We have used Gustin-Van Every since we moved here in 2014.  They have been amazing with all of our cats (and we can't overstate how amazing it has been to have care in our home).  When one of our cats needed more specialized care, they didn't hesitate to refer.  They were particularly wonderful and empathic and sympathetic and supportive when our old boy couldn't fight any longer and being able to have him outside in his favorite garden spot to pass made a tremendously sad moment a little more bearable.  I can't recommend them highly enough. I was looking for a new vet, and Marc and Christine came highly recommend by a friend.  I was able to get an appointment the next day.  Marc was prompt, professional, friendly, AND...my dogs liked him a lot!  So did my family and I.  He spent quality time with my dog, and I was very satisfied with the diagnosis and treatment plan.  He took his time, and never made us feel that he needed to get to his next appointment.  The fees were very reasonable, too.  So happy to have found our new vets! So glad we decided to give Gustin - Van Every Mobile vet a call. We have a hyper dog who go nuts in the car and it's no fun for anyone trying to get him to the vet. Our poor dog developed severe allergies and was licking and scratching himself raw and our other vet wasn't very helpful in finding solutions or even treating problems that occurred because of it. Our dog became aggravated with vets offices and we needed to find a solution. My husband called and spoke with Marc about our situation and something we had heard of we wanted to try for him. When Marc came to our home he was great, was able to gain our dogs trust, pet him, give him a quick exam with out him even realizing he was getting one. Marc talked with us about our dogs condition and things we tried in past and possible things to try going forward and gave our dog his injection while teaching us how to do it so we wouldn't have to have him come out monthly to continue if it worked. It has been over a week and a half and we were finally able to take off the cone our dog has had on for just over a year now and it's stayed off for 2 days now. Needless to say we will be using them from now on for all our veterinary needs, you can tell Marc and his team love animals and are about helping them and making their lives comfortable and happy! Gustin Van Every has stellar reviews for a reason: they are the best! We had moved from LA to Santa Cruz about a year ago and our two cats hadn't seen the vet since. They needed some vaccinations and flea medication. In the past, it has been a nightmare to get our cats to the vet. Even the sight of the carriers sends them hiding under the bed for an entire day. So we looked into vets that could come to your home. I was assuming it would be crazy expensive but Gustin Van Every's site had pretty reasonable prices so we made an appointment. When Dr. Van Every arrived, I walked out to meet him and told him to not knock on the door and just walk in like he owns the place because my cats hide when they hear the door knocking but are totally fine if you just walk in (cat logic). He was totally cool about it and the cats warmed up to him and his assistant very fast. He looked over their paperwork, took photos, played with them, and suggested the vaccines to get. When it came time to give them their shots, they were comfortable and on our couch, something I had never even realized would be so amazing. They did so well they didn't even hide under the bed afterward. I can't describe how easy and how awesome it was to have a vet come to the house and how incredibly gentle and easygoing Dr. Van Every was. They printed up vaccination reports and an invoice right from their mobile vet truck complete with photos of the cats. The vaccinations he gave them were 3 years as opposed to our previous vet which only gave 1 year vaccinations so if all goes well, they won't need to see Dr. Van Every for a while. It was time to put my old dog down and I just couldn't take him to a vet's office. I wanted to have him peacefully pass in his favorite sunny spot in the yard. I found the Dr Marc's home visit rate to be very reasonable.   I called him several times to ask questions but put off making an appointment for weeks.  When they came to my home. Dr. Marc and Christine were sensitive to us grieving humans and my dogs, especially my beloved Presly.  He explained the 2 injection procedure. Then, when we were ready he began the process. We got to pet and hold our dog as he painlessly passed on.     Today we received a very nice condolence card from the vet. I understand Gustin-Van Every does more than euthanize pets. Not only is Dr. Van Every smart and caring, his assessment skills and treatment of my elderly pets is both realistic and cost conscious. He arrives on time to your home.  I love the convenience, the stress free exams for my pets and the individualized compassionate care. I feel absolute trust in this veterinarian. I cannot praise Drs. Gustin and Van Every enough.  They deserve 10 stars.  I had to put my beloved 17 year old indoor cat down and wanted it to happen at home where she felt safe. The vets were unbelievably kind and compassionate. They were every bit as concerned for my comfort and well being as my cat's.  They took things at my pace, explaining the process in full before starting anything, and let me hold my cat as long as I wanted to after she had passed.  My cat died peacefully and without pain or fear in my arms, and I felt genuinely loved and cared for by two total strangers with amazing hearts.Thank you so much for doing what you do.  Hopefully there will be another animal in my life in the future and I can use you as their regular vet. Dr Van Every & Gustin are every bit as wonderful as the reviews. They are not only caring, wonderful people, but amazing at what they do. They have seen us through taking in a feral cat and the trials and tribulations that presented. Several weeks of antibiotics and quite a bit of blood work - it's been a process. They could not have been more patient and more wonderful. They've been taking care of our other cat for 2 years now, and the patience they have in dealing with our scared little princess seems to be infinite. She has always, and will always, hate anyone else who comes to the house, but they are so gentle with her it's amazing. I have to say I hesitated to write this review because I didn't want the secret to get out, but they're too awesome for this. The price is reasonable, and 2000% worth it, compared to the hassle of getting cats in carriers. Their communication is super fast, they're always on time, and over great vets & people. Sadly my wife and I were faced with a final care decision for our beloved but ailing Shar-Pei, Chloe, last week. A visit to her regular vet diagnosed her recent symptoms as "irreversible" so we returned home to discuss our options. We called our pet sitter who recommended Gustin - Van Every Mobile Veterinary Medicine to help us end Chloe's suffering at home. Dr. Gustin returned our call on their day off, spent lots of time listening to our story and explaining the process. We made an appointment for the next day. The vets arrived and exhibited such compassion, patience, caring and dignity. They insured Chloe's and our comfort throughout, and Chloe passed peacefully in our arms.My wife and I are, of course, heartbroken and so miss our little girl. Drs Gustin and Van Every are wonderful! We called on them in a time of need - our rabbit was in hospice and we wanted to find a vet who would come to our house when the time came for her to be put down. We met with them and immediately felt comfortable and at ease that they would help us when our fur-baby was ready. When that day finally came, they worked us into their busy schedule at were at our house within a few hours to help her to the other side. They were extremely compassionate and willing to move as slowly as we needed and explained everything to make sure we knew what was going to happen. While it was very difficult the Drs helped to make this difficult experience as comfortable and healing as possible. While we weren't concerned about the price, we were also quite surprised to find that their pricing was very reasonable - about equal to what we pay to bring in our pets to the vet and they came to us! So much less stress on everybody!I hope to keep using them for my healthy fur-babies and am happy to recommend them! Read Less
