I have been here twice. First visit was to consult with doctor about my aging dog, Scrappy. She had a very large, non-operable, probably cancerous tumor on her side. She was starting to fail, and I needed to know if it was time to start preparing for the inevitable. My main concern was whether she was in pain. Dr. John was very kind, compassionate and understanding. He ordered bloodwork, and called me 2 days later to personally go over the results with me. Two weeks later, Scrappy took a major turn for the worse, and I ended up back in the same room with Dr. John again, who personally performed the euthanasia, with outstanding care and compassion. This was two days ago. As a longtime pet owner, I dont wish the pain of this experience on anyone, but I honestly can't imagine a better place or a better veterinarian to go through this with. The people here were very nice and understanding. I had to go in to see them for a very sad reason. I had to say goodbye to my cat after 13 years. They made this hard time for me as painless as they could. They treated my kitty like she was indeed my family. The cost was fair which was nice considering why I was there. My big 14lb male cat, William, had been having an issue with a possible urinary tract infection.  His urine volume had decreased a bit, and he was starting to "meow" quite a bit more in the morning time for no other reason.  Our regular vet, Dr. Connor, in Castaic is closed on the weekend, and fortunately Little Paws Dog and Cat Hospital is open on Saturday.They were quite busy on this Saturday.  I arrived at 9:34AM and was seen at 11:45AM.  Pretty darn busy, but really needed to see the vet.  The vet gave William a good hands-on examination, palpated him here and there, took his temperature, checked his mouth, butt, and penis area.  Asked me a number of pertinent questions.  Rx some liquid anti-biotics, and we're good to go.  Reasonable examination fee for a Saturday of $55.Pleasant receptionist, medical assistant who took some intake information in the exam room.  Comfortable reception area and well air conditioned.  Clean smelling reception area too.  I have no problems in recommending this facility to all in the Santa Clarita Valley.  Great place and excellent care given to all pets... We needed to get our puppy his first set of shots, and the moment we enter, the staff immediately provided service, and the Vet was extremely kind and attentive to our puppy; probably likewise with every pet. I have been a foster & rescue for 20 years in the Los Angeles area and Little Paws is easily one of the best vets that I have visited. Dr. Garcia and their staff have always been accommodating and have accepted me as a walk in at their busiest times. I have seen some reviews that criticize the wait - which is unwarranted in my opinion. This is a small office, and they have always handled busy times professionally and to the best of their ability. I have had several extremely desperate shelter rescues this year, and Little Paws is absolutely my go-to vet. One thing I appreciate about their approach is to test and treat animals with their long term health in mind. I spend time between Santa Clarita & Venice and I happily drive 30 miles to take my rescues to Little Paws. Read Less

One of the toughest days I've had in years was taking my best friend to be put down. The staff and the Dr were extremely kind/empathetic to us. They gave us a room and all the time we needed after the procedure even though they were super busy. Wait times are ridiculous. I'm not an unreasonable person. Obviously if there are a lot of people waiting in line beforehand I would totally understand.I have been here for over an hour. There was only ONE pair of dogs before us, and they are now long gone. They finally put us in the waiting room but over 20 minutes later, nothing happens so I ask the receptionist how long it'll be. She says TEN TO FIFTEEN MORE MINUTES for the doctor to come in. Seriously??? If I wanted to waste my life at a doctors office I would have come in after school or work hours when it was busy. They charge towards of $60 for a damned office visit and barely say anything. This is the last time I will be returning. Read Less

We came here for the first time a few weeks ago, it was so small inside you had nowhere to sit. It also smelled inside. We sat outside for about 40 minutes and the people that were there when we got there were still sitting waiting to be seen. We ended up leaving.Read Less

Dr Garcia and Dr John are very good. They have calm demeanor and have been accurate with the issues I've had with my cats and dog. Ericka at the front desk is really on the ball and nice! Their prices are very good and they don't overcharge. They also treat conservatively, so you can try a simple remedy before jumping off the deep end with expensive unnecessary treatments.Read Less

I cannot say enough fabulous things about Little Paws. We just returned from a somewhat emergency visit for our 8 week old Boxer who was showing signs of an intestinal bug. We didn't have an appointment and did have to wait, but they were accommodating of our walk-in (didn't force us to make an appt.). The receptionist, techs and doctor were super sweet, concerned, interested and caring towards our pup. They tested him for parvo (negative) and began treating him with antibiotics, probiotics, subcutaneous fluids and a special diet. I was anticipating a large bill but it was a very, very reasonable $125. It's been some time since we've had pets but if memory serves this would have easily been a $300+ visit at our vet in the SFV. I am overall pleased with everyone and everything at Little Paws and am so glad we found such an amazing vet for our new puppy dude. Read Less

We recently had to put down our family dog and these guys did such an amazing job to help us through the process. No one wants to put a price on having to make the choice of putting your animal down but it sometimes is a factor. Little Paws is affordable and it wasn't a stress for us financially when the time came. Being able to do a personal cremation also meant so much for us. I was recommended Little Paws from a FB group that provided so much support in our time of loss and I am so thankful we found these guys. I took my dogs there for their rabies shots and paid only $10 per dog for a 3year rabies shot! Also I was worried about one of my dogs today and they squeezed us in and Dr Garcia and staff were wonderful and the prices are very reasonable! I will not go anywhere else ever again! Read Less

I took my dog Blue for an emergency visit. She needed stitching and had to stay for the night. They did an excellent job and my baby also love the staff. I'm so glad I was referred to Little Paws Dog and Cat Hospital for a second opinion! I heard Dr. Garcia was new in the area and also a Cornell graduate. I'd heard impressive reviews from my animal lover friends, so I thought I'd go check her out. Our senior chihuahua had an eye condition called neurotrophic keratitis, caused from damage/tumor of the 5th cranial nerve. Her eye was deteriorating very fast and we knew she either had to have the eye removed or put her down. I'd gotten estimates all over...and even with my old connections working as a veterinary technician in the past, quotes I got were too high; my husband said we were going to have to put Gucci down. A friend told me about Dr. Garcia...and with her free initial exam, we were given hope...we had gone to the appointment thinking we were going to be taking Gucci's body home to bury---and instead, we got a much more affordable quote, INCLUDING bloodwork, iv fluids and meds to go home as well. I was also given ideas where I might find non profit groups to help me afford her surgery at vets associated with those groups. What vet have you ever went to that would do that to help out her clients who were short on funds for a costly operation? I couldn't believe the compassion Dr. Garcia had. Every other vet you go to, you will pay twice the $ for office visits and medications that all the other area vets charge. We scheduled my dog's surgery appt and she was done yesterday. My dog wasn't afraid of the dr. bc she is so gentle and soft spoken. Her techs and office ladies are also very courteous and gentle...Gucci knew they wanted to help her. I had such a calm feeling leaving her--I knew she was going to be ok. The dr. had the front office call to say when Gucci was about to go into surgery, and again after the surgery was done....then the Dr called me to discuss in detail how the surgery went. Gucci was happy to see me when I picked her up and surprisingly awake and not groggy. I got clear aftercare instructions, the meds were easy to give my dog bc they're yummy chewables, both the pain medication and her antibiotics. (no struggles or trickery hiding pills in cheese or hot dogs needed here, lol) . Dr Garcia again sat down with me after Gucci was in my arms again, and we talked about her aftercare and details about the condition of her eye and surrounding structures during the surgery. She spends a lot of time with each pet and owners too...no rushing in this office at all. I am so very pleased to say I have a new vet for all our family pet's needs. Little Paws and Dr. Garcia and her staff are a great new resource for the pets of Santa Clarita. They have reasonable prices, excellent service and they are open until 7 PM and for a little while on Saturdays to just give a little extra padding to help avoid the need to go to an emergency vet.
