We cannot say enough about how happy we are with Valencia Veterinary Center! Our precious 8 lb morkie, Bam Bam ate part of a mushroom which had popped up overnight in our lawn. Not knowing if it was poisonous or not, we brought Bam Bam in, right away, just in case it was. Immediately, Dr. Liaghat and the techs on staff induced vomiting, administered toxiban, and did blood work. It appeared that all was well. Within 15 minutes of arriving home, Bam Bam began to lose control of his pee and poo, and was stumbling. We rushed him back to the clinic. By the time we arrived, our Bam Bam was in full seizures. They took him in right away, and started treatment. None of us could have known before, what a lethal mushroom this was. No symptoms and no signs in bloodwork at two hours from ingestion, full seizures 1/2 hour later. (Doggie parents, beware the lawn mushroom!) They stabilized Bam Bam, but he continued to relapse into convulsions periodically. Dr. Liaghat induced a coma to protect him from the harmful seizures. By the time we left him at nearly midnight, Bam Bam had no convulsions for 1 1/2 hours. The following morning, our boy was awake. Clearly still struggling, but alive! We were so happy! Receiveing fluids to flush the toxins from his little body, he continued to improve until we were able to bring him home less than 48 hours from the time he tasted that toxic fungus. Dr's B. and S. Grewal saw to Bam Bam's care throughout his recovery. Our most sincere thanks to, Dr. Liaghat, Dr's Grewal, veterinary technicians Melisa, Sam, and James, and all the rest of the caring staff of Valencia Veterinary Center, who saved our Bammers' life, and were so friendly, courteous, and supportive of us as they helped us through such a traumatic time. Bam Bam is resting comfortably on the couch, cuddling with us today, due to the life saving efforts of these heroes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!Read Less
