Beware of this VCA
They claim to care about your pet, but I had to complain about serious disregard of my pet's well being. If my pup was healthy this would not be as serious. Every visit I left my pup in their care, with simple instructions and it was confirmed that they failed at providing this minimal requirement. I provided a reminder of my pups need for upon each visit and on the last visit the front desk staff confirmed they did not meet this this minimal requirement for my pup. If my pup was a human, V CA would be negligent of abuse. I am talking about food, water, walking. Thank goodness I was not relying on them to medicate her.

Everything looks good but then I noticed in the back the staff uses heavy restraining and muzzle every animal not understanding the fear free techniques vca claims to use. The staff talks about all client in the back very rude mean comments only because they don’t like a person. Strongly recommend going somewhere else they only pretend to care about your animal

Great experience here! Brought my cat 'Goose' in for a check up and some vaccines. Staff were welcoming and getting me checked in and in to see the tech and Dr. was all very fast. Apt. took approx 30mins. While they did share other procedures / vaccinations / treatments they could give Goose, I did not at all feel pressured to get those too and left with exactly what I came in for! This vet, is now 'my vet' and I'll be back!

The staff is extremely friendly. They all love Arya (my dog). I'm not just a client but really feel part of a family. The staff and doctors care about Arya as much as I do.

The staff is extremely friendly. They all love Arya (my dog). I'm not just a client but really feel part of a family. The staff and doctors care about Arya as much as I do.
These are the best doctors in Santa Monica, they have no ties with any specific animal food providers so they really care about your pet instead of making you buy a particular brand of food.
They have taken great care of me and Arya every time I've been there. Keeping me updated when she was in surgery and giving me all the information I needed when I first got her (first time owner here). I even called them one day I though Arya was sleeping too much and they calmed all my worries (they even sent me a youtube video to see that dogs sleeping that much was normal). Both doctors gave me their personal numbers in case of an emergency and I've always been able to make next day appointments.
I really feel part of a family.
Extremely recommend them!!!

This so call pet hospital are con artists!!!! I took my 1 year and 3 month old blue nose pitbull here a couple months back and they lied to my face claiming my dog had a uterus infection and had to act immediately. I took her to a second pet hospital to get a second opinion and they took X-rays and all and found absolutely nothing. These so call "Vets" aren't interested in the well being of your pet they are more considered about moving the money in your pocket into their pocket. VCA Santa Monica Dog and Cat Hospital is probably the last place you should go to since they are all about making money instead of caring for your pets health.

Like anything in life, you dont find the best individual in any profession most of the time. But after seeing countless vets that ranged from rude to fine, I searched web reviews looking for more than "fine". After trying Dr. Wallen last fall, I was hooked and knew this lady has that extra instinct about how to care for animals. Recently my older kitty got a UTI and after her follow-up visit last week Dr. Wallen still wasnt convinced it was gone, even after treating her with anti-biotics for 2 weeks. She wants me to bring her in again for no charge to re-check. Im impressed. Prices are typical for the area. If your animal is your baby then go see Dr. Deborah Wallen!

They claim to care about your pet, but I had to complain about serious disregard of my pet's well being. If my pup was healthy this would not be as serious. Every visit I left my pup in their care, with simple instructions and it was confirmed that they failed at providing this minimal requirement. Great experience here! Brought my cat 'Goose' in for a check up and some vaccines. Staff were welcoming and getting me checked in and in to see the tech and Dr. was all very fast. Apt. took approx 30mins. While they did share other procedures / vaccinations / treatments they could give Goose, I did not at all feel pressured to get those too and left with exactly what I came in for! This vet, is now 'my vet' and I'll be back!

This so call pet hospital are con artists!!!! I took my 1 year and 3 month old blue nose pitbull here a couple months back and they lied to my face claiming my dog had a uterus infection and had to act immediately. I took her to a second pet hospital to get a second opinion and they took X-rays and all and found absolutely nothing.
