr Vega! Saw someone else who I don't think helped like she should have and I didn't wait 6 days to see someone else! Not happy with Happy Pets! Great service! Dr. Vega spent a lot of time with us giving our little one a thorough check up. Made really helpful suggestions for dental care and weight managment.Additionally they do acupuncture and advocate hollistic medicine as well. Love Love Love this clinic! The staff is very attentive, friendly & professional. They give every pet coming through as much attention as the previous one. The care that my 2 "goldies" have gotten over the years is exceptional. I've been to other clinics and also very good care, but the customer service and quality is why I go there. Dr. Vega & Dr. Johnson are wonderful! They both go the extra mile to research unexplained issues & call back within a reasonable amount of time with answers. They are both very gentle, humble in nature, & don't make you feel rushed. They have new staff/vets as of recent that I am not familiar with, but I am sure they are just as wonderful. Dr. Vega and her staff are so refreshingly warm, honest and great to work with. It has been a long time since I have felt a veterinarian was in it for the love of animals above the business. Don't get me wrong, this office is a well-oiled machine, with clear systems in place allowing for a great experience both for me and my pet. I arrived virtually unannounced and was greeted with a pleasant, "glad you chose us" attitude. We were made to feel relaxed and I felt very confident that we would be taken care of . Nothing was done that wasn't slowly and patiently explained and that I didn't first approve - no surprises, just first rate, quality, caring and empathetic care. The doctors and staff are incredible.  They're honest and most importantly caring.  When they diagnosed our dog with lymphoma they were the most supportive and caring with her and us as a family.  They cared for her with love until the end.  I'm thankful for their support during this difficult time for us.   Thank you to all the staff and doctors.   Your office deserves more than 5 stars! We have been coming to Happy Pets since about the time that they first opened in their current location and have brought all of our dogs here. Currently in our second generation, we count on the doctors and staff here, not only for medical advice, but things like preventative medicine, feeding and nutrition guidance and pain management. Our dogs love to run agility courses and play just as rough and as hard as any kid. Dr. Vega and her staff have always been there to nurse back the occassional sprain or injury and we don't know what we would have done with our elderly dog who suffered from bad knees later in life if we didn't have Happy Pets around to help.
